the catchy name of the ABC medical drama was derived from the textbook used by all medical students: Anatomy of the Human Body by Henry Gray and the name of the main character, Meredith Grey. Rhimes put the two together and got the name of one of the most popular tv shows today. Grey’s Anatomy was the recipient of the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Television Series and was also nominated for multiple Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series.
The show features several main surgical students starting out as interns who eventually work their way up in hospital rank at Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington . Meredith Grey’s mother, Dr. Ellis Grey, was one of the best general surgeons of her time until she came down with alzheimer’s
Grey’s anatomy is a television show about a group of surgeons and interns who work at Seattle Grace Hospital. The series emphasizes on a group of doctors who fight to save their patient 's lives while contending to become the head surgeon. Aside from the competition, they go through a lot of heartbreak; either relationships problems or family crises throughout each of their lives. The series began with Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) starting her career as a medical intern with other interns, who became her friends and roommates later on. Being on air every Wednesday for eleven years, the show has drawn a beautiful fantasy world, among hospital life; many people, including me being inspired enough to want to join the field. Even though
Science plays a major role in the story line of NBC’s police-procedural drama, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; more specifically, forensic science. From beginning to end, the characters depend on the use and their understanding of forensic science to uncover the mysteries of each examined case. The advancements in technology along with the psychological approach used by detectives to solve each case make the serious and critical role that science plays more than evident to the audience.
The Walking Dead is a televised American drama series about a group of people trying to survive a zombie apocalypse developed by Frank Darabont. The series stars Andrew Lincoln as sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes, who awakens from a coma after the world yields to a zombie plague (Griffiths, 2011). When it comes to television and movie films there are many of the same elements that may only be different by the slightest of things, but one thing that will always stay constant is when the show and/or film is created, the time period of the world is intertwined through the characters gender roles. When comparing a 1950’s show to today’s favorites, gender roles would be very different challenging and reinforcing stereotypes due to how women and men were portrayed in the world in the past and the present. Women especially, have been challenged in the working field for time and time again and in the show Grey’s Anatomy (season 12 episode 7), it is clear how the creators not only reinforced typical male and female stereotypes but challenged them in the same few moments of a scene as well. Grey’s Anatomy reinforces how women are thought to be, challenge the position a women holds, reinforces a dominant male stereotype, and challenges male stereotypes of emotion.
In today’s society there is a wide variety of TV dramas shown for entertainment purposes such as CSI, Grey’s Anatomy, Code Black, as well as NCIS. Unfortunately these shows have the capability to alter someone’s perspective and respect that they have for the people that have to cope with these situations in their everyday life. The show, CSI, directly correlates to the article by incorrectly portraying criminal profiling, which is the message that Gladwell wishes to knock. A similar situation occurs with Grey’s Anatomy as well as Code Black, which are both hospital dramas that incorrectly show life in the ER and busy hospitals, romanticizing the life that they live no matter how wrong the portrayal may be.
There are two medical television series that stand above most others. These two shows put an emphasis on their personal, rather than professional lives. Bill Lawrence’s television series Scrubs and Shonda Rhime’s television series Greys Anatomy share the theme of competition, Greys Anatomy is better because of Shonda Rhime’s use of character, point of view, and conflict.

For this paper, I have chosen to analyze the sitcom That 70s Show. This show follows the lives of a group of teenage friends: Jackie, Donna, Hyde, Kelso, Eric, and Fez. The show addresses many social issues of the 1970s, including: Sexism, sexual attitudes, drug use, and the recession. It also highlights many of the inventions and developments of the entertainment industry, such as the remote control and Star Wars.
I decided to share about one of my favorite TV shows, The Office. I enjoy this show because there are so many different characters with unique personalities. Each character interacts with one another in their own personal ways. In this show, there is no character that is the same. Certain ones give a representation of how to communicate appropriately and others show an inappropriate way to communicate. The three characters that I have chosen to look closely at are, Michael, Dwight, and Jim. Michael is the boss of the paper company department, Dwight and Jim are sales representatives. Michael and Dwight are not very good at appropriately communicating with one another or with others in the office. Jim is one of the “normal” ones on the show.

Kat Graham is ready to move on from The Vampire Diaries. After eight seasons on the CW show as witch Bonnie Bennett, the actress revealed that she will make her big exit in 2017.
This medical drama television show first premiered on ABC in March 27, 2005. Since, it has produced 12 seasons and going on its thirteenth, which will air late 2016 to 2017. With 11 years under its belt, Grey’s Anatomy has become a house hold name with a solid and loyal fan base that’s continuously growing. Whether it’s a re-run in waiting room or binge-watching on Netflix, anyone who has access to a television or the internet has watched at least one of the 296 episodes that’s been aired. The show is about surgical interns trying to have a middle ground between the challenges of their cutthroat career and the complications in their personal lives. As each season progresses, there’s growth
In the novel, Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard, there were many parts in the text that I had difficulty understanding, while there were other parts of the text that were easy to understand and connect to. I can clearly understand and see how the author described the settings to help the reader better understand the story and scenes. At the funeral, the author explains the setting around the characters and introduces new ones. The author states, “The church was dark and the silence was eerie. The room was filled with sorrow.
No great success was ever achieved without failure; the Emmy and Golden Globe award winning television series, Breaking Bad, is a perfect example. In an interview with creator Vince Gilligan, he states how his greatest fear during pre production was failure. During the show’s production, there was input from DEA agents to community members. The post production process is what really ties the final product of this television series and brings the creative process to life. Moreover, like most ideas, the creative process shifts when collaborating with different individuals.
Is there such thing as the perfect series being completely ruined by the finally? Or maybe a bad season being saved by the perfect finally? That’s the question that comes to hand when people talk about the season nine final of “How I Met Your Mother” that premiered on March 31st, 2014. On that day the nation split, of those who fell in love with the season but hated the final, and those who hated the final season but loved the finally. Well here is the cold hard truth for you, “How I Met Your Mother” was the greatest television show that ever aired then in early late September in 2013 something dramatic happened. (okay maybe the only thing dramatic is me.) In late September the greatest television show of all time was tainted with the first episode of season nine, or what I refer to as the ruin of “How I Met Your Mother”. Or so I thought until the season finally came, and blew my mind away along with half the country. The season final wrapped up this nine season bundle of greatness by saving the show from criticism that would be impossible to recover from. The season finally is one of the most well thought of conclusions I have ever seen and along with the great acting from the main characters Ted Mosley (Josh Randnor), Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan) and the characters who make the show as great as it is Marshal Erikson (Jason segal) and the ladies man himself, Barney Stinson who is portrayed
