“Music is a more potent instrument than any other for education”, spoken from the famous philosopher and mathematician, Plato. School around the country have been excluding the music and arts programs in their curriculum. Americans need to start to stand up for their children’s freedom to be able to express themselves through fine arts. When students have the opportunity to associate with music and art schooling, countless courses of actions take place that will help with the development of the brain. However why the fine art programs must be targeted is perplexing, when there could be extremely poor consequences to losing the music and art in student’s schedules. Including the music and arts programs at our schools, it helps in further ways than just one, for example it helps the brain, and language development. Music education helps enhance those natural abilities, which are used to interpret sounds and words. Recent studies have shown clearly that musical training physically develops the left part of the brain, which is known to be involved with processing language. Although why fine arts are the first to be cut, is considering that they are not the most pronounced program to bring in money. Schools are also cutting fine arts, by reasoning of that the programs require a large percentage of the budget, but studies have also shown that football is the best funded program in many high schools, so why not have the funding be cut equally to all programs to keep them. Even though the programs would probably have to be somewhat smaller, however, I feel like that would be more reasonable than just cutting the fine art completely. Therefore, why the fine arts must be cut is bewildering, when there are various routes that the schools can take, plus there could be a possibility of problems with losing the fine arts
