Green Glass Door
Though others choose to ignore it, I acknowledge the fact that our world is dying and it is our fault. This is caused mainly by greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide. Humans create new, seemingly better, technology and pollute the world with them. People feel as though they need technology, need fossil fuels, need to drive large, destructive trucks. In order to decrease greenhouse gas emissions, we need to change our food choices and habits by buying local food, growing our own food, and eating less meat.
Buying local produce can affect greenhouse gas emissions. Buying locally means that you only buy produce from your area, which shortens the distance the food has to travel. The farther the food travels, the more greenhouse gas is emitted from the trucks, boats, planes. Especially in Hawaii, any food from other places has to be shipped over an entire ocean to reach us. However, if you buy your food locally, the food only has to travel over the island or from island to island. Therefore, buying locally can help decrease greenhouse gas emissions.

Large factories require large tractors and plows to grow, care for, and harvest crops. One field needs a tractor, cultivator, a rotator, manure spreaders, sprayers, and more. Each piece of equipment emits smoke and carbon dioxide, which pollutes our air. Additionally, produce from large farms are sent to factories to be packaged and/or canned. Factories are terrible for the environment because they emit smoke and hazardous chemicals. Even more important, a majority of large farms use pesticides. Though pesticides kill harmful bugs, they can also harm people and cause defects. Pesticides can cause more harm than good. So growing your own food can help the environment
Everyone lives on this earth so we are the only ones to blame. We have produced a lot of Carbon Dioxide from Cars to factories to fossil fuels. We are producing more air pollution than we ever have before, also we are endangering our animals and ruining our ecosystems. We are taking away the animals habitats and killing innocent animals for no reason what so ever and this is what were causing. We need to put an end to what we are
Factory farming describes how large modern farms produce food in large quantities for a small cost. Factory farms, however, pollute the air by releasing harmful gases. They practice deforestation to claim more farmland. Factory farms pollute our waters to keep costs low. Factory farming is harming the environment
The United States is thought of as a nation of innovation but the food production in this country is outdated and unimaginative. Industrial farming is used in all aspects of food production with little variation, it is thought to be the most effective farming method but infact it is far from that. The current method of farming involves massive amount of fertilizers and pesticides. A large majority of farmers use an ineffective method farming called monocropping. Monocropping decreases biodiversity and increase the need for fertilizers, in addition to that monocropping increases water waste. The current farming method is causing huge environmental problems as well as health problems. There is no reason for the continued use of such an archaic
We have so many problems in our world today, but none of us want to address them because the solutions are not easy for some people. A problem our world faces today is obesity. Obesity could easily be cured by becoming a vegan. Another reason I have for the world to go vegan is the slaughter of animals. None of us would allow our dog or our dog’s puppies to be taken away and then slaughtered, so we shouldn’t kill any animals. We shouldn’t get to decide which animals get a happy life or which animals get their throats slit. The last major issue the world is facing today is global warming. Leonardo DiCaprio found out global warming is real by interviewing scientists who had found proof of global warming. One of their answers to global warming was becoming a vegan. The pollution set off from dairy and meat farms is so immense that producing them is hurting our world. To stop the obesity of the world, the slaughter of animals, and the global warming crisis, everyone should go vegan.
It also needs to be pointed out that meat production industry is highly unfriendly to the environment. It has been proved that the results of this mindless actions are extremely harmful to the whole planet: trees are lost in creating farms for animal food, land is taken away from wildlife, additional erosion is caused, topsoil is lost, groundwater is wasted, and pesticide is excessively used. In fact, one chicken farm uses as much water as a little city. Few may know that this industry, compared to others, causes the biggest pollution at all.
There are currently 7.4 billion people on this earth in comparison to the 3 billion people in the 80’s. The world’s population has grown at a startling rate and everyone is trying to live in the same way we always have since the developed world with cars, computers, and factories. Factories work the same way, cars run on the same stuff, our bulbs have hardly changed in their energy absorption, what we are putting out into the world has not changed. What has changed however, is the speed and amount of which we are putting out. The main problem of global warming is the rate at which we are pouring Co2 into the air, trying to keep the same lifestyles we have grown accustomed to. We cannot go on like this. In an article on human population, the Center for Biological Diversity wrote this, “It’s (The US) 300 million inhabitants produce greenhouse gases at a per-capita rate that is more than double that of Europe, five times the global average, and more than 10 times the average of developing nations. The U.S. greenhouse gas contribution is driven by a disastrous combination of high population, significant growth, and massive (and rising) consumption levels, and thus far, lack of political will to end our fossil-fuel
We as a population must come together to face the biggest problem in the world or face imminent destruction. Since the industrial age, the Earth’s temperature has risen 2 degrees celsius.(Sutter, 2) Humankind has shaped the Earth to what it is today by destroying land, building factories, real estate, burning fossils fuels, and even by just driving a motor vehicle around. This all led to the epidemic we call today as global warming. Taking a stance to make a change against global warming is very important but it also might be too late. Global warming is real and it is one of the biggest problems civilization faces.
