Working in a distance group has been a new experience for me, but it was enjoyable and the mood in the group always was positive. The collaboration that I gave into the group was to complete my part in each assignment and also I tried to be active in the group like that I could be helpful to my teammates if they were troubling, but the group almost always work smoothly and few complication were given through the whole project. The Anonymous group was well organized during the whole project, each member of the group always took a part in the assignments and at the end of each week, the leader put all the information together in order to submit the assignments. The group always did every assignment on time.
I consider that Anonymous group work more like a group than a team because we all share a common goal, where each member of the group felt responsible for doing something. We all care about getting a good grade, so we all tried to do the best effort in each assignment. Connor as leader of the group had a great communication with everyone and he simplifies each assignment since the beginning of each week, making everyone responsible for taking one part of each assignment. I felt that I did a great contribution and I tried to communicate with the group with the purpose of giving some ideas. We didn’t have any discomfort with anyone of the group, everything was complete so quickly, that I felt that everyone had the same amount of participation and responsibility. I think no
One of the things that worked well in our group was the willingness of those in the group to listen to each other and entertain various viewpoints. I think that mutual respect is the key when working with groups. Each of us played different roles in the group: some of us were listeners, some of us were leaders, and some who were initially listeners became leaders as the group went on. Within our group we had different personality types and communication styles.
For this class project, I think my group worked well together on the assignments. We all saw we had responsibilities and were expected to do our own parts for each assignment we worked on. For each assignment, we would split it equally among us and used a tool called Google Docs so we were each on our own computers but working together on one file. Google Docs really made the process easier with reviewing all the information and having it all in one file. If any questions came up we had a group text to communicate when we weren’t on campus grounds for class.
The Sierra Academy serves student with learning disabilities. They have variety of programs which include speech therapy, occupational therapy, small class sizes, counselling services, small group instruction/specialized programming. I was privileged to observe and interview Maria Gonzalez’s class for six hours. I had a good experience with the class and felt that I should share my story. Eighty percent of the class needs where mild to moderate. Although, I saw a couple of those who could function pretty well on their own with little or no supervision.
Before I provide some insight to the individual I interviewed, I want to mention that I work as a Business Analyst for an automotive software company called Tail Light. We provide various desktop and mobile applications and an On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) device to automobiles. Our users range from personally at dealerships to the consumer who is purchasing the vehicle. Our DevOps team consist of four individuals who provide expertise in various aspects of our technology and we attempt to bridge the gap between legacy and new products. Our IT personnel is a unique bunch of gentlemen. They laugh at our expense as we, being the user, make the network the most vulnerable. Their area is filled with comic cut-outs of Dilbert and funny innuendoes

As part of the two person executive secretariat team at Embassy Baghdad, I helped support our primary Mission Iraq goals: protecting America’s security by countering violence and instability, and renewing America’s competitive economic advantage through bilateral relationships and economic reform. Our team not only directly supported the Ambassador’s and the Deputy Chief of Mission's (DCM) engagement with the highest-level Iraqi interlocutors, but also supported working level meetings and reporting from all sections at Post, including USAID and the Departments of Defense, Treasury, and Justice. In the six months since my arrival, our team has processed more than 1,000 papers. Our work, almost always completed on the day of receipt, includes editing for grammar and content, checking and securing clearances, and drafting supplementary
Working in a group was a great way to get to know my classmates. Despite our differences, we worked together and completed the assignment. I like working in a group, but sometimes I would rather do the assignment on my own. Group work has its good and bad effects.

Working in this group was a positive situation. I got along with all of them, and I talked to two more people that I probably would not have
My reflection paper will address all the weakness I identified in the beginning of the class and how the exercises, specifically participating in and leading a live group has turned some of those weakness into strengths. In doing so I have correlated all the skills that was learned in the lectures and readings with real life experiences.
As a group, our goal is to work cohesively to complete our tasks. We also hope to do well on said tasks, while completing them in a timely manner. In addition, we hope to avoid “groupthink” in times of deliberation and planning. Going along with our goal to avoid groupthink, each of us hope to learn and expand our horizons on new perspectives shared by our group members. We can accomplish this through encouraging each other to show up to class as well as constantly acknowledging and validating everyone’ opinions. This will contribute to the team climate because we expect everyone to be open and respect other’s ideas, remain on task, and participate. Next, it is crucial that we establish and practice a laid-back, open, and fun environment for ourselves in which we still get the work needed to be done completed. Lastly communication is essential. Our group’s use of the GroupMe app, allows for constant communication between the members. Through the groupchat we created, each of us are able to notify group members if we cannot make it to class or a meeting, or if we are running late to either. We are also able to help each other with the individual tasks set for us to complete the assignment as
The perfect example of this situation is when we had to change labs for our advanced lab testing portion related to the Partner for Health program. Originally we used HDL labatory however due to some recent bad press we no longer felt this lab was a reliable option. We had to re-assure both the patients and the client that they would recieve the same quality of testing that they were use to with previous lab draws. As part of choosing a labatory, I reseached labs that offered similar advanced lab testing. I then sent the top three labs a proposal along with a list of questions. The questions were based on level of service, customer satisfation, flexibilty, and a request for data supporting population health research. Based on these responses
My feelings about the group process was a little mix at first but, at the end I felt like we actually brought it together. Beginning of the group member were all over the place and had no direction, when we were able to take a breather in just think ideas started to flow. I felt like that took the communicator to make it happen. By reinsuring the other group members that everything will go smoothly if we just don’t overthink everything.
The counseling process is a very important structure that is planned for the dialogue between the counselor and the client. It is considered as a cooperative process that the counselor help assists the client to identify any problems, difficulties, or concerns they may have experienced in their life. The process can be broken down into five stages: pre-group issues, initial stage-exploration, transition stage, working stage, and the final stage consolidation and termination. My session was the initial session and we worked on the exploration of goals to be put in place to have a successful group. My group facilitation started with an icebreaker activity utilized for group members to introduce themselves to the group. I used a candy themed
During the last group session, the group discussed the topic of the upcoming termination of the group therapy dynamic. There were two insights that were experienced and maybe a couple more during this last meeting. The first insight was when the group members were asked how they are feeling that the end of the sessions is on the horizon. The immediate reaction for myself was that I felt good and bad. The good was that this meant that the semester was coming to and end and my body and mind needs a much-deserved break. The workload was not the issue; however, this semester has been a trying one personally with family concerns being added. Furthermore, learning how to lead a group and the experience of being led in a group has benefited my learning tremendously. In that now I understand further wanting it means to be on the other side of counseling. Earlier in the program the experienced gain by being put in the chair has made a similar impact on being put in the group dynamic has added that fragile and scared feeling that is not maximized by the counselor and the client encounter. The group practice is a completely different animal in that not only does the person have to trust the group leader they have to learn to trust the group. The negative part about leaving the group sessions behind is that I really learned about my fellow students and have been entrusted with personal issues that not too many other people in their lives might be informed on.
