Hi Veri! Your examples are great, especially the example you provided between the spider crab and the algae. Interesting how the algae offers its camouflage to the spider crab, showing a type of warning coloration. I also used the same example to show a commensal relationship, so I completely agree with you that commensalism is real. Great post overall!
I am currently a 3rd year nursing student at Ryerson University and have recently become extremely interested in physiotherapy. This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to work with the University Health Network as a Patient Observer, where I was able to discuss with many physiotherapists about the nature of their jobs. Every physiotherapist spoke with the utmost positivity when discussing their position even after numerous years of practice. This inspired me to pursue my goal of becoming a physiotherapist in the future as it is something I am very passionate about.
Unit 10 was a closure for the previous four units in the process of inventing Canada. This unit based on the earliest resources on Canadian history and on the first nations whom lived in this country. This resources were about pre-Cartier and his explorations. Some nations, for example the people who lived in St. Lawrence valley – whom did not have a specific name to be called at- and historians still lacking enough evidence on their existence or what happened with them. These people who are identified as St. Lawrence Iroquoians were lived in the contact area which means the conquerors reached them first. The Iroquoians were exposed to all the dangers Europeans carried into the native lands, different types of diseases they were not immune
Hi Teagen! I agree with the idea that the expansion of suffrage to non-propertied white males in the 1820s and 1830s was an advancement in American political life. I found in the book that through the westward expansion, most of the new states in America allowed all white males to vote at the age of 21 (Faragher, 258). Also before 1800 only white males that owned property or were taxpayers could vote in most of the original thirteen states (Faragher, 257). This was important because it led to the presidential electors and governors to be elected by a direct vote of men from all classes, rather than by small groups of state legislators (Faragher, 258). I agree that this lead to delaying suffrage of white women and African Americans. This contradicts
You make a valid point, which is to discern why the evaluation is being used. Can you share the way the program introduced the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised Edition? If they agency you work for didn’t how would you introduce it?
I enjoyed your reading post. These are all the positive aspects of the ACA. Access to quality healthcare is important because it saves lives. Though this law has its challenges it's beneficial for US citizens. Case in point Canada's healthcare system . Every citizen has healthcare and it is paid through taxes. This law also helps medical professionals pay loans and gain scholarships. Some people are saying it's unethical due to the bill of rights. They claim that people living in the US only have rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. How can anyone have these three things if they are in poor health?
You make a great point with the correlation of the lack of necessity for a warrant and invading our privacy. Perhaps it would be more appropriate for an all inclusive warrant, such as one initial warrant given for probably cause of a terroristic threat. Would you still feel our privacy would be assaulted with this process? It could justify utilizing unrelated evidence unrelated to terrorism.
Hi Octavia. I also stated some of the same challenges you stated. It’s hard finding a balance between work, family, and studying. You want to be able to interact with your family once you leave work, but your focus should be on reading the next chapter. With me I can get side tracked easily. I’ll end up helping my little girl with her work and then she’ll want to go out for dinner or to play. Once I start to interact with her I lose track of everything. When everything is over, I have to go to bed for work. It’s hard but you have to have self-control. I must say in the past when I was taking online classes I had a great support team. My boyfriend was very understanding and supportive. Someone from my class was always available. It was a great
Hi Micquaya. When I think of mental health itself, I do not automatically think of people that are suffering from a psychological issue. Mental health to me is just your psychological status. Mental illness causes me to think a psychological issue. The two are not the same in my eyes. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Physical health is just the status but if I were to say a physical disability it is completely different. The ways to promote good mental health are numerous. Taking care of your body is definitely a good way. Many times our mental status is directly related to our physical health. I know for me, it is hard to think clear when I do not get enough sleep.
Hi Margairia, your story is like so many others that was affected by cancer. Some of us are not educated on it until it affects someone near to use. Cancer is a horrible disease that will affect us all one way or another. My uncle that passed this week, his cancer started off in the bone. Then we were told it had spread to his mouth where it also began to have tumors in as well. The number of things that cancer does to one’s mind and body is indescribable. This pushes me more to maintain a healthy lifestyle so that my children can continue to carry it out.
Use on training days only. Take 1 serving (1 scoop) approximately 15-30 minutes prior to training, blended into 120 – 200ml (6-8oz) of cold water or beverage, or as suggested by a qualified healthcare
Our town rests over many acres of forestry, lakes and valleys, where we get our food, inspiration, entertainment and shelter from. We respect the earth we live on and make sure only to take what we need from it. Decoris is a society of peace, where respect and generosity matter most. We believe in discussing issues with the entire community and respecting everyone’s values equally. Homophobia, sexism, racism and stereotypes are left in the past because we believe in the complete equality that everyone so deserves. From birth, our children are taught that and we treat them as equally valuable members of community. They work side by side with the adults, to help work move faster and to learn about jobs so they can choose what to be when they
The god Tir, also known as Tiw, Tyr, Tiwaz and Mars is one that influenced many past cultures, but not very well known today. In Norse mythology, Tyr was once a monotheistic god, worshiped as the god of war, justice, law, and order. Some early Germanic peoples connected Tyr with Mars, the Roman god of war. One influence is the third day of the week, known as dies Martis and Mars' Day in Latin, and also has become known as Tyrsdagr to the Norwegians and in the English dictionary as Tuesday. The name Tyr is pronounced like the English word tier. This god is better known for war, but he is also the one who presides over matters of law and justice, making the world honest and honorable. One of the duties that was mentioned
I was devastated to hear that only ten students were allowed into ENG 102 for the spring semester, but this is my opportunity to show you that I deserve to be put in ENG 102. I believe I should be one of the ten students to advance into your ENG 102 class because I think I have what it takes. I have ambitions and dreams and if I don’t graduate because of this class they will just burn to ashes in the back of my mind. Hopefully you will be persuaded by the end of this essay, and you will end up putting me in your 102 class.
Hi Abbie, Thank you for sharing your information. I thought Internet was just for young people. But I was surprised that many older adults were using the Internet. Many of older adults have enthusiastically adopted it to keep up with the times as well as their old acquaintances and younger family members. Many grandparents are becoming proficient in alien things like Skype and Facebook. It has beneficial effects on mental health. According to the Pew Research Center, social networking use among internet users ages 50 and older has nearly doubled from 22% to 42% over the past year. My grandmother is 79 years old and she is better at Internet than me. Good
articles. Again, the search was very limited. Realizing the need to narrow the search, I then used the CINAHL Subject Headings as a component for my search. Subject Heading Search Keeping note that the keyword retrieval left me with 3,087 articles, I then used CINAHL Headings for my search. The CINAHL Heading search allows the search of literature with certain terms desired in the references. By typing “hand washing” under the CINAHL Heading and browsed, I was given terms that were related to hand washing. The terms were ranked based on the relevancy of importance related to the subject. Handwashing was the first term found and by clicking on its link, I was taken to a term detailed screen. Listed was handwashing under the “Tree View” terms, which are hierarchy groupings of subject headings. The subheadings were also found here. I chose handwashing and infection control. By clicking on the subheadings and the “Explode” link, I then gained access to articles that contained terms about handwashing or infection control. The “Explode” link is thought of as an operators of “OR”. It is used to find articles containing the keyword or other words as chosen. Once I exploded handwashing with infection control, I found myself with 1,626 articles