By everyone is too much to this earth is that people do a lot of damage than they are aware of. There is so much pollution than there should ever be. With all these cars and public transportation for everyone. And trying to make ecofriendly cars and more is actually is same and making regular cars. The factories that make these car produce the same about of pollution as the others. In China, the pollution is so bad that people wear masks. The air alone is gray and musky. There is a little over one billion people in china. That’s one seventh of the whole population. Global warming is becoming a big factor and no one realizes that it’s because the more people, the more they want, so the more they make.
Today we face a major threat: global warming. People polluting the air constantly get so blinded by their own greed that they do not tend to realize what they have created. Our society runs on fossil fuels as a source of power, and as we continue to abuse the use of nonrenewable resources, we harm the Earth’s climate. Humans have made the biggest contribution to global warming, and the dangers will only get worse if nothing gets done. Our various toxic activities, such as working at power plants, drilling up natural gases and oil, and deforestation all emit greenhouse gases into the air, and because of these omissions large bodies of ice and oceans, the wildlife, and people 's health will continue to get harmed extremely unless governments worldwide gets together and place a ban on greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2045.
Many scientists and researchers have become worried about the health of our Earth. With increasing climate temperatures that can be noticed world-wide, scientists have been searching for a cause. It is widely believed that greenhouse gases are responsible. These gases: water vapor, carbon dioxide, and methane, to name few, become trapped in the atmosphere and work to absorb and emit radiation, resulting in a rise in temperature. The most suspected causes: agriculture and livestock. It has been said that agriculture is the biggest contributing factor of methane emissions within the United States. Many people believe that the reduction of/ riddance of meat from the population's diet will supply the change needed to save the Earth, however, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Humans should continue to produce animal products, but become more mindful of the changes that are continually made to the Earth and the impact it has on other species.
For hundreds of years, the human race has been polluting the earth with fossil fuels and excess waste. The longer we abuse our planet, the less time we will have on it. Climate change has been identified as a legitimate hindrance to the longevity of the human race. The world's temperature and water levels are rising. The findings about climate change have important implications for the broader domain of the world. If we don't change our ways, the world as we know it will cease to exist.
Humans need to change their way of living. We are destroying our Earth at such a fast rate and we do not get another chance once it is gone. Everyone believes that someone else is going to save them, when in reality the only person you can count on is yourself. Most people do not realize the urgency of this problem. To this day, some people do not believe that global warming is happening even though the glaciers are melting, average temperatures are rising, etc. Naomi Klein says in her book, This Changes Everything, “We deny because we fear that letting in the full reality of this crisis will change everything. And we are right” (Klein 3). As a world, we take complete advantage of our Earth. The first step in saving our world is to realize the problem then by using land ethic and aesthetic reasoning we can change the way humans think about our Earth before it is too late.
Today’s food industry thrives on factory farming because it is cheap, effective, and efficient and in today's modern world all of those things are essential. With everything positive there are negatives, though. The negatives with this outweigh the positives on a scale that cannot be measured. “When they’ve grown large enough to slaughter or their bodies have been worn out from producing milk or eggs, animals raised for food are crowded onto
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that as of 2017, the world has gone downhill. We have polluted our clean water. Our fresh air is no longer fresh due to abusing the amount of fossil fuels we had and the ability and opportunity to use them during our everyday life. Additionally, we have decreased certain animal populations alarmingly and they are important resources. This letter was sent to you so that your future choices will benefit the world and future generations.
Attempts made to decrease greenhouse gas emissions caused by animal agriculture would be costly and significantly impact budget constrains across the nation and would not stop the climate change from occurring anyway as cyclical change is inevitable in the Earth’s environment. Many worry about the monetary impact that aiding the environment would create. Stopping to
