I don’t think they acted in an ethical manner. They were communicating for the disabled children and making crazy allegations on their behalf. It was mentioned that they didn’t realize they were influencing the disabled person so much, but they had to have some knowledge of what they were doing. Everyone who was involved with Facilitated communication loved it and thought it was a great program so they didn’t question it at all. That’s very unethical because they were looking past all of the signs of error. Usually the disabled person was not looking at the keyboard at all, while the facilitator was staring directly at it. This should have thrown up red flags because it’s nearly impossible to type with one finger without looking. Since the
In the world today, when you hear the words AT&T, Cox Cable, DirectTV and Comcast the first thing that would typically come to mind is enjoying sports and family television. Often time’s customers don’t really know into the weeds of a company until something goes wrong. A consumer may find interest in the event they have bought stocks into a company and they see it all fall. Companies such as this service millions and millions of people all over the world. It is sad to know that some of these organizations while looking squared away on the inside have such serious ethical issues going on or that went on within their organization. The last thing a customer wants to do is tune into the t.v. and find out that one of their providers was

If i was a medical assistant at the Good Samaritan home my duty-based ethics would make me bring this to someone's attention. Being focused on the individual the things that the young women where doing to the residents was unacceptable. As a healthcare provider it is your
1. The Mayor of a large city was given a free membership in an exclusive golf club by people who have received several city contracts. Do you think Haley Romeros’s decision to shut down the Clayton facility is ethical? Explain.
Healthcare organizations have a moral and social responsibility to ensure that their communications are conducted using an outlined code of ethics. Whether the communication is an internal message to employees or mission outreach in the community, it must reflect the values and beliefs of the organization. Therefore, in order to establish and maintain the standard of ethical behavior and social responsibility, our organization requires all employees to complete new employee orientation sessions that define the policies and expectations. This orientation introduces our mission and values and it develops the foundation for our success as an organization. Our focus on encouraging and communicating ethical practices helps to reinforce our values to employees and the community. Furthermore, there should be a process in place that monitors and enforces the policies to safeguard against potential errors that would reflect poorly on the organization’s mission.
The greatest moral issue on the NY Med segment was filming and then releasing the last moments of Mr. Chanko’s life without his permission, nor his families permission. Mr. Chanko has, as all do, a right to privacy during any medical incident. The fact that his care team allowed individuals who were not there to make him better is a clear error in moral judgment. Furthermore, the idea that they then shared this incident with the rest of the world, without receiving permission from him, or anyone else in his family, is another clear moral error. Mr. Chanko had the right to privacy, and those final moments should have forever stayed in the emergency room between his caregivers and himself.
The video “In Search of Common Ground: Remaking Public Policy on Human Life Issues” presents a multitude of ethical decisions faced by our society. The video describes issues surrounding capital punishment, abortion, genetic testing and assisted suicide. As described by Joseph Cardinal Bernadin, he states “each human life has a sacredness”. This is very similar to the social work value of respecting human dignity. As social workers, we believe that each individual person is to be treated with respect, dignity and self worth.
To me it just sounded like a witch-hunt on these mothers, there was nothing about how to prevent this nor was there a focus on trying to correct the child’s condition.

Ethical behavior is often seen as amoral when used for persuasive purposes. This is possible because persuasion may be used in unethical situations as well as ethical situations. Either way, it depends upon the person who is trying to persuade others. Adolf Hitler is an excellent example of someone who persuaded millions of people to behave unethically. On the other hand, Mother Teresa used persuasion for ethical reasons by caring for the sick and the orphaned, and because of this has impacted an entire world.

Communication is constant, especially in the information age. Savvy professionals know how to communicate quickly, effectively and ethically. The term "ethical communication" has different meanings depending on the context. A shampoo advertiser and a sports team spokesperson may have dissimilar views on what constitutes as ethical communication. Some communication guidelines are only applicable to certain situations, while others could be understood as ethical in one situation and unethical in another. Every aspect of ethical communication should be considered within the boundaries of the issue at hand.
