2. Tiger became noticed by the world at the ripe old age of two yrs.
Cheerleading began for me at the age of twelve. In the past I had played soccer, basketball, softball, did ballet. Basically every activity my mom could possibly put me in. All of those activities were okay, but cheerleading became something that was special to me. I first began cheering in middle school for the Hazelwood West Junior Wildcats. I cheered on the team throughout middle school literally dedicating all of my free time to cheerleading. I lived, ate, and dreamed cheer. I went on to continue cheering throughout my high school career, cheering for all Hazelwood West athletics, including: soccer, football, basketball, and wrestling. I was a hardcore dedicated athlete, and I had spirit like no other. From
Is College Worth It Research All parents want their children to go to college, even if it costs them a fortune. Everybody wants to full-fill the “American Dream” by going to college and making good with their lives. College graduates are usually happy that they went to college because it makes them happy that they made their parents proud.
The 2017 trip to Orlando was great. I was in serious need of some days off from work, and that trip provided that. I know that most of you did not make it, but you were greatly missed. Those that made it, it was such a blessing to see you.
Over the course of this semester, the three essays that I wrote were the exploratory essay, “A Cute Condition” (12 pages), the personal narrative, “Lost and Found” (11 pages), and the profile essay, “Not for the Faint of Heart” (12 pages). After rereading my twelve-page exploratory essay, “A Cute Condition,” I was surprised by how I differently I felt about the essay at this point in the semester compared to when I first turned it in. This was an essay about cuteness and the baby schema effect. It was inspired by Joshua Slice’s animations about Lucas the Spider. Before I read this essay again, I wanted to say that this first essay was the one that I was most proud of because of the effort that I put into finding the sources and linking them
Everyone of us has wondered if we were going to go to a four year college at some point of our life right? But is it worth going to, is the question we should be wondering. Some students may wonder if a four year college is worth spending four years of their life on. On the other hand, some students may have their minds set that a four year college isn’t worth spending their time on.However, a four year college education is worth spending four years for, to help students with their future careers.
Vivian Le Ms.Rose English 3P, Per.2 14 May 2015 College Is Worth It High school graduates attend college for many different reasons whether for career development or increasing one’s knowledge. Students who do graduate from college with a degree have increased job opportunities and financial advantages. However, more and more graduates are rethinking going to college because they are not “college material” or don’t have enough money to pay for their tuition. Although many people believe that college is not necessary to be successful in the future, in actuality attending college is critical because obtaining a college degree allows students to gain more knowledge and advantages for their future.
The professor Calderhead advised the class to write an outline to clarify the ideas properly in order to write a detailed and informative research paper. I think in this way I can have a big picture of what to write about. According to my outline, the first sub-topic connected to my research on “Have government actions made New York City safer after 9/11” is related to terrorism.
On Thursday, November 16th, my class took a fieldtrip to the Southeast Technical Institute, however, I was unable to attend, this paper is over the research I did on the college.
2. According to the Reproductive Rights Blog, the $114.5 million teen pregnancy prevention project signed into law by President Obama in December 2009 establishes a major turning point in U.S. sex education policy, according to a new analysis published in the Winter 2010 issue of the Guttmacher Policy Review. The project replaces many of the most firm and ineffective abstinence-only programs, which by law were required to have nonmarital abstinence promotion as their “exclusive purpose” and were prohibited from discussing the benefits of contraception.
Bam! It hit me like a speeding truck. Two weeks in Cuzco, Peru had shown me what it is really like to be struggling in all areas in life. This specific mission trip showed me outside our borders there are people in need of basic necessities in life. I spent the better of two weeks learning about myself and the people I was determined to help. Teaching has always been a part of my life, however, after these two weeks, I learned that teaching is exactly what I want to do with my career. The students I was able to work with had not had a proper education, and my teaching them put them that much farther into a life they hadn't imagined ever having. The compassion and empathy I felt in my heart for my students had shown me that teaching is the right
The impact that after school programs have on young children affects every aspect of their lives. Although some may feel after school programs are a waste of time and money, it has been proven that they improve children’s social and academic skills. Without these special designed programs, children may not be able to develop into the kinds of adults which will benefit society in the future. It is important that society understand the importance of after school programs. To cut back on after school programs to better the economy is only taking away from the children and opening new doors to them, which can ultimately lead them to jail or possibly
There is more risk involved in a making a field trip than in attending a typical day at school. The travel is longer, the destination is new and unknown.
I started my undergraduate career as a psychology major at UC Davis, where I was interested in understanding human behavior and identity formation. As I progressed in my studies, I became increasingly focused on collective memory--specifically, how we construct narratives to make meaning from our experiences. This trajectory led me to obtain bachelor’s degrees with both Film Studies and History.
I went to The Art Institute of Chicago on a Thursday when it was free for Illinois resident and when there were different exhibitions going on. There was long line at the entrance near the museum at 6pm in the evening. I went alone because I thought I can have better focus on picking a good art work. I was ready to go through all the magnificent paintings for my art museum paper. As I walked through the museum, there were colorful Indian Modern art exhibited for the occasion. They were big and vibrant. The was also a special exhibition of Tarsila Do Amaral, one of the leading Latin American Modernist artist who paint like Cubism, Futurism and expressionism. Her artworks were childlike in terms of the painting style of objects and people. I was most fond of the modernist and contemporary part of the gallery with painters like Salvador Dali and Francis Bacon. I was fascinated with Salvador Dali’s Venus de Milo with Drawers. The drawers unnaturalistically located on a human body was intriguing. The depth of the human mind and subconsciousness are creatively represented by these drawers on Venus de Milo. Francis bacon’s work Figure with meat was not bad either. Figure with Meat is a disturbing depiction of Pope Innocent X sat in front of a cow carcass cut lengthways in half. (Gould) Like his other painting, the theme is dark and twisted. The carcass is included serve as a direct reminder that death will be at the end await
