Picture having to work on a wall while it was raining or while it snowed, that is what the slaves and armies had to do while building the Great Wall of China. Was it really all worth the cost was it worth many men dying each day and being buried under the wall? It was not only bricks being used to make the wall but it was also the flesh and blood of these men that was being used. They were already slaves and did not deserve to die because they were doing something because they thought the Mongols would attack. Next time you think it would be amazing to be walking on the Great Wall of China also think of how many people died out there in the cold and the funny days when they should have been enjoying.

The benefits did not outweigh the costs because many people died in the making of the Great Wall of China and the walls meant many sacrifices for the Chinese people. It was not fair for the Chinese people to have to sacrifice something to protect the Qin and Han. There could have been a choice between building the wall and putting people to guard the frontier and if done correctly the 400,000 that died in the making would not have died. They would have also not taken that much time to be prepared and would not have had to be on the look out for the Xiongnu. Also in document c it says that the Han paid a tribute to the Xiongnu Mongols 5 separate years and it was silk that the Han paid to them. It was not worth the cost to build the wall because they worked things out and the Xiongnu would not attack them
