George Martin was the Beatles’ recording engineer during their 8 year career. George was the man who gave life to much of the beatles’ music. He recorded them, mixed them, and mastered them. He floated his own ideas into the music while simultaneously keeping it theirs. He is often considered the “fifth beatle” due to his role in their music, as he rightly should. The career of a recording engineer is one where a person can be creative and exercise his passion for music. In the Recording Engineers line of work, there are two forms of employment. You can either work in a large studio or work out of your home. Working in a Studio has its pros as well as its cons just like working at home does. A studio job will mean you will have more work than your self-employed counterpart and more Engineers to work with. This is due to the fact that if the studio you are working for is a reputable studio, then you will receive the fruits of said reputation. Though, Working in a studio means you will work full time, or in some cases overtime, to meet a deadline. Most will also work on holidays and weekends for the same reason. A self-employed Engineer will often set his own hours, but work less frequently. When they work, it is most often out of their own home studio. This is why most self-employed engineers …show more content…

Most successful musicians know a hidden art carried out by the work of a good sound engineer; it is essential for a magnificent album. For the rest of us novice listeners and fans, we believe what we hear through our speakers or played over the radio are the true skilled professional musicians, soaring at their craft. Most contemporary music, from pop to R&B and acid jazz to the sophisticated realm of orchestral film scores, has been modernized by several inventions encased within the studio. The art of audio engineering has taken on new forms, from the nuts and bolts, "plug it in, and see if it works" era into the digital world, because of these wonderfully tragic solutions to a
George is like many singers today, and that is because he never wrote any of the music he performed. He did write a couple of his songs, but the majority of them where written for him by songwriters. Alan Jackson on the other hand wrote most of his music (Thompson, B). He has written over a hundred songs and continues to write music today. He did have a few of his big hits like Pop a Top or Write on the Money written for him, but for the most part Alan has written most of his content.

I propose that all unsigned rising artist should target the business side of the music industry to be successful in the entertainment business because it allows the artist to be taken seriously and make solid connections that can further his/her career. Learning the works of the music industry also enables a new artist to be further successful and profitable. Recent studies show that most new artists without professional representation and a business mindset have a slimmer chance in getting signed to major or independent labels (Lowry, 2011). Overall, the specific change needed is that unsigned artists should be concentrating on their careers as professionals and not amateurs, thus focusing on the ins and outs of the music business and
The Beatles are one of the most innovative rock bands of all time. They have not only changed the way rock and roll is looked at, but also the way that the music is recorded. They have influenced the artists of the 60s and the 70s, and also many generations later and to come. Originating from Liverpool, England, the Beatles, or the Fab Four, consists of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Topping the charts in ’63 with “Love Me Do,” and bringing in the highest rated viewing in history while performing on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Beatles are definitely a band that broke the sound barrier of rock

Ever since I was a young kid, I was extremely fond of music. Music was all around me: on the television, in school, at the store, and especially in the car. Not only did I love to listen to music, but I loved to play it as well. I am not saying I was any good at playing music, because I was not. But to a young child, hitting their hand on anything could be music, and to me it definitely was.
After training or schooling has been received, there are a few ways that might get you in the door and working for a studio. 1) Offer your services for free (or next to) to a studio to learn the business. 2) Check what seminars are being offered for Recording Engineers and go. Contacts can be made and learn more about the business. 3) Check with record companies for availability of internships. 4) Knock on every studio door in town. Just get involved, stay informed, do whatever you can to break-in and work. It may take a while to get in the door, but once you do, as long as you're talented, work hard, and persevere your career should advance.

Although the musical group finally decided on what to call themselves, they still were waiting for their big break. Their big break came in the form of a man notice Brian Epstein, a record storeowner. Epstein’s interest was piqued when he heard about a young band making its way through Liverpool. So Epstein decided to go watch "The Beatles" perform. Something about the Beatles energy when they play inspired Epstein to become their manager.
