Going To Grad School

Many people believe that a college education is a worthy investment. The ability to become a college graduate will result in making more money. There are more jobs in today’s society that require college degrees. College graduates develop more and better employment opportunities within earning a degree. Self-discipline is a major element in becoming a successful graduate. Also, college graduates are healthier and live longer. Adults-young and old, male and female-who have a bachelor’s degree or higher have twice the annual median income than someone with only a high school degree ("Do college graduates," 2014).

Despite of whether going to college is worth it or not, recent college graduates have become more successful in their lives. Some people may think that attending college is a waste of time and money, while others feel that college gives them valuable skills in the real world. College will help the person gain the necessary work skills for his or her future job career. Moreover, the job that a person gets after college can outweigh the money and time the person spent in college. College graduates will be more favorable to have a better job than those who does not have a college degree. As our generation is rapidly changing, the work- force is getting tougher which means having a higher education is important in today’s world. Having a college degree is an obvious part of the candidate and is expected by the many employers. Nonetheless, going to college can also give students the opportunity network and develop personal connections among other students who are also interested in the career field.

Our society revolves around the intelligent and prestigious; not because they make more money or demand respect due to their title, but because the amount of knowledge and experience they portray to the community does not only benefit their own livelihood, but ours as well. To reach these levels of prominence, being a college graduate will increase your chances of doing so. Although college expenses might seem overwhelming, it is a smart investment that will lead to more opportunities, such as higher paying jobs, rewarding intellectual aspects, and above all provides a consistent and steady income.

People will often tell you that they want to be rich or famous when they grow older, how will that be possible without the proper education and schooling? Many people dream of being an entrepreneur or a lawyer and they believe that it is possible to be one of those things out of thin air. It’s not. Often times most businesses want to see a degree or a diploma to even consider you for a job. However, there are many advantages of attending college. The advantages of attending college is never ending but can include incessant opportunities.

After students expand their knowledge in college and receive a degree they have greater odds of finding a higher paying, more desirable job or career. The degree a student obtains while in college will help him or her have more success once they have graduated. Having a college degree offers a competitive edge against others.

Going back to college was a huge decision for me. I was nervous about what classes were to come and how hard they may be. I had to decide to take the high road and better my future for my family. Juggling work, school, and being a single mom of a two-year old has been tough, but I have enjoyed learning to reach my ultimate goal of graduation.

An interesting reason I feel this degree will benefit me; a healthy brain. As humans, our brains are capable of retaining more than we think. By continuing my education, I will be challenging my brain to learn and process new information as well as refresh

Going to college and obtaining a college degree would provide one with endless possibilities and opportunities in their life. While attending college students have the chance to meet many new people. This provides students to get out of their shells and explore new ideas. Having a college degree also widens ones options for a career and gives the opportunity to make a better salary. Many jobs today are requiring employees to have some type of college degree. Employers also pay an extra amount if one does obtain a college degree, and having a college degree often provides for greater promotion opportunity.

Transitioning from a home of which most people spent 18 years of their lives with their parents, to moving to a completely new environment can have many effects on a person. For one, having a parent to cook or feed you most of the time can be very convenient. Personally, I have a mother who loves to cook. The refrigerator would always be stocked with healthy foods. However, as I moved to college, I must rely on myself to maintain a healthy diet as I would at home. This Is challenging because most of us college students are too focused on classes and school work, and don’t know how to cook or simply don’t have the time for it. This leads to easy mac, ramen noodles, and microwavable ravioli. Nutrition is a big health factor when it comes to college

Getting ready for college is not the same as getting ready for high school. College is a center for higher levels of education. Therefore, with that comes a long line of supplies and more. Before, getting your supplies you have to know what school you want to apply for as well of their requirements. Once you are done applying, there is a need to know your living arrangements. The campus will have room for you to stay in. Staying on campus is not free, there is payments that you have to make every semester. College is not cheap once so ever, so everything do have a cost.

After high school, a choice that many students have to make is whether to go to college or not. There are many factors that go into one’s decision. There are pros and cons to going to college and also there are pros and cons for not going to college. But the decision that will give someone the better opportunity to have a more successful life is to go to college. The money that one will earn after getting a college degree will be more than the money a person will make without getting a college degree. As our society has continued to evolve, education has become the optimal route to professional success: pursuing a degree is the best way to receive training, to gain expertise in a given field, and even to guide you and help you make choices

It is the dream of everyone to join college with the hope of getting a better tomorrow and a foundation for them to make it in life. However, this may not be the case with some students as this dream may turn into a nightmare. This is because many students fail to go through or others even fail simply because they have not prepared enough; not just academically but also on the personal side.

A person is more likely to be more successful in life when attaining a higher degree. They can pursue a successful career that they are passionate about. Higher education is beneficial because no matter what you choose to do it will always be there to back you up in the future. Having a college degree can help you with financial stability as well. But, in today’s world, does having a college degree mean you can get any job at any given place or time? Not always will you find jobs that need certain degrees to be placed in jobs. Many places prefer no degree than having one. Some jobs require something even higher. There are a few limitations on having higher education. Also, by having higher education, it does not necessarily mean a person knows everything. You may have little to no education and still learn and know more things than someone with higher education can. For example, in Blue-Collar Brilliance, Mike Rose; Rose’s mother had dropped out of school to help support her family in a diner. She did not need school or a degree to develop psychological skills. She knew how things worked in a person by socially connecting to them. “Her tip depended on how well she responded to these needs, and so she became adept at reading social cues and managing feelings, both the customers’ and her own.” (Rose). That goes to show that higher education is not always needed in workplaces that use more connection to humans
