On April 12, 2017, the Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies in UCI presented an inspirational lecture that was led by Sarah Haley. Haley, who is a passionate writer, wrote an inspirational book. Through her book, No Mercy Here: Punishment and Making of Jim Crow Modernity recounted the harsh, brutal, and inhuman experiences black women faced in the 19th century. Her focus was the south part of Georgia because it was a gated city to get her inspiration. During the lecture, I noticed that Haley’s indignant tone of voice led me to think and feeling empathy, especially for black women. If I want to choose a word to define their courageous behavior, the word choice will be kind of difficult. I recognized
Immediately to Virginia's north was Maryland. It began as a Catholic observation, the colony's economy would soon come to replicate that of Virginia, as tobacco became the most essential crop. To the south lay the Carolinas, produced after the English Civil War had been finished. In the Deep South was Georgia, the last of the original thirteen colonies. Problems from Spain and France led the king to aspire a buffer zone between the cash crops of the Carolinas and foreign opponents. Georgia, a colony of debtors, would achieve that need.

After they gutted and bled him out, they fashioned a truss from a felled tree branch, then tied the deer’s legs together and slid the pole through the deer’s legs. She took one end and Charles the other. This made it a lot easier, to carry their prize back to camp.

In the 1720’s the state of Georgia was founded by James Oglethorpe in his humanitarian pursuits. Ever since its creation the state of Georgia has seen its politics drastically changed and filled with controversy. Ranging from the disreputable Yazoo Land Deal scandal, civil war, plantation society. Civil Rights movement, Dominant Democratic South, and to modern day’ Republican Georgia. In 1730 a charter was given, so that a settlement could be established on the Savannah River. With his 120 follower which consisted of settlers, entrepreneurs, and adventures Oglethorpe established the 13th British colony. At the start Georgia did not use slavery, however due to its massive amount of farmland slave were brought in to work several years later.
Every family has their own individual problems that they deal with; no family is perfect. Children go through abuse, witness their parents abuse alcohol and drugs, and experience abandonment causing them not to feel loved. Unfortunately for the child, experiencing these things puts them more at risk for repeating the cycle, and going down the same path that their parents did. The focus of this literature review is to determine how the cycle of family dysfunction can be broken. As I searched for supporting articles the articles that stuck out to me were the ones that dealt with the causes of family dysfunction and the ways to help break the cycle of family dysfunction.
she is trying to make out that unless he does this he wont be a man.
I like your point that family support cannot always be provided because of different reasons, and individuals should build some resilience by themselves. I have talked with a kid whose father is in jail, and she told me sometimes she feels sad when she sees other children with their fathers. Also, immediate family members such as mothers and fathers can be the abusers, so they can't even bring children a peaceful life.I think people shouldn't over-reliant on other people when they deal with crisis and difficulties. I came to the United States by myself. When I meet difficulties and stress here, the most reliable person is myself. I gained a lot of independence, life skills, and courage during these years. I've had friends whose grandmother
