Reference groups are actual or imaginary individual or group that significantly influences an individual’s evaluations, aspirations, or behavior. Reference group influences us in three ways: informational, utilitarian, and value-expressive. The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) is an American non-profit organization, which backs for gun rights. NRA has been acknowledging its members about gun-related bills. NRA has also been directly promoted against legislation.
Gun control is a controversial issue for a long time around the world, particularly in U.S. because of a lots of mass shooting in school and public places. The second Amendment of the U.S. constitution is one of the shortest in all of the bill of right, it was written by the time period of American’s birth and it is the spirit of self-defense that help the new citizens of U.S. win their own freedom from the British. But now as the gun shooting problem happening every day in America, this gun control problem has gradually become to a hot issue. Compare to other countries like Britain, Canada, Japan, China, the difference between U.S. and those countries is in these countries to get a firearm is a very difficult thing
“The right to bear arms”, an amendment so prioritized by our founding fathers that it earned the very second spot on the list of birth rights as Americans. However, with constant tragedies striking the United States, such as massacres in public high schools and universities, mall shootings, and attempted assassinations on state representatives, it’s no wonder law makers are constantly debating the topic of gun control.
Over the last few years, the rivers edge is getting more & more crowded, as fishing pressure increases so does the amount of lures the fish will see in a day. Trying new methods of fishing can sometimes prove to be rewarding.
People who appreciate activities like shooting competitions and hunting, use firearms responsibly. This use contrasts with other uses, which often result in consequences that can be both intended and unintended. With past and present mass shootings, and acts of bloodshed perpetrated with the usage of weapons; has triggered a focus on gun control that once again has been brought into the spotlight. The purpose of the ongoing gun argument addresses the crimes that are committed with guns. This issue of gun control separated people into two groups: those who believe that carrying guns might prevent some crimes and fatalities, and those who don’t. There are individuals who believe absolutely the reverse: that more crime and deaths

America is known as the land of opportunity, freedom, fast food, and raging numbers of gun violence. According to Mass Shooting Tracker there has been about 367 shootings so far since the year started (Mass Shooting Tracker). This is outrageous considering that in other countries, gun shooting numbers don 't even reach a two-digit number. Far too many people have been victims of these unregulated weapons, claiming lives and ripping families apart. There is no safe place from these assault weapons, no movie theater, night club, church, or school. American’s must deal with the fact that any unsuited person is legally allowed to purchase a weapon with the weak regulations we currently have. Assault weapons have been damaging for this country and it 's time to change the laws. Gun regulations and laws need to be stricter to make it harder for individuals to purchase guns to prevent any future tragedies from happening.
We know that states with the most gun laws tend to have the fewest gun deaths. So the notion that gun laws don’t work, or just will make it harder for law-abiding citizens and criminals [to] still get their guns is not borne out by the evidence.
Guns and Crime, 2012 Formed in 2006, Mayors Against Illegal Guns is a coalition of over 550 mayors who support reforms to fight illegal gun trafficking and gun violence in the United States, while still respecting the Second Amendment. The background check system designed by Congress in 1993 to prohibit dangerous people from purchasing guns is not working effectively. But with the enforcement of critical new regulations, the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) could be an effective tool in preventing gun violence. One such regulation would require the names of all people known to be dangerous or criminal be registered in the NICS database, and those
With recent rise in mass killings with firearms, the call to ban them has grown considerably. One major portion of the debate is the role that gun manufactures play in the horrible events. It is the stance of the NRA, National Rifle Association, that the manufactures of these guns have no control over the use of the things that they create, that it is on the owners of these weapons to use proper discretion. The author of the article, Michael McNulty, argues in this article that the NRA has lost its true purpose and is no longer looking out for the rights of its members, but the interests of the gun manufactures bottom line.
The National Rifle Association, also known as the NRA, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1871 with the original goal to “promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis.” Additionally, there was a heavy focus of proper shooting sports among America’s youth. It featured multiple shooting programs and developed ranges for members to use and train. Through the use of their magazine “The American Rifleman” members of the NRA were informed regarding firearm bills. With the passage of the National Firearms Act of 1934, the NRA formed the Legislative Affairs Division (LAD). The early days of the LAD were not to lobby directly. The purpose of the LAD was to encourage members to proceed with their own action to combat the infringement of Second Amendment Rights by mailing legislative facts and analysis to members.
The article titled, Could smaller, local measures offer a way forward on gun control? by Peter Grier explained many ideas on how to prevent gun-related violence in the United States by taking measures on a “state-level”. The article first explained how a man named Daniel Webster believes, like reducing teenage driving fatalities, it's the matter of advocating stronger laws. In this case putting stronger gun laws in place to help reduce the amount of gun violence. The text also explained that some states have already put limits in order to prevent firearms from landing in the hands of domestic abusers after the dreadful event of Sandy Hook Elementary which took place on December 14th, 2012. In addition, the text described “31 percent of fatalities occurred in connection with domestic partner violence” (Grier New York Times 8).
Their opinion contradicts the opinion of some in saying that the right to have a weapon makes a society free.
In the year of 2015 there were only four events that could be considered mass shootings. In 2014 there were a total of 51,811 gun incidents in the U.S. alone. Big number, right? That’s probably close to the amount of time some people text or say like and totally in a day. But this number represents anything from gang violence to someone accidentally shooting their foot with a twenty-two. With those numbers we should make it illegal to even think about guns right? Well, if you think that way, then you’d agree that we should ban any form of smoking, alcohol, caffeine and stress causers. The only reason that you should think the latter if you agree with strict gun control is that heart disease killed 614,348 Americans in 2014. Popular news stations
The third question was asked to see how many participants seen someone pointing a gun at someone else. This question added fuel to the fire, it engaged the participants even more in the discussion. Two participants stated that they saw someone pointing a real gun at someone else while they were walking down their block. This was extremely scary to them because they had never experienced something like this before, besides hearing gun shots but never being a witness of it. Next, two participants never seen someone pointing a real gun at someone else. One participant added,
