My school cafeteria plans on changing to a new, healthier school lunch menu, which would eliminate some of the students’ favorite cafeteria foods. Numerous students complain about the school lunch food as is, but some students like certain food served. The school menu should be changed regardless of some students favorite foods. I believe the school cafeteria should change to a new, healthier school lunch menu. A new, healthier school menu is important because students would be physically healthier, students would be happier, and students would benefit from it in the future.
The food served to the students is unhealthy. For example, chicken nuggets, pizza, and cheeseburgers are just a few of the unhealthy items that students are offered daily. The food in the cafeteria is filled with grease and is low quality brands. If the school changes to a healthy menu the quality of the foods would be better and would definitely not be filled with grease. Students need to have

Why would you choose something the students will most likely disagree on when you can keep what you have now. Why would you change the menu to healthier food when they are reason why you should not. It is a bad choice to change the school lunch because the students might not eat the food the type of food you are switching it to.
High School Students wait all day for lunch, not just to socialize but to actually eat. I know changing to a healthier lunch menu os a good idea because not only would make high school students happier but it would also make their parents happy, make students healthier, and get them through the rest of the school day energized. Unhealthy lunches can make students lazy throughout the rest of the school day, gain weight, and make kids sick. if students are coming to lunch and not putting the right type of foods in their body that's not good because that can translate to body composure in class and also make students lazy and not want to do anything because of all the grease, fat, etc that their lunch meal is giving off. say a student has PE
Also, will change the menus' from nonessential foods with more required or needed foods. More fruits and vegetables will be introduced to students. Overall better food choices in schools will change students to want to eat better foods. Schools will be able to cut out unnecessary junk food. For example: schools could take out pizza and replace it with a more healthier version. Students would be able choose grapes and apples rather than bags of chips or candy bars. In fact, many school districts don’t follow codes for school lunches made by the government, making them high in fat, carbohydrates and sugar content. As a result, American children who eat unhealthy meals at school will make the same unhealthy choices later in life as adults. In 2012, the U.S. Government updated the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs or NSLP (Angela). This set of standards stated that going forward, school lunch programs had to count fruits and vegetables as separate meal groups, offer fruit every day, make half of grain choices whole grains, offer different meal
Research has found that when kids get enough exercise, their learning skills, attitude and behavior at school improve. The same is true when they have access to healthy food choices. In response to that, there would be an immense outcome of benefits, such as lessening obesity and kids would be able to focus more in school because they would be obtaining healthier school lunches. Proven by researchers' children can process and learn more accurately by eating nutritious meals, unfortunately current lunch meals can not help improve that. Buddha once said, “ To keep the body in good health is a duty...otherwise we shall not be able to keep our minds strong and clear.” A trend started across the United States several years ago towards improving the quality of food provided for students eating school lunch. “School lunch has evolved quite a bite over the last century”(Avey). In spite of this evolution, there are many reasons why the public school system should further improve their daily lunch program. These changes would still include the daily recommended balance of fruits, vegetables, proteins, and carbohydrates. The top three reasons to improve school lunches include: obesity rate, overall grades, and lifelong habits.
Of all of the problems that dishearten children today, the one that bothers them the most is being unhealthy. Unhealthy foods should be eliminated in schools for many reasons. First of all, kids concentrate better when they are healthy. Being healthy helps children to concentrate better because if they are healthy in the inside and the outside, they will not have to worry about their health or how they look.
