For the purposes
introduction
So you’re in the school yard and you and your peers are having a bubble blowing contest you, of course want to win with all that street cred on the line. This is a likely scenario for many students across the world because gum is relatively cheap and incredibly plentiful. Marketed Bubble gum originated in 1928
Hypothesis
My hypothesis based on past experience with the gum is that Wrigley gum will produce the biggest bubble.
Materials list: the various brands of gum (orbit, Wrigley, hubba bubba, bubble yum, and double bubble)
3 mechanical pencils phone (for timer) ruler table
9 sheets of paper
3 people
Methods
How would one go about blowing an impressive bubble with the least amount of work? Thus is the problem a team of high school students planned to tackle, to do this we developed an experiment to determine which of five types or brands of gum was the easiest to blow an impressive bubble. To do this we selected a talented chewer and bubble gum blower from within our group, and he chewed each piece of gum for three minutes and blew each gum three time before spitting them out. We recorded each bubble gum diameter and averaged them. The results are clearly outlined in the chart below.

Since there are 5 brands of gum each gum brand received a number between 1-5. The lower the number the better the brand of gum. The following graphs illustrate each trait
First, each table received 2 gummy bears. Each gummy bear was measured for their height, width, and thickness in mm. Secondly, 150 ml of water was poured into a cup with your group number on it. Then after we recorded our measurements of the gummy bears, one gummy bear (A) was placed in the 150ml cup of water, while the other gummy bear (B) was placed in the Ziploc bag. The gummy bears were measured again after 24 hours. When we checked the gummy bears after 24 hours, gummy bear B in the bag stayed the same, while the height and width of the gummy bear A in the water grew and the thickness shrunk. Originally, the gummy bear A in the water weighed 2.57 grams, measured 12mm thick, 10mm wide and 17 mm tall. After the experiment, gummy bear A
Hypothesis: I think Pop Secret is going to pop the best, and leave the least amount of un-popped
Timer Procedure: Set out three clear plastic cups Fill the first cup up with 12 oz of room temperature water Fill the second cup up with 12 oz of (refrigerated) cold water Fill the third cup up with 12 oz of (microwaved) hot water Microwave this water for one minute Place one red gummy bear into each of the cups Let the gummy bear sit in the cups of water for 5 minutes After five minutes, use the ruler to measure the distance (in cm) the gummy bear is from the top of the water Repeat steps 2-7 three more times for each trial Record data Results: Distance (in cm) the Gummy Bear is From the Top of the Water Trial Room Temperature Water Cold Refrigerated Water Hot Microwaved Water
Purpose: The purpose of this gummy bear lab is too figure out what different types of osmosis and diffusion can be seen during the lab. Also too see what solutions will cause the gummy bear to be isotonic, hypotonic, or hypertonic. This will benefit people that may eat a lot of gummy bears along with drinking sodas and juices, or water this may cause you to become more dehydrated. This will help people who like to eat gummy bears but don’t know what's best to drink with them.
Though many people will think there is a lot of bad in soda, technically it’s just carbonated water, which is basically “gas that’s called carbon dioxide that has been dissolved under high pressure” (sciencebuddies.org). When one opens a can of soda pop the carbon dioxide in it is released out causing the bubbles in the drink, and the best part for this project is that one can choose their own way to do it, yes they may have to follow what the recipe calls for but they can choose their favorite flavors and their own color for it like if they wanted to they could make a bacon flavored pop but it might not taste the best but the point would be that it would be their own idea.
kong, R.P. Singh, 2016. Now let’s talk about why the three other gummy bears that were put into baking soda water, fanta soda, and water expanded and got softer. I believe that this has to do with the glucose, starch, and gelatin, I think this because these three ingredients are all able to absorb water and within those 24 hours there was a different amount in water in those containers than in the salt water container because the salt water didn’t absorb any water so it’s water level was higher than that of the other three. I got this information from a pdf by Emily Grimm. My hypothesis was proved right and wrong because I predicted that the gummybear would either dissolve or enlarge, I was right because the gummy bears mostly enlarged and as they were set out on our napkins they started to come apart, you could say that I was only half right because one of the gummy bears decreased rather than enlarged and that one stayed whole but I would count this as win because it was mostly right. The experiment doesn’t stop there, of no, there is still more to investigate such as, what if you tried a different gummy or maybe not even a gummy at all, what about a small part of apple or a grape cut in
The reason why chewing gum helps people focus is because it gives your subconscious something to do while you’re working. If you’re focused in class, you know more for on the test and so you get higher grades. In St. Lawrence University, researchers had three groups of students, one had gum before a test, one
What are the ingredients for gum? Over 17,600,000 people look up what’s in gum. Over the past years people look up what’s in gum, most people don't care about it, but others do. Many people asked for so many years, but there are things in it that could lead to cancer and many other diseases. People think ingredients inside gum is made with whale fat, but the truth is it isn't. There are many dangerous chemicals and toxins in chewing gum. People say gum is made out of tree sap, from the sapodilla tree. The texture of the sap is a rubbery material from the tree called polyisobutylene. It is also called chicle.

Chewing gum can help increase alertness and attention. In one study, chewing gum was an A+ advantage. People performed better on verbal and math problems and were about 10 percent more alert when they chopped away. Other research suggests chewing gum can boost brainpower in people of all ages. Middle-school gum chewers received higher grades in math compared to the non-chewers. Gum chewing affects standardized math scores in adolescents. A stick of 5 chewing gum may even be helpful during a long day at the office, since chewing mint or caffeinated gum can decrease sleepiness. A boost of happiness may be found inside the wrapper, too. A stick of gum has proved to increase heart rate and cortisol levels, which sometimes results a better mood. Another study found two week of gum chewing decreased participants anxiety and some symptoms of depression. There may not be a definitive reason for chewing gum magical mental enhancements. Lucky for teeth, the answer isn’t the sugar since scientists have experimented with sugar-filled and sugar-free gum. Some experts
This chewing gum will reduce your trip towards dentist as you can identify the exact condition of your gums with the help of this bubble.
In a country like Singapore with high-end modes of transportation, including mass rapid transit trains where chewing gums would get stuck between train doors causing the trains to stop as doors could not fully close, there has been two incidents of disruption caused by chewing gums which were the immediate factors that led to the banning of the product as stated by the Environment Ministry of Singapore, an organization formed in September 1972 which would later on be renamed Ministry of Environment and Water Resources. (1) (2) Even before chewing gum came into the picture of Singapore’s problems, the issue was already raised as early as 1983 by S. Dhanabalan, by then Foreign Affairs and Culture Minister, which unfortunately for him, his first
The act of chewing gum causes stimulation of the trigeminal nerve that innervates the jaw muscles which allows people to be more alert and have more concentration. The scientists who performed this study were careful to control for the complex effects that different gums introduce to the oral experience and offered people different types of gum.
Lily Rose today you showed an interest in the giant bubble wand—the sun made the bubbles a wonderful rainbow colour and the wind swept the bubbles up and away. Lily Rose you watched and waited patiently for your turn and then you gave the bubble wand a try and soon you were creating wonderfully humongous bubbles. Lily Rose you were so excited and proud of your bubbles, Well done as this activity takes skill and patience to successfully use the big bubble wand.
Sealed Air faces both direct and indirect competition in the flexible wrap market. Astro Packaging is the only other producer of coated bubbles in the US; it also serves the low-end of the market with uncoated bubbles. GAFCEL recently began manufacturing uncoated bubbles in the eastern US, and has gained access to several AirCap distributors.
