Hi Sharon. It’s quite fascinating that we have a common interest in trauma. I consider myself to be a calm person even when I am stressed. I didn’t know about my ability to manage stress until the first semester of my Freshmen year. I was at Target and noticed an elderly lady collapse on the ground. At first, I was a little shocked, but I immediately recognized that she needed assistance. I ran toward her. Checked for a pulse, in which I was unable to obtain. I then proceeded to provide CPR. It was my first time since when I was trained at a nursing home, but it was interesting as I was assessing the lady. The materials that we covered in class flooded my mind, and allowed me resuscitate her. If you enjoy thinking critically and efficiently

It is vital for support of the mental health professionals that I work with, as well as myself in private practice, to pay close attention to development of any of the conditions and that at the agency I work for, there is information, training, and encouragement of self-care. For purposes of this examination, trauma related stress is divided into these four main conditions. To understand the extent and intensity of symptomology that psychologists are exposed to while providing services to trauma survivors, it is important to appreciate the types of severe symptoms that can occur because of major trauma.
In recovery a person with an addiction may go through a period of struggles or melancholy deeply rooted from a dark mood that qualifies as being a dark night of the soul. Often times, caused by true life changes and undesirable experience of the soul itself. Meanwhile, a seemingly insignificant event may cause a dark night to occur. Even when individuals experience spiritual crisis, it may cause a tremendous disruption in their mental, emotional, physical, and social functioning during sobriety or recovery. Basically, trauma or a detrimental event such as: failure, conscious or unconscious memories, and significant loss may ignite, when a person realize the highs and how the low points has ruined or caused them to be in a dark place in their

Trauma Nurses start out their 12-hour shift by making sure they have all the supplies for when a patient comes through the door. Once a patient comes in the nurse then works with the rest of his or her crew to help stabilize the patient. They also help with giving them intravenously (IV) in their arms, drugs or medicine, and drawing blood from the patient. There will be one trauma nurse that will then document everything they do to the patient while in their care (“ How to Become a Trauma Nurse: Salary, Job Description, Job Requirements”). A trauma nurse see different things everyday these things can be from fires, tornados, car wrecks, and shootings. My aunt from Louisiana is also a trauma nurse I get told lots of stories by her. The story
Despite medical advancements over the past decade, trauma remains the leading cause of fatality among persons 1 to 44 years of age, and is the 4th leading cause of death among all ages in the United States1,2. Although many trauma victims succumb to overwhelming injuries early on, patients who survive initial injury undergo a period of immunoinflammatory dysregulation which under overwhelming circumstances, can lead to organ dysfunction, respiratory distress syndrome (ARDs), nosocomial infection, multiple organ failure (MOF), and ultimately death3,4. Although the specific cellular mechanisms behind these damage-induced inflammatory responses
In today’s world, trauma is incredibly relevant. The world seems full of terrorism, of dangers, of possible trauma just waiting to happen. As we live our lives in what seems to be an ever-increasing level of fright (although perhaps that’s just the effect of the media), it’s crucial to understand how trauma works and how to overcome it.
This trauma case primarily involves two American Indian clients: grandmother (caregiver) and 21 month old female (grandchild), DHS, and Indian Child Welfare. There are two twin boys (grandchildren), who were born as premature meth babies, however, no signs of trauma or developmental issues appear at this time. The 21 month old female child has been a victim of childhood trauma invoked by her biological parents and secondary trauma experiences of verbal and physical abuse of grandmother by the biological parents.
No matter what condition you're living with, be it fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, OCD, depression, etc., there is one thing you and nearly every single person with an invisible illness have in common, and that something is:
Data collection this this article took place in the Department of Psychiatry, University Clinical Center Tuzla and in the large classrooms of a military camp in Tuzla with the written permission of the Defense Ministry of Armed Forces Bosnia and Herzegovina (Hasanović, & Pajević, 2015, p. 13). Even though it would be difficult to collect the exact sample to replicate this study, inferences could be made to sampling participants outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, 120 veterans will be needed for the sample, consisting of 2 groups of 60 participants each. Group one will consist of individuals with PTSD, which are not active military members. Excluding factors used will be; the existence of psychotic co-morbidity, the presence of physical
withdraw from others. While in the face of trauma, some may reach out for support, many tend to withdraw as a self-protective mechanism. This also makes sense in terms of any potential survivor’s guilt, which XX seems to be experiencing. Specifically, because XX has been avoiding the public for fear of running into the family of the girl in the other vehicle who was killed, it is possible that he is also harboring guilt that he survived, and it is this avoidance of guilt that is paired with avoidance of the family.
As Ira turned the corner, he was surprised to see a person in a dark jacket who was next to his car. Ira, got frightened he did not know who this person was. Ira, yelled loudly “who are you and what are doing next to my car?” The person didn’t answer Ira yelled again “if you don’t tell me who you are I am going to call the cops.” Then, all of a sudden someone comes from behind him and hits him in the back of the head with a gun and they broke his car window and took his car with them. Ira lay on the ground unconscious not knowing where he was. The next day Ira woke up in a hospital bed not knowing how he got there. After, about 1 week or so Ira was feeling a lot better than he used to be but the doctors still had him on some medicine
The proposed treatment plan is appropriate as it provides concrete goals, objectives, and tasks that will allow Lee to focus on his anxiety as it relates to avoidance of his trauma history. While the homework tasks have been modified to incorporate his knowledge and use of technology, he may not engage in the activities if the activities employ thoughts or feelings related to his trauma experience as it his tendency to avoid these thoughts and feelings. His direct support staff are available to him to assist with homework if the task becomes daunting for him; however, it is unlikely that he will immediately seek staff out for assistance due to his lack of trust with others. This plan does not incorporate the administration of medications which is consistent with Lee’s desires to avoid using them. However, the level of anxiety he experiences is significant and displayed frequently, therefore, medications may be needed. Additionally, if his anxieties are continually engaged in therapy sessions, this may slow down the progress of therapy and additional sessions may be needed.
I am unknown to the human eye, that has stayed alive. Every full moon, I go to a house and do something I am forced to do. I am done my training, and my life is already planned out for me. Understanding isn't the same as wanting, knowing isn't the same as doing, but that is what is expected of me. I had gotten used to adding a new object, and this one was the same as the rest. I placed the tan coloured piece towards the right side of the table. Suddenly, a maid came in and instructed that I destroy another life, which was requested by my late father.
