The internet and the invention of improved technology are growing rapidly. It allowed us to do complex jobs without having to spend as long as we had to by doing it manually. The internet is a vast source, it involves many people working together to create an opportunity for everyone to get easy and fast information without having to pick up a book. With a click of a mouse button we have tons of information right in front of our computer screen. So is having easy access and having improved technology doing us harm or being beneficial to us?

In “Get Smarter” (July/August 2009 Atlantic) he gives us an insightful view of evolution, for the human race to get smarter and how getting smarter saved us even back during the last ice age area. What will happen when global warming gets worse and we run shortage on fossil fuels, foods and other natural resources?, Cascio claims that human must evolve. Back then there was no such thing as the internet or technology, so how did humans evolve? They had to rely on natural evolution. With the inventions of new technology and pharmacology products, we can boost our intelligence more rapidly. According to James Cascio he says that he has discovered new drugs that lets people “Study harder, focus better, and stay awake longer with full clarity” (Page 3. P1) one of them known as Modafinil, this drug can keep a person awake and alert for very long, with this drug humans are able to get more information into their head without wasting precious time and getting distracted by every little thing. With the help of google, Cascio says that google is actually making us smarter. He sees the future as technology and the power of internet making the humans evolve into more civilized
