The Brain’s Frontal Lobes Actions
The frontal lobe and the following other parts of the frontal lobe section of the brain have many functions. The frontal lobe part of the brain connects to many other structural parts of the brain, connected to mini sections of which creates different effects to the lobe. Which are the prefrontal cortex, orbitofrontal cortex, primary motor cortex, and premotor cortex.
The prefrontal cortex is located within the frontal lobe, but it takes up the majority of the lobe. The function of the prefrontal cortex is the crucial performance, and skill it provides within the brain which requires intelligence. The brain is located in many different subjects, such as a human, mammal, and animal. When discussing the prefrontal cortex, it’s known to many that it’s larger in certain primates and it tends to be that way but not in mammals. It is also known to be larger in the human brain compared to other primates’ brains. The reason of this is because of the high amount of the level planning which is correlated by the members that have different species. The majority of the mammal population operate on most likely the first instinct, which they don’t live within complex social groups. The primates are the ones with the complex with both male and female which the hierarchies hatches the plans towards each other

This area is known as the anterior in which includes the medial part in the prefrontal cortex. A human individual that could possibly run into damaging this area of the brain could potentially have the normal and/or superior intelligence. Which is usually tested by IQ programs, and studies. The IQ test could lack some rudimentary concepts of the many manners and the appropriate actions within the social contexts. Then it becomes possible to lose all risk of the aversion which makes it clear of the knowledge of the bad consequences.
Cognitive Neuroscience is the study of the structure and function of the human brain and how it plays a role in in our everyday mental processes. To date the idea of how the mind and body are connect and able to interact is still being studied. As Banich (2011) states, it is the the critical part that links the brain and mind which also encompasses neural processes. Neuroscience gives a
67) The frontal lobes are described as the brain’s “orchestra leader” (Martin, 1998, p. 190), which would place them at the reins of controlling effective behaviour. Damage to the frontal lobes encompasses a wide range of symptoms including deficits in executive functioning, changes in personality, emotional expression and social interaction. This includes apathy and lack of spontaneity, inability to plan and modify the sequencing of behaviour and inappropriate behaviour. 2
Imagine a football player is tackled and hits the back of his head. As a result, his brain has hit the back of the cranium, then the front.
The frontal lobe is located at the front of the brain and is associated with reasoning, motor skills, higher level cognition, and expressive language.
The right and left frontal lobes at the front of the brain are involved in mood, social behaviour, attention, judgement, planning and self-control. Damage can lead to reduced intellectual abilities and changes in personality, emotion and behaviour.
Creating the world's first Z-Bomb, would have to be the most dangerous thing that could happen to humans. Turning them into Zombies, it would entirely change the characteristics of a human being and its brain. Although both living, Zombies have drastic defects towards certain aspects of the body. This Z-bomb won’t necessarily turn humans into zombies, but rather give humans zombie-ish characteristics.
The Frontal lobe holds a very high position in the brain and is located directly in the front of the brain. This lobe conducts the entire decision making process and also has connections with memory, emotion and an individual’s personality. “But it is also
Let’s begin by discussing the parts and function of our brains. The neo cortex is the largest part of the brain and the most important. This part of the brain is divided into four different sections: the temporal lobe, occipital lobe, parietal and the frontal lobe. These four sections are located on either the right or left hemisphere of the brain they are connected by axons that send messages to and fro between both hemispheres and to specific parts of the brain then to the body. Our neo cortex is what makes us so different from our primate cousins.
The Prefrontal Cortex is involved in planning of behavior, attention and judgment and the orbitofrontal cortex plays an important role in emotions and impulse control. This is related to the article because in order for people to feel empathy, their orbitofrontal cortex has to function. To act the way people do when approached by their competitors, people need their prefrontal cortex to act how they would. The article does not necessarily contradict any of the content we learned but it gives examples of how there structures in our brain aid in our behavior and in the way we act. If these parts of our brain weren’t working, people would experience impulsiveness, antisocial behavior, experience of various emotions and deficits in the ability
Your best friend invites you over for pizza and a friendly game of cards. The parts of the brain that will be invovled during your evening are going to be the functions that we use in our common sense scenerio. Meaning our everyday lives. The more abstract things like memory from past meetings, our ability to have a conversation, the images your eyes take in, your inner ear, and the association area of the brain. These functions relate back to using the broca's area, hippocompus, hypothalamus, and the occipital lobe.
Many studies have concluded that the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (or vmPFC) appears to provide the inhibition of emotional responses (Carlson, 2013). This region of the brain provides the mind with the faculties of self-restraint or self-control.
The cerebral cortex is the largest outer most part of the brain. It consist of tissue known as gray matter which is made of neuronal bodies. The optimal function of the cerebral cortex is vitally important. All information necessary to sustain life is stored and processed in the cerebral cortex. The tissue are divided into the left and right sides which are joined together by the corpus callosum. The cerebral cortex is divided into four lobes, the frontal, parietal, occipital, and temporal lobe. Each area carrying its own set of functions and responsibilities. These four lobes together make up the primary somatosensory area of the brain which controls the five sensory systems in the brain taste, olfaction, touch, hearing and vision. These systems receive sensory information from the thalamic nerve projections. The primary motor area of the brain consist of a much smaller area located within
The orbitofrontal cortex is a part of the brain that is located superiorly to the eye socket and inferiorly to the frontal lobe. Part of its function is that it is involved in the regulation of reward-orientated behaviour, inhibiting unwanted behaviour as well as being involved with emotions and decision making (Swartz, L et al, 2011).
location of the frontal lobe in the brain, it is at high risk of damage, in head trauma case to the
The frontal lobe is directly at the front part of the brain and this particular lobe controls the thinking process, language, planning, making decisions, and also controls your behavior as well as your emotions. There are three main sections of the frontal lobe which is the prefrontal cortex, the premotor area, and the motor area. The most important function of the frontal lobe is that it contains the motor cortex. The motor cortex has cells that control the movements of our body’s voluntary muscles and sends commands to the PNS (Peripheral Nervous System). The prefrontal cortex job is for high cognitive thinking and also plays a factor when it comes to your personality. The premotor area is known for helping the body move by integrating sensory information and controlling the muscles that are closest to the body’s main axis. The left frontal lobe side of the brain develops the process of speech and language known as the Broca’s area. In the event that damage takes place to the Broca’s Area, it will cause a person to have speech difficulties and their brain will be able to process the information yet the patient will still have difficulties when it comes to speech. In the event that the front part is damaged it can cause so many complications and issues. Difficulty retaining information, apathy, delayed response to questions, scatterbrained, and inappropriate social behavior. If the back part of the frontal lobe is damaged it can cause extreme weakness and in some cases
