Statement on Approach to Teaching and Advising Much has evolved since my initial years at South Dakota State University when I had no teaching appointment. During those initial years I took advantage of any available opportunity to increase my college level teaching experience mostly in the form of guest lectures in ABS 704 and other courses where I lectured on Plant Functional Genomics and Abiotic Stresses. Based on this experience, I developed Independent Study opportunities for interested students in wheat molecular breeding and in plant genomics. Interest in this area was strong enough that I expanded it into a regular course and offered it as a special topic (“Introduction to Plant Genomics”) starting in the fall of 2009. Those early years afforded me time and opportunities to informally interact with diverse faculty to keep maturing my teaching philosophy and approaches. Although most of my teaching in the last years is at the graduate level, I have a special consideration for ABS482-582, an international experience to discover the agricultural industry in Argentina. In 2007, I was part of the team that developed this course. Unfortunately, due to an important health problem in my family I was not able to attend the first trip. Later on, in 2011, due to unexpected faculty turnover, I was able to co-lead the course. During the fall semester the students attended introductory lectures in Argentinian agriculture, economics, politics, culture and basic Spanish skills.
“With the dawn of the 16th century, there came together in Europe both the motivation and the means to explore and colonize territory across the seas” With respect to religion, trade, and technology this seems to be a valid quote referring to the 16th century and how Europeans were able to accomplish colonization and exploration on the other half of the globe.
The function of assessment in learning and development is to provide a measure for the learners progress.

Ever since graduate school, Barbara McClintock liked to study corn. And this started at Cornell! Her interest in genetics started with her first undergraduate genetics course. Her interest earned her a phone call from her genetics professor, Dr. Hutchison, which invited her to a graduate level genetics course; this call “cast the die” for her future—she intended to pursue genetics.
During our guest speaker series, we had some great representatives of agricultural education come to our class. Each one had a different job relating to agricultural education. Although these jobs are different, they strive to meet the same goal: to educate people on agriculture.
As a current student striving to be accepted into medicine I will be required to undertake the UMAT examination. I have always been interested in the relevance of the examination, how it is perceived by people and whether students are the key people it ‘serves’. To gain a basic understanding of the purpose of the UMAT I conducted preliminary research, utilising the ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research) website, who were the developers and write the examination every year. I obtained sources through the use of google scholar to locate relevant and highly reliable sources.
The assessor will be required to follow a range of policies and practises set by the regulatory bodies of standards, for example, Ofqual, Sector skills council, Institute of learning. Other regulations such as, health and safety, equality and diversity, data protection, risk assessment, etc will be discussed below.
Over the past decade there has been an increasing focus on the delivery of high quality, person centred compassionate care in the UK. This focus on compassionate care has been prompted by a number of enquiries which have identified the lack of compassionate care as being a key failing not simply in relation to the professional behaviour of individuals, but within the organisational design of care as a whole (Francis, 2013; Department of Health, 2012a). The reports highlight that it is frequently frail and vulnerable patients that have been particularly at risk of receiving poor care. It has been suggested that as the NHS has moved to a more business led approach responding to financial constraints and a target driven political context, it has been at the cost of caring elements of healthcare being neglected (Francis, 2013).
Throughout my years of high school, I found that the time spent in the classroom learning was enjoyable, but also served as a crucial stepping stone to further my education. In math classes, I learned how to problem solve and developed analytical skills. Through the Chemistry and Physics classes, I found an interest in learning about the science I encounter in ordinary life situations. In addition, I gained a pivotal passion for agriculture by taking agriculture classes. From my positive experiences in agriculture, science, and math classes, I found the ideal combination of these interests in my intended career path of
The paper will examine and appraise a teaching session that I planned and implemented as a nursing student on a cardiology ward, in the form of a reflection what? So what? Now what? (Bortons, 1970). The aim of the teaching session is to provide up to date and relevant information to enable individuals to make an informed choices on there nutritional intake.

Preparation for Mentorship and Assessing Introduction. Learning in practice is an important part of the curriculum and accounts for approximately 50% of the pre-qualifying nursing programme in the UK (Andrews and Roberts, 2003). Supporting students to learn is an important function for both educators and practitioners and thus teaching, assessing and mentoring are fundamental aspects of nurses' roles and responsibilities. The quality of the clinical learning environment is a national priority for both Trusts and Higher Education Institutes (Rapson, Holding and Shepherd, 2003).
Assessment is the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and development (Palomba & Banta, 1999). Educational assessments are carried out to measure the efficiency of the program, the quality of instruction and progress of a child’s learning. The purpose is to determine the growth and development.
This paper was chosen because it is significant to evaluate the theories of learning taught by very important psychologist, and the different ways they can be applied to life. It is also noteworthy to state that the techniques of these theories differ from one psychologist to another. Correspondingly, this author believes there are several ways that people can be reinforced in the process of learning. This lesson covers the definition of learning, different types of learning, and, also, discusses learning styles. Furthermore, the author will similarly focus on illustrating and describing how individuals can apply the latter in a biblical aspect. Ultimately, after reading this paper, the reader should have a better insight into the process of learning in which an individual experiences permanent, lasting changes in knowledge, behaviors, and ways of processing the world.
I don’t think that the expert’s comments are adequate for the administrators to fill out the rating form correctly since a product should be studied by all the major stakeholders for a complete rating. Internal customers (Employees), External customers, Users, retailers, distributers everyone should give their ratings and feedback to the product so that the real utility and product standing can be known in contrast to the competitors. Also, most of the administrators might be biased or convinced to rate Excellent so, the expert’s recommendations will not be sufficient to get most of the administrators to fill out the rating forms properly. Because of this rating it will not going to improve ability and skills of secretaries and clerks.
