According to the constitution, i think that the legislative branch has the most power because they’re the ones who control the laws for our country , control actions made by the president, and they are in charge of the states. The legislative branch controls laws for the country. The legislative branch makes the laws for the country. (Article 1, section 7). The legislative branch is in charge of creating laws for the u.s.This shows that the legislative branch has the right of making laws for our country. And they have the power to create new laws when needed.Another example of a power is, “The House and Senate both need to vote to pass a law(Article 1, section 7).”The house of representatives and the senate make a vote to see if they’re laws can get passed. This shows us that the legislative branch also has the authority to pass laws become laws and to prevent laws from becoming laws. …show more content…
An example of this in the text is ,”if the President vetoes the law, then the House and Senate can vote again on it. If 2/3rds of both approve, it can become a law anyway.”The house of representatives and the senate make a vote to see if they’re laws can get passed. This shows us that the congress can stop a veto made by the president. This is a power they have over the president. Another example of this in the text is,”The President appoints the heads of all the departments, appoints ambassadors, appoints Federal judges and appoints Supreme Court Justices. The Senate must confirm all nominations.” The president can choose the leaders of all departments, ambassadors, federal judges and supreme court judges. And the senate has to approve his choices. This shows that though the president appoints these people, the senate has to confirm these selections, which is another power they have over the president, (another reason why they have the most
In our government today, we have the following three branches: legislative branch, judicial branch, and the executive branch- being the most powerful. The legislative branch is run by Congress, including the House of Representatives and the Senate. The legislative branch is responsible to make laws. The judicial branch is headed by the Supreme Court. This branch is responsible for interpreting the Constitution and reviewing laws. Lastly, the executive branch is responsible for many things such as vetoing laws, directing the government, commanding armed forces, and more. This branch is run by the president which is why it is the most powerful of the three. The constitution declared to divide the nation's power into these
Executive power is vested in the office of the President of the United States. The President has the dual role of being the chief of state and the head of government. The President is also commander in chief of the armed forces. He issues executive orders, and appoints Supreme Court justices (with senate approval). The president is also called "the chief legislator" because he indirectly proposes many bills, considers all bills from Congress and signs them into law or vetoes them.
The branch that I feel is the uttermost powerful is the Legislative. I say this considering the legislative branch deals with all the laws and, everything has to be passed by them in order for it to become a real law and etc . The legislative branch is made up of two houses in congress . Which is made up of the Senate and the house of representatives . In total there are 100 senators out of all of the States and they are elected by the state and the serve 6 year terms . The vice - president is said to be in charge of the senators . The House of representatives has 435 representatives . The number of representatives is determined by how prodigious each state is . The state of California has 53 representatives and is the state that has the greatest
Our Legislative branch of government has many powers granted and denied/outlined by our Constitution. These powers include (but are not
The legislative branch is the most powerful branch in government. The legislative branch is in charge of making and passing laws. They have the power to override a president’s decision, stop laws from being passed, and basically control all decisions the governments makes. The legislative branch, also called the congress, consists of the House of Representatives and the senate. The reason for two houses of congress is to balance out the concerns of smaller but more populated states against states that are larger but with less population (www.Usgovinfo.com).
the legislative branch makes the laws for the country. I believe this because in the past articles i have read i have gathered my information and these are some of them. The house and the senate both need to pass a law, has to sign it to make it an actual law. The legislative branch makes the laws
A power that the executive branch has over the legislative branch is that the president, executive branch, can veto any laws that the congress, legislative branch, may try to pass.
This back me up because they can make law or change it or they can make thing include passing laws originating spending bills and that why i think they're strong because they have power to include the law with the congress ‘’The main task of these two bodies is to make the laws and Its powers include passing laws, originating spending bills’’
The Legislative Branch is one out of the three branches of the government. All the branches of the federal government play a super important part in Government. However, the Legislative Branch is the strongest branch. All of the Legislative Branches privileges and powers are well-defined in the U.S Constitution. All of the Legislative Branches rights and powers are defined in the U.S Constitution. The U.S Constitution wanted to divide powers within the three branches of the federal government. The Legislative Branch is the strongest branch because they make laws, declare war, and override presidential veto, and
THESIS: The Legislative Branch consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate which forms the United States Congress; the Constitution grants Congress the single authority to pass legislation and declare war, the right to approve or reject Presidential appointments, and significant investigative powers.
Last, but not least, because they will have to rule or command. Meaning that Congress will be able to pass any laws that are necessary. That is why i think that the Legislative Branch has the most power according to the United States Constitution. Below i will write 3 paragraphs on why i think that the Legislative Branch has the most power according to the United States Constitution, explaining. ] [First of all,we have the right to vote.
The executive branch also has power over the legislative branch, keeping the balance of power. This is the power for the President to be able to veto a Congressional legislation (Doc C). This allows the president to be able to veto a congressional legislation if he believes it to be unfair, but the congress has some power to override one of the President’s vetoes. The judicial branch is given control over the legislative branch as well as the executive. The courts, which include the Supreme Court, the Courts of Appeal, and the District courts, are able to declare certain laws unconstitutional (Doc C).
Each of the three branches is controlled by the other two in several ways. The president can veto a law which was passed by Congress, yet Congress can override the veto with a two-thirds vote of both houses. Members of the Supreme Court, which are appointed by the president and approved by Congress, can declare a law passed by Congress is unconstitutional. The U.S. Constitution, Article 1 Section 1, states that the legislative branch be created from two separate bodies: a House of Representatives and a Senate, together is known as Congress.
I think the most powerful is the legislative branch. The legislative branch controls creation and advancement of bills. This means they create all of the laws. They also collect and spend all of our tax dollars, which is a big deal because they decide what things, like education, get funded. Congress also has the power to send the greatest military force in history to war, and can impeach members of the executive and judicial branch.
The legislative branch is also the “only part of the government that can make new laws or change existing laws.”("white house"). A society is formed and controlled by rules and regulations, those who make these rules and regulations basically control society. The president does have the power to veto any law he doesn’t approve of, but if Congress is in accord with the Senate they can “override his veto with two thirds vote of each chamber.”("white house") ounce again subordinating the president . When the legislative branch has both houses in coalition with each other the executive branch really has no power over the legislative branch.
