Evaluation of Methodology The aim of this action research was to find out if cognitive learning was impacted by the implementation of free-flow play. This was carried out by collecting primary and secondary research through a range of different tools, to gather the facts and opinions needed to gain an overall picture on whether to prove or disprove the hypothesis (Bell, 2010). From the planning proposal of this research project. The approach started with an interpretivist stand point. Nevertheless, this was looked into and adapted to change to be a pragmatic approach as the interpretivist view was too subjective and unreliable for this project to give valid data. Thus, the reason for the adaption of research tools, to gather more …show more content…
Consequently, during the planning stages a permission letter was considered and passed onto the manager for agreement on the project, allowing the information and data to be retrieved and problems from occurring. Problems that could have occurred might have been questions being inappropriate for the setting or could affect the participants. This is why before handing out the questionnaire it was checked, a copy was attached to the permission letter and a pilot questionnaire was carried out before the project even took place. Throughout the planning stage for the action research project other ethical considerations where considered before the action research took place. This Resulted in this project being more reliable and more ethically considered. Following the BERA (2011) guidelines it allowed the participants to feel respected and have their own right to privacy, allowing for more of an honest and valid result. Lambert (2012) describes that the people involved in this research project needed to be respected, as they have their own right to remove themselves from the project and know who saw their information. Although, no participant removed themselves from the project, all participants were aware that the information stayed confidential as stated on top of the
In this article participants were given written and verbal information about the study and confidentiality, anonymity and withdrawal were reassured. All participants were fully informed and consented. Moreover, as the participant for this design is to permit the participants to ‘open up’ and discuss their experiences. It is crucial that any given time the participant should be permitted to discontinue with the interview if they feel uncomfortable. This is called as process consent, whereby the interview continuously negotiates with the interviewee to determine whether they are comfortable in continuing with the interview, (Polit and Beck, 2006). There are many ethical aspects to consider, the above is just one fraction used as an example, by simply suggesting that ethical guidelines were adhered to, does not illustrate ethical consideration. They did not show how to make the participant safe if they were difficult to manage.
There are many theories into how children develop and how they learn. These are extremely important as they can be applied to modern strategies used for child behaviours. Presently, learning theories are placed into 3 categories:
The new intervention that I would like to implement at Huther Doyle is meditation. Using meditation and mindfulness will help patients be able to center themselves and provide a time for centering in their hectic lives. Normal group sessions are two hours long. When implementing meditation the same length of group time will be necessary for billing purposes. The two hour session will be distributed with the first 30 minutes consisting of meditation and the last hour and a half consisting of discussion. The meditation will be led by the primary group counselor or myself. The goal of meditation is to reduce chemical and substance use and abuse by the patients of Huther Doyle.
Privacy, confidentially and informed consent are all important elements in action research. Prior to conducting a study, it is necessary
The purpose of this research by Sanderson, Kearney, Kissell, & Salisbury (2016) was to evaluate the use of video-recorded clinical practice effectiveness in providing feedback to students and instructors. The first objective was to assess dental hygiene students’ ability to self-assess correctly. The second objective was to determine how effective clinical instructors graded students in real time. Self-evaluation is a critical element in the dental hygiene profession, because it allows for successful growth and development.

The objective of the question needs to be understood, therefore will guide the layout of objectively. By following this procedure, it will validate the appropriate method to use during the study. In any human research, it is critical in conducting the research to receive written permission from the individual or group being studied (Cozby, 2014). Once written consent is received, it must be securely stored then a scanned copy that contains a security code to protect the confidentiality of participants.
Participants were thoroughly informed beforehand about the potential impact of the investigation. During the interview process caution was taken in order to do little to no harm to the participants and it was emphasized that the participant could withdraw from the study at any stage and did not have to answer any questions they were uncomfortable with.
‘Through free, exploratory play, children learn something about situations, people, attitudes and kinaesthetic attributes, dependent upon the play activity. Through directed play, they are proposed another dimension and a further range is possibilities extending to a relative mastery within that area of activity. Through subsequent extended free play activities children are likely to be able to enhance, enrich and manifest learning.’ (Moyles, J:1989:20)
The main idea of the research was built upon a general insight that was gathered by reviewing a number relevant literature and research papers. Therefore the perspective of the research was an objective view, instead of subjective view, which was built on a personal
The researcher followed ethical guidelines from BCS (2015). Avoiding harm to participants, was one of the most important issues, due to nature of the unstructured interviews, areas of sensitivity could have been delved into, thus care and sensitivity was needed always. The participants understood their right to withdraw at any time within the research (Boyce, Neale 2006). The researcher referred to the BSC Guidelines (2015), moreover, informed consent is number 4 (iii) in these guidelines. participants were initially approached with sample questions from the semi structured questionnaires, it was explained that follow up interviews would be conducted around these questions on a more informal level of conservation. Due to the unpredictable
There are several methods of qualitative methods like the survey research, correlation research, research based on the experiments. The survey research is based on the scientific sampling and the questions are designed to capture the population characteristics. The research is about finding the parameters for impact and significance of the culture in the extensive literature survey has been carried out to arrive at the factors, in addition to the annual reports and the archival data. The thesis also adopts qualitative research technique to study about the parameters that were necessary for successful implementation. The research method adopted is the survey. The qualitative methods are widely used in the field of social science because of their ability to produce the same kind of the results. The parameters can be studied by
Research methodology is a way how the research is conducted step by step and in order. There are two methods used for data collection which is the primary data and secondary data. These data can be obtained and used many ways. The data is taken and analyzed in advance to produce a result that we can use for research and future reference. This study will relate to the objective we want to achieve and finding the answer to every objective we seek. In order to successfully achieve the objectives we seek, we must know
The qualitative research is a totally subjective rather than previous method with lots of texts along the research process without any statistics and mathematics techniques. The planning process is supposed to be the time saving activity but analysis stage is regarded as a time consuming activity. Moreover, analysis phase is much difficult rather than in the quantitative method
This proposed research work was a qualitative research in its very nature of data collection and analysis. It has covered the empirical type of research methodology as for data collection the researcher had to visit the spot and talk to the stakeholders directly. Besides, from the point of authenticity and nature of data collection it can be categorized as the ethnographic research, as well.
