For this week internship, I have attended GVAHEC staff meeting on Monday September 11 at apache Junction location. They usually do staff meeting every first Monday of the month to discuss about their organization, but for this month, they had to postponed the meeting to the second Monday of the month due to unavailability of some staff members. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how to make the organization function better. One thing that they focused on during the meeting was the sponsorship opportunity. They want to look for more agencies that can fund their organization. So, some people came up with new idea, which has been taken into consideration. I believe that every month, each staff member is required to participate any meeting …show more content…
Remember that one of GVAHEC’s missions is to educate underserved population about healthy behavior. One staff member attended excel training, she also shared her knowledge about how to protect their system from hackers. Another person attended community health graduation. GVAHEC provides support to healthcare students who have financial problem, so, some of their students have graduated. I think this meeting was very useful to me because I have learned some new things. For example, I have learned how to look for fund raising opportunity, so, in the future, if I work with an organization that needs sponsor, I think I can help. I have also learned through this meeting that when I will be working with this type organization, it is very important to learn new things from other organizations that will help my organization to prosper. On Wednesday September 13, I went to the Phoenix location. We have finished our project regarding St Mary’s food bank presentation. So, two weeks from now, we will be presenting. I have learned many things through this project. For example, in my future career, if I am asked to conduct a project to educate people on healthy behavior, I think I will feel more comfortable to do

Once loans are repaid, the money can be used to fund new loans and help more impoverished individuals. Throughout high school I have participated in color guard which has allowed me to strengthen my organizational and leadership skills. I have taken these abilities to arrange the project and inform all members of the opportunity. My presentation skills have greatly improved since the start of this project though the numerous displays of the goals and procedures. To reach all members this year, I plan to attend meeting held by other sponsors for other grade levels to provide a personal announcement of the Kiva Project.

My keen admiration for children became one of my main passions and led me to join Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc., whose philanthropic mission focuses on children's education and literacy. Because this played such an immense factor in molding my adolescent years, I wanted to show and help children understand how essential these concepts are in life. Since August of 2010, I have volunteered countless hours at the Boys and Girls Club in Athens in hopes of reaching out to these children. Furthermore, by being apart of this sorority, I was able to provide funds to improve the instruction of children not only in the Athens community but also in third world countries through book and school supply fundraisers. I became very passionate about this organization and its beneficiaries, the main being CARE India, which focuses on providing access to essential medical and healthcare for underprivileged women and children in India. My passion for children and my country has heightened my ambition of providing reliable healthcare to individuals in
Health care providers can overcome differing points of view regarding health promotion and disease prevention by creating a learning environment built on mutual trust, respect and acceptance. The goal is to provide education that is built upon the individual or group strengths that empower and engage the group/individual to be an active participant. It should encourage decision-making that positively affects lifestyle and health behavior changes.
As I would see it, this is one of the greatest slip-ups an organization can make. Aside from little organizations, the meeting procedure is normally very long and includes
By participating in this service project, I have learned that it is important to take part in activities that benefit
College students and others can enhance the agency’s program by following my experience and volunteering and educating themselves on behavioral health. Raising money to provide resources needed to help the Cone Health team and their patients fight their issues would also substantially aide the program. Some of my top suggestions for fundraisers include a car wash on the weekend, a bake sale in the midst of a long-awaited sporting event, and selling bracelets that bring light to specific behavioral illnesses. On December 2nd, 2015 was the healthcare convention at Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary School. In the convention, all gr 10, 11, and 12 students of Mrs.Nightingale’s class participated and had booths talking about different topics. Grade 10 students do games based on health, grade 11 students research different countries and compare their healthcare system to Canada’s, and grade 12 students choose a “hot topic” and research it to present on the day of the convention. However, there were no grade 10 students this year, only grade 11 and 12.
To this day, this culture of service continues and is evident to me by the administration, student body, and faculty’s preventative medicine initiatives. Initiatives such as, providing medical help by encouraging students to participate in student-run free health clinics as well as providing uncompensated medical and dental care to its local community. In addition to providing help, MMC focuses on educating the community with the use of health programs, the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved, and Project C.O.P.E designed to help HIV/AIDS patients. Other initiatives that I desire to be a part of involve the use of research endeavors to help not only local communities, but also global communities such as Dr. Villalta’s research into diseases found in Latin America. Through its altruistic vision MMC has established a culture of service that has inspired many, as well as myself to accomplish great things not only in the local Nashville community, but also in the
Now, they are expanding into the culture and that principle, as well as the success they create, to helping improve the communities in which they as well as their clients live and work. That means accepting responsibility to help address some of the most pressing problems facing those communities, and providing opportunities for those who work with us to do the same. Starting in 2016, Advisors Excel has made a commitment to deploying a group of approximately 50 employees one afternoon a week to help in the community. Whether it’s helping at the local food bank, volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, assisting with neighborhood cleanup efforts and helping organize and staff, community events, Advisors Excel will donate roughly 5,000 hours of volunteer time to its home community every year. They believe in making an impact — for their clients and those they serve, and for our communities. In 2015, Advisors Excel committed $500,000 to Feeding America®, the nation’s largest
work as a Dietitian in Wemindji Cree community. My responsibilities include nutrition counseling out-patients at the clinic and promoting healthy lifestyles in the community. My job is to educate and guide community members to achieve their best health. When I began working at the clinic, I realized that there were high rates of absenteeism for appointments, high staff turnover and inconsistency in health promotion programming. I felt that these barriers were halting me from performing my duties. Hence, I decided to find other means to offer nutrition programming. I started doing grocery tours and food tastings and cooking workshops to reach out to community members and promote health and nutrition. However, there was low participation from
The groups objectives were that at the end of a 3-4 minute session at our health promotion stand visitors would be able to
