Statement Of Purpose
“Give me a firm place to stand and I will move the earth,” Archimedes once said. Similar sentiments resonate within my mind as I embark on the penultimate round of my race to my goals. My confidence is never shaken because I firmly believe that the answer lies within each individual. As far as I am concerned, I have set my sights on my goals and am willing to do all within my powers to reach out to them.
Bill Gates has rightly said, “Its fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.” I have been trying to understand the true meaning of entrepreneurship in due course of my Under Graduate Course in Business Administration. While studying the subject “Entrepreneurship Development”, I recognized my deep interest in entrepreneurship and innovation. I believe that every person has the ability to innovate; all they need is a motivating factor, direction and support which a Masters Programme at an esteemed university of your stature will provide me and help me to be a successful entrepreneur.

The port of Shanghai spanning over 1,000 years, was where the Ming’s naval expeditions were launched and was place of hectic trading, where fortunes were made and lost. My parents are both civil engineers and my childhood was spent on this unique river and Deepwater port, witnessing the harbour sweep into a grandiose showpiece of a booming economy. I watched basic structures integrated piece by piece and eventually form spectacular architectures.
Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” For this reason, I believe that everyone should have the best education as possible. Among all of the other university that are available for me, I choose Loyola Marymount University as the source for my education and I have never regret the decision that I made at the acceptance day. As an entrepreneurship major student in this University, I receive all the resources that I needed to be as an entrepreneur who can change the world. Entrepreneurship education has been lauded as being able to create and increase awareness as well as promote self-employment as a career choice among young people (Clayton 1989; Fleming 1996). The objectives of entrepreneurship education are aimed in changing student’s state of behaviours and even intention that makes them to understand entrepreneurship, to become entrepreneurial and to become an entrepreneur that finally resulted in the formation of new businesses as well as new job opportunities (Fayolle and Gailly 2005; Hannon 2005; Venkatachalam and Waqif 2005). These day, many graduates are unable to get a job upon graduation. Students are now apparently searching for a business education that can help them with the necessary entrepreneurial

In order for a business to survive and prosper, more emphasis should be placed or entrepreneurship education as opposed to business education ( Isaacs et al.,2007:611) A competed and educated management is a vital factor that contributes to a competitive business( Isaacs et al.,2007 610). Studying at University of Virginia was my first time living by myself in a foreign country. Turning to math seemed an easy choice for me because I had been passionate about math since elementary school. I started to learn Olympic Mathematics in second grade and enjoyed the challenging topics. I was soon able to learn by myself with the help of training in logical thinking. When I was forced to stay at home for a whole school year due to a heart problem, I read the textbooks on my own and passed the final exams so that I could continue with my class the next year. In fifth grade, I was able to understand abstract concepts such as linear equations and use x and y to represent unknown variables. Winning numerous Olympic Mathematics competitions awards got me into the best middle school and high school in Beijing, where I continued to pursue my affection in Olympic Mathematics. I received the medals of school winner and honor roll of distinction in AMC 12 and went further to AIME due to my outstanding

It is identified the proximity of universities and supporting services are two of such stimulating factors to overcome the challenges by using entrepreneurial energy and positive factors that encourage entrepreneurship (Bruno and Tyebjee 1982). However, the first entrepreneurship education at college-level course was offered by Harvard University in 1947; gathered momentum in business schools in the early 1970s and according to the Kauffman Centre for Entrepreneurial Leadership, it begun as a force in 2001 in the US. Entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities has expended over the last twenty years at undergraduate and graduate levels in Canada, Europe (Kuratko 2003) and in Australia (Peterman and Kennedy 2003; Jones and English 2004) where the origins of the Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship) date back to the mid 1990s (Chan 2005). Currently, Australian Universities offer more than 50 entrepreneurship courses ranging from units as part of the bachelor or master programs and bachelor programs with specialisation/ major/ minor in entrepreneurship to postgraduate programs in entrepreneurship including postgraduate diploma/certificate, masters’
Entrepreneurship is a very common term now-a-days and it is the dream of most business graduates to start up their own firm. Many business schools are offering courses on entrepreneurship. They feed the motivation to start up one’s own business and many college graduates have done it very successfully. They choose to start up their own venture instead of working for other existing companies. There are many reasons not to start up a business and there are many reasons to fail. But the most common thing that drives the entrepreneurs is that they were all hungry for success.
My uncle lived in Aizwal, and a few times a year we would visit him. His apartment had a television and it was a very exciting event to sit around the big screen with my brothers and sisters watching movies. Watching the Rogers and Hammerstein productions like The Sound of Music made a tremendous impact on my understanding of world music and song. We Mizo people love to sing and do so unselfconsciously. It is more a part of daily life than singing is in the West. However, our songs were so much different from the songs I heard from Julie Andrews. Although they had foreign sounding scales, these songs were magic to my ears. I taught myself the tunes from The Sound of Music and other landmarks of musical theater. These songs stuck in my head, and soon I had half the village singing "I Am Sixteen Going on Seventeen" with me, especially those who were turning seventeen.
Over the years, especially around the year 2000 till date, entrepreneurial education has taken different approaches in ensuring the effectiveness of the education system (Gibb & Price, 2014). These different approaches taken is to ensure the effectiveness and efficiencies of the outcome of entrepreneurial education in achieving its argued importance (Fayolle, 2007). Over time, continuous arguments had arisen among scholars pertaining to the contribution of entrepreneurial education towards influencing students to become entrepreneurs. For instance, the studies of Adelaja (2015), Lourenço, Jones, and Jayawarna (2015) and Elmuti, Khoury and Omran (2012) conclude positive influence of entrepreneurial education on intention to become entrepreneurs among students. While the conclusions from studies such as and St-Jean and Mathieu (2015), Bilić, et al. (2011) and Lorz (2011) conclude that entrepreneurial education has no significant relationship with the intention of students to become entrepreneurs.

It is a process of establishing a business organization for provision of goods and services, creation of jobs, and contribution to economic development ( Bilic, Prka, and Vidovic, 2010). Sata (2013) stated that entrepreneurship creates a significant opportunity for individuals to achieve financial independence and benefit the economy by contributing to job creation, innovation, and economic growth. Ma and Tan (2006), defined entrepreneurship as a generator of national prosperity and competitiveness. Entrepreneurship intention is the state of mind of an individual to foster creativity in a business venture (Rasli, Khan, Malekitfar, and Jabeen, 2013). Developing entrepreneurial mind among school students enable them to easily fit into the world of work after graduation. The increasing human population of many nations has continued to create a serious challenge to government and employers of labour. In many developing countries, thousands of people apply for jobs that are meant to take, but a few persons. This has resulted in many graduates roaming about the street with no hope of any meaningful means of livelihood. Graduates of technical
