I understand better about awareness and why it is important to have high level of awareness as well. I think this is a very useful topic as we are living in such a fast paced society and most of the time we are so focused on the task at hand that we ignore our surrounding environment, friends and family. The exercises recommended are also very useful to me and I will try to become more aware of myself as well as my
As an Exercise Physiology and Nutrition major, I plan on using my degree to promote wellness in the school system. America is facing an obesity epidemic and I intend to make a difference by tackling childhood obesity.
The three sections of the Wellness Triangle are, first, the Physical section -- which refers to the physical health of a person, including things such as the frequency of one’s exercise, their eating habits and diet, the percentage of one’s body mass which consists of fat/muscle, the amount of sleep they typically get, and personal hygiene -- second, the Mental/Emotional section -- which refers to the mental and emotional health and/or stability of a person, including things such as if one does or does not have mental illnesses such as depression, severe anxiety, and/or any disorders
Survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) has a higher probability of a life time barriers associated with experience compared to their counterparts. The inquiry chosen focuses on the effectiveness of the Wellness-Program for female survivors of CSA. An evaluation of the program from participants and a qualitative study provides insight on the program and the effect it has on their life, health, and well-being. The commonality of the Wellness Program and the Self-Awareness Model (SAM) is utilizing the holistic (mind, body, and soul) approach in the treatment of CSA. The Wellness Program utilizes a nurse led group session where women could share their experiences with childhood sexual abuse (Agnarsdottir, Bender, Halldorsdottir, & Sigurdardottir, 2015). McSwain’s SAM program is used also throughout group sessions for women who are survivors CSA. The SAM program suggest to participants to discuss topics, such as, environment, friendships, and drugs as it relates to their issues with CSA (McSwain,2010). The programs envision by women sharing their stories participants in group sessions will feel empowered and realize they are not alone as a survivor of CSA.
Through Interpersonal Communication course I took in first semester in school, I have increased self-awareness. Every day, I keep learning more and more about myself. Not only that, but also, practice skills, and integration of knowledge and practice. For years, I have not seen self-awareness important, and also do not know my strengths and weaknesses. Though, I had an idea what my likes and dislikes were but my self-awareness was missing. Self-awareness is important because it can help us to recognize when we are stressed or under pressure. Self-awareness will also advance interpersonal relations, and also for developing empathy for others.
University of Southern California’s Master of Science in Global Medicine (MSGM) Program is a one-year long specialized program dedicated to “the understanding, prevention, and treatment of disease on a global scale” according to their mission statement.
The one aspect that I found most interesting about the reading was the section titled wellness. I found this section very interesting because I can relate to most of the issues that this section touches. For example, as a graduate student one is more times than none, very busy and always on the go. Therefore, when it comes to eating we most often rely on fast food or any junk food that fulfills our hunger. But, we fail to realize that we are damaging our body and as result, we tend to adopt this lifestyle as grad student. Also, staying up late and not getting enough sleep can bring negative outcomes to our wellbeing. More importantly, one needs to adopt a healthy lifestyle to be able to function properly on every day
What would you do if you were trying so hard to fit in, but found out that you’re perfect just the way you are? People everyday try so hard to be who they are not. This is because they think it is weird or stupid to be a little different amongst the rest. We judge each other because of our different styles, but if we were all the same and had everything in common the world would be such a tedious and bland place. I say, there is nothing wrong by us having a diversity of different interest.
Goal: to write a blog article on how to save money on a wellness program for companies

There are many different experiences that have challenged my wellness. One experience that I would like to talk about is playing the sport of basketball. Throughout my time playing basketball I’ve learned a lot, and challenged my wellness. Every day we have practice, we have to be responsible, show up on time, and be ready to play. On game days we have to dress up and look professional. We also have to be ready to perform at our very best.
Wellness to me isn't just physical. It means being well in your mind, your body, and your soul. To start you have to look at your life and figure out what isn't working for you, and improve upon those things. Once you have figured those things out figure out how to make your life better. You can't have wellness until you have all three in an order that works for you. This doesn't mean being a size 6 as long as you're living life in a healthy way. Just because something works for some people doesn't mean it will work well for you. This has to be individualized for each person and/or
1.The app is claiming to impact the general wellness aspect of one’s personal health through the use of practicing mindfulness while meditating. I would describe my general wellness as good before using the app but, I still wanted to see changes. I generally get anxious over things that I do not think should make me feel this way and I am hoping the app will help me cope with this. Changes that I wanted to see while using this app is a decrease in stress and anxiety by having set exercises for helping me with this. I am not expecting to see any major changes in myself over this period of time since the assignment is only for one week. I am hoping to continue with the app after the one week and then see more significant impacts in my general
Upon reflection of my time in college, there are some lessons learned and much more to be learned. Lessons regarding how to maintain a healthy lifestyle in general as well as how to set myself up for a healthy future have been learned. So far, I have learned lessons of mental, social, and intellectual wellness, while needing more work in occupational and financial wellness for the future
There will be five dimensions explained under this topic. Which are: Financial dimension, physical dimension, intellectual dimension, emotional dimension and social dimension. Wellness is substantially more than only physical wellbeing, activity or sustenance. It is the full coordination of conditions of these five dimensions.
Physical, emotional, intellectual, interpersonal, spiritual, and environmental wellness are all considered the six dimensions of wellness with occupational wellness being the possible seventh. But what are these exactly? And how do they apply to me and my health and wellness?
