Over the past week there has been several incidents of alleged Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB). We have been diligently reporting the incidents and addressing each incident. However, I have noticed that some incidents does not rise to the level of Bullying and may not necessarily require and investigation. This Friday we will be having the HIB coordinator for Paterson Public Schools to come in to provide a training on HIB. Please come with your questions. For your convenience I have attached College Achieve's Policy on HIB for your review.
After looking at my schools health and safety policy the school makes reference’s to current legislation and complies with Leicester city council legislation. To show that we understand the health and safety policy and that we will comply with it we have to sign a document. So if we use a chair instead of a ladder to put up a display and fall off the chair and hurt yourself you can’t sue the school or HCC.
Organisations within Australia have a legal obligation to prevent bullying and harassment. The Fair Work Commission, Australia’s national workplace relations tribunal, states that “bullying at work” occurs when “a person or a group of people repeatedly behaves unreasonably towards a worker or a group of workers at work and the behaviour creates a risk to health and safety.”(Fair Work Commission 2014).The legislation in Australia, implemented from the 1st of January 2014, dictates that a worker in a constitutionally covered business who reasonably believes that he or she has been bullied at work can apply to the Fair Work Commission for an order to stop the bullying .If the Fair Work Commission finds that the worker has been bullied and there is a risk that it will continue, it can order the bullying to stop. Bullying behaviour may also be discrimination based on age, disability, sex, pregnancy, race, disability, sexual orientation, religious belief or activity or other attribute protected by the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Fair Work Commission 2014).
Indicators of bullying, harassment and discrimination may include unexplained injuries, avoidance of school and the playground, sleeping difficulties, shift in eating habits and a decline in grades. In addition, someone who is bullied, harassed or discriminated against may feel helpless and depressed, engaging in self-destructive behaviors such as cutting (self-harm) and suicide.
I personally agree to never intentionally bully, hurt, or make fun of anyone. I promise to help stop bullying whenever i see it happening. To always tell an adult, teacher, or authority figure to help end the bullying. To always try to stop rumors and gossip, and to never talk about anyone behind their back. I will always try to stop the bullying even if my friends are the bullies, and to always tell them to stop. If I ever unintentionally bully someone I promise to always apologize.

Bullying and incivility (B&I) has become near and dear to my heart because I was bullied a few years ago by my supervisor. In the midst of the occurrence, it was very upsetting and after the occurrence I made up excuses for her behavior. But the next day on my way to work, my heart started racing, my stomach was upset and I was just really uncomfortable and anxious. At that point, I knew that I had to do something about it. I consider myself a strong person and can put up with a lot. So I imagined this happening to someone who did not have my same spirit and asked how would they feel, how often does bullying occur in our current setting and what has been done to combat bullying and incivility. Unfortunately, leadership has

Well, we all know that bullies can be pretty bad. But, however, bystanders can be way worse. According to An Overview of Bullying, a bully is a person who dominates, blame, and use others. They do this for the fat that they are jealous or have low self-esteem. A bystander is a person who stands around to watch, but, better yet, they don't tell anyone about it.
Nurses eat their own is an established adage which is an oxymoron attached to the profession of nursing. The representation of a nurse is one of compassion and caring for the patients, but this is not extended to one another within the workplace. The significance of this study by the nurse authors A. Barrett, C. Piatek, S. Lorberto, and C. Padula was to bring civility, nurse satisfaction and cohesiveness to the workplace by developing team building interventions, and expurgating lateral violence between the staff. However, numerous studies been performed to improve the nurse to nurse relationship and consequently improving evidence base outcomes.
Please accept this letter as resignation of my position of Concrete Finisher, effective immediately. I am forced to resign because I can no longer tolerate the workplace harassment and verbal abuse executed by my Supervisor - Victor Silva.
Some people would tell you yes. Bullying can involve direct physical and verbal abuse, it can involve more subtle forms of indirect aggression, such as spreading rumors. I was bullied all through elementary School, Jr. High, and even High School. It made me the man that I am now. Sticks, stones, and words really did hurt me back then. I can remember in elementary school I was always bullied by a group of kids when I got off school. Every day they would wait for me and chase me all the way home from school. I was too fast for them and they never caught me. In school it was a different story. They made my life miserable because I wasn’t able escape from them in school. Bullying can
The government have instructed schools to take certain actions when it comes to anyone being harassed at school. When a school receives a complaint they must take certain steps to investigate and resolve the situation. Immediate and appropriate action to investigate or otherwise determine what happened and why the situation occurred. The inquiry must be prompt, thorough, and impartial in order to execute a good result ending. Interviewing the targeted students will get only the half of the story. Once you find out who the offending students are you then start looking for witnesses to the incident. School officials could then maintain written documentation of investigation. Communicating with targeted students regarding steps to be taken to end the harassment. Checking in with the students that targeted other students during this time help ensure that harassment has ceased. When an investigation reveals that harassment has occurred. A school should take steps reasonably calculated to end the harassment, eliminate any hostile environment, and prevent harassment from recurring.
Every day, someone somewhere is a victim of harassment and humiliation. Bullying has become such a growing epidemic in today’s society that it has become a pervasive health concern. There are more and more students being victimized and strained by other peers each day. Almost one in every four students reports being bullied throughout their school year. (National center for Education, 2015) Although bullying doesn’t just occur at school, bullying can also arise at home or work. Bullied characterizes a chronic abuse of power when the intimidator uses physical, verbal, social or emotional hostility to deliberately and continually hurt another person. Only sixty-four percent of children who were bullied did not report it; only thirty-six reported the bullying. (Petrosina, Guckenburg, DeVoe, and Hanson, 2010) Most students refuse to seek for support for the sake of their safety and for the fear of the aggressor as reporting could only escalate the circumstances. Constantly being victimized can eventually lead to serious health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and obesity. Students who experience bullying are at increased risk for poor school adjustment; sleep difficulties, anxiety, and depression. (Center for Disease Control, 2015) Not only is the victim at risk, but the aggressor as well because normally the aggressor lacks in one of those areas and to feel better about them they have to show no weakness, but also dominance to attack the weak minded. Bullying wasn’t
Sexual harassment affects people every day worldwide, and it is being swept under the rug. Sexual harassment and bullying are very similar, and both need to be taking seriously. Sexual harassment is not being dealt the way it should be. Sometimes it is frowned upon to even speak about it, and often victims are paid money to keep quiet. This lets the aggressors go free and continue their life of crime. Many unspoken victims are to afraid to say anything because of the criticism they might receive.
