Atypical is what defines me, my journey through high school has had its ups and down. From taking advanced courses since freshman year until now, I like to be both physically and mentally challenged, I enjoy trying new sports as well as joining clubs. As an independent young woman I am always on the hunt for new opportunities and barriers to break.
High school has been a learning experience both academically as well as socially. It was a social learning experience, because I knew no one prior to attending the my high school. This opportunity gave me the chance to branch out, and find who I am and who I want to become. With this opportunity I joined many clubs such as Student Council, Inprof class, Unidos (Latino led the group), CityWide

Afterward, as a junior and senior I ran for president, and I am now in charge of overseeing the council's events and fundraisers. As president my junior year I was able to cut our council’s debt in half as well as diversifying our council. Something I was capable to accomplish as president was getting a grant from our school’s foundation pay our state trip to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where our council received three awards. The grant also paid off some of our debt left from a previous event that didn't go as we hoped the year before, the grant was also able to pay for each delegate to have apparel on our council. During the same time I was the Citywide Student governments and Hennepin Division president. The role I play at being citywide president is to ensure that every high school in my district is equally heard and funded. During my presidency as MASC Hennepin Division President, my purpose was organized large submits for all student councils in Hennepin County. In these submits we would discuss policy and issues that were a problem within our county, that we could address at our state conference to gain more support to bring up to Minnesota Department of education. Girls Inc. is a girl's investment challenge, that taught me how to be financially prepared for my future as well as taught me about the stock market and bonds. My personal experience with extra curricular in the community is
Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in various clubs and organizations to help me become a leader in my community. At Auburn High School I took on the role of being a Publicist officer for National Technical Honors Society the first two consecutive years that it became a part of our school. I gained a lot of leadership experience through this club. Implementing a new organization is never easy and takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the leaders of the club. By being a part of a very helpful, dedicated and motivated team, we helped affiliate all the eligible members into the club and in turn helped introduce this new club to the school. As publicist my role in helping the club grow was crucial; I helped in publicizing the clubs various projects and involvement.
During 8th grade at Howard D. McMillan Middle, I believed one person could make a difference if they just set their mind to do so. Our school had many restrictions and few student activities. Early that year I became interested in Student Government (S.G.) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), so I decided to run for President of both clubs hoping to make a change.
High school is always considered some of the best years of life. Students live with their families, see their friends almost everyday, and participate in the activities they love with the people they love. It has enough freedom for the student to decide how hard they will try, but it also has just the right amount of restrictions that parents can step in to make the student work. High school also gives students many opportunities to succeed and keep letting them try again if they fail. For example, a math teacher may allow a student to retake two test throughout a semester, but if the student proves that they are trying in the class then the teacher may allow them to retake a few more tests. Also, schoolwork is not tedious or lengthy,
I started high school as a shy person who was afraid to talk to people, but now as a Senior I am now an outgoing person who loves to encourage people and advocate for FFA and agriculture.
In high school I have learned the true meaning of being selfless and what the gift of giving is. I have spent much of my high school career volunteering at school and in the community. Many students spend their years of high school partying and hanging out with their friends, but I have dedicated myself to staying after school every day to volunteer and help the Athletic Trainer at the High School, as well as being a part of our schools community service group, Youth Core, as an officer.
High school, for many, is commonly termed as “the greatest four years of your life.” It is stopping for coffee with your friends while listening to your favorite songs on the way to school in the morning. It is staring at the clock waiting for the bell to ring to finally go to your favorite class of the day. It is staying after a long day of class for meetings, clubs, or sports, or it is spending Friday nights with your best friends performing under the football field lights. High school can be many different experiences for different people, but most importantly, for me, it was learning essential values of life while shaping me into the person that I am today.
Over my high school years at Waukesha North, I have had a very diverse and fun experience. From my sophomore year when i started working and earning my own money to my freshman year when i joined marching band. High school has taught me a lot about myself and others, and i only plan to further the knowledge through my college years.
On April 26, 2017 I was made eighth grade secretary. Last year Mrs. Trimble, our advisor, just had us in her advisory. Thirty minutes a week to organize immense school functions for a little over one-thousand students wasn’t enough time, imagine that. This year we have student council as an elective class, so we are allowed more time to do what we need to. This is extremely nice because we have a lot to do as a board. Student council positions in high school can open up opportunities to apply for scholarships and prepare you for future jobs. Soon enough, I’ll start thinking about those possibilities, but all the worry is worth
Many people ask me what are my plans after high school? Luckily, I have come to the decision to be in the military and attend a postsecondary education and major in Nursing with the intention of becoming a Pediatrician or becoming an Architect.
It was the rude awakening I need to be successful. It was both good and bad. High school made me realize that I can not do everything I want. If I do I will be overwhelmed and will not reach my full academic potential. That was bad because I realized I could not be in as many classes as I wanted. The good part of this is that it helped me stay on the correct path. High school gave me a new perspective on how to look at people who seem to be struggling, cool, awkward, or some other way to describe a person and think about what is going on in their life before judging them.
My most favorite part about Belding High School is the staff’s ability to build relationships with their students. I have never felt like just another kid in any of my classes. My teachers take interest in what I have to say, and what is happening in my life. I have been able to learn not only state requirements, but how to live successfully. I have also found such inspiring passions due to being a part of the Drama Club and Student Council. I cannot wait to join similar organizations in
My high school experience was overall a mixture of being scared and growing to become who I am today. When I was in my first years of high school, it was just high school nothing more. I had seen teachers as teachers and friends as friends. I just
High school is such a different experience for everyone. We all take different paths and learn new things everyday. We learn trigonometry, how to fix cars, how to dissect a frog, and different laws in the world. The things we learn in class are very important, but along the way of expanding our educations, one will tend to learn a lot about themselves and others. For me, I feel that my high school experience was not ideal and I constantly complain about the outcome. Looking back in grade eight, I had a different plan for me. It took me up until this year to realize that although my experience was not something worth bragging about, I've learned a lot about who I am. I've learned to take chances, be patient, and
While in high school I always could not do all the activities I wanted because I had to take care of younger siblings because my parents worked. Out of the ones I did do though there were a few that I found impacted me. I chose to do Fencing in 10th grade and I am especially thankful I did. It provided me with skills that I could later use and a tight knit, trusty group of friends who were always there for each other. We congratulated each other in each success and picked each other back up after every defeat. We helped each other outside of Fencing too. I also was accepted in Morehead’s Health Science Academy and that made my high school experience even better in my opinion. We learned from each other and helped each other. We laughed, we
