It is important that there is a variety of safe toys, equipment, and materials that are age appropriate for the children. There should also be low shelves for easy access to toys and storage. When students feel safe they are more willing to talk about themselves to others and the teacher. Establish relationships with your students and build a sense of community within your classroom.
