When it comes to landing jobs, effective resume writing is not the only skill you need to possess. Even if you managed to impress the employer and got selected for an interview, you must surpass that stage before you can officially be an employee of that company. Precisely for this reason, you need to know certain very effective interview techniques. Since most jobs require communication with customers and colleagues on a daily basis, employers often look for effective communication skills instead of just impressive educational qualifications.

Employers prefer people who are not too proud and are flexible enough to work under anyone. Be honest in all your answers. You don’t need to convince the recruiter by leaning as close as possible against him or her. Get enough rest and wake up early to prepare for the interview. Ensure you finish everything required to for the week ahead. Do not cram in anything the night before because it will burn you out the next day. Keep in mind to always be yourself and stay honest, no matter what. When doing an informational interview you need to plan it out. Make a plan of what you’re going to ask give yourself 15 to 30 minutes to do the interview. Dress nice like you would if you were going to do that job. Make the interview interesting and some things that you’re into. Like when your older and move out are you going to get a house or an apartment and share with friends or are you going to stay at home with mom and dad? Why? It has been disputed that clothes does make the man and it certainly can be a deal breaker on several occurrences, particularly during first impressions, whether on a first date, meeting the parents, or at an interview. If at job interview the candidate is dressed inappropriately, chances are he/she may not be hired. A job interview is an opportunity to market oneself in the most notable way possible. Before going to an interview, I try to prepare myself the best I can by looking at the company’s website. Sometimes I will even take a tour to get a feel of the company’s climate and feel confident that I will not get lost driving there or get lost within the building.
