Most students when the wake up feel drowsy or tired because they have to go to school before 8:00 am. Schools should have later start times for many reason some include that they just need more sleep and that if they do not get enough sleep it could be dangerous.

As Paul and Elder point out, critical thinking is self-guided and self-disciplined thinking that assists us in reasoning in a fairminded way (FOCT, 2017). It allows us as humans to live a conscious and consistent life where rationality, reasonability and empathy and present when faced with problems. While I am actively learning how to become a better critical thinker, I have learned that the first step to successfully think critically, I needed to diminish my power to think egocentric. You also could use a planner to help you remember when things are due and what you have going on that you need to plan around. Say you play a sport and you have to attend a game on Thursday and you have an essay due on Friday. You could plan ahead and get the essay done on Wednesday so all you have to do Thursday is look over it and then Friday you can turn it in. And if it’s already Thursday, you can work on it before the game, on the way to the game, on the way home from the game, and when you get home. You can turn in your work on Friday and not feel stressed and you can have a good time at the Friday night game.

It is very important that I use my time wisely and do not wait until the last minute to have my assignments completed. While I have job, my main priority is to finish school. Cutting my work hours, so I will have more time to focus on my school work, is just a minor thing that will ultimately pay off. I am, however, a huge procrastinator and therefore will have to work hard to keep my priorities well in mind

Ms. Askin: Sometimes I get up early in the morning just to prepare. If you are not prepared, your whole day will go wrong because your students will notice it. I may even have to prepare and catch up on the weekend. You can never be prepared enough.

Critical thinking is something I don’t do very often, sometimes I just judge from looking or listening to what I see or hear but this is something I will learn with time. To learn critical thinking I will follow the steps that are required because critical thinking is something we have to learn because we are not born critical thinking. One is identifying what we are talking about. Then we have to gather information about the theme that we are talking about. The next step is to look for evidence and consider alternatives or other people points of view. Sometimes we do not want to accept what other peoples opinion is about something and that is wrong because we might learn from them. Finally we choose the best possible alternative after we have gone thru all this. Using critical thinking will allow you to make better decisions not only in the work place but also in our day to day lives. Maybe one day you will have to make a life changing decision in your job.

I know have a list of short-term goals that will eventually help me reach my long-term goal of graduating with a business degree.

An obvious goal as a working adult returning to school is, of course, to earn a degree. My overall goal is no different than any other student, however, I also have several personal goals I hope to achieve while attending the University. Some of these goals are to acquire new skills and enhance my current business abilities, to apply what I learn in the classroom to forward my career, and to feel personal satisfaction of finishing something I started.

My second goal is to get an education that will allow me to get a job or a better job. It will also give me job security even though it may not necessary be at the same job but it will allow me the security of knowing that when I decide to move on I do not have to worry about what kind of salary I will be earning .With my degree there are many different opportunities for me.

Early classes seem to be the worst time for college freshman to take a class such as foreign language, but it is better for them at that time verses at a later time. The earliness of the class is what is dreaded most about the eight A.M. Many feel they would function better if they had class at 10 A.M, but the truth is waking up at an earlier time enhances the productivity of the students. According to Health Ambition, “waking up early helps you maintain a healthier diet, enhances your productivity, gives you better mental health, gives you more time to exercise, improves your quality of sleep, and helps you enjoy quiet time.” Waking up earlier makes the day go by quicker. Yes, it would be nice to be able to wake up at 10 or 11 A.M but the tendency to get more tired
