Ever since she’s been appealing to her audience in ways that only she can. In the democratic party, her main opponent was Vermont senator, Bernie Sanders. She was able to overpass Bernie Sanders and is now head to head with Republican candidate, Donald Trump.

The 2016 presidential election had been a contentious one even before the primaries began. A divide within parties and between the public grew increasingly evident over the past year, ultimately leading to a candidate with no prior political experience beating out a candidate with forty-plus years on her resume. Scandals plagued both campaigns, however, polls and positive media coverage stayed firmly in Hillary Clinton’s favor throughout the duration of the election process with Donald Trump even claiming that the polls were “rigged” and the media was biased. While the veracity of these claims cannot be verified, today we know that the polls were wrong and the media that all but handed the election to Clinton were wrong as well. So how did Trump, someone many said would need a miracle to make it to the White House, beat all the odds and his seemingly strong opponent to become President? Though pundits are still struggling to understand it, the rise of Donald Trump shouldn’t have surprised anyone. One of the beauties of being in a democracy is being able to let the citizens decide who they want as their leader. In today’s world, the most controversial politician in this era is the president of the U.S. How did Trump possibly get to the point where he was able to lead the republican party, even with overflowing controversy? Can anybody with immense wealth/fortune and/or credible political connections become the frontrunner of the presidential election? Regardless of one’s answer, after this presidential election the outlook on the set up and landscape of politics will change drastically. The accusations of assault, moral dishonesty, and racism towards Trump has brought more turmoil in the political world, feuds among the people, and rambunctious protests within communities than any other presidential election this century. Even though degrading controversy is associated with Trump, he was still able to use highly effective sarcastic and hyperbolic rhetoric, which translated to entertainment, to capture votes and overcome accusations of assault.

Trump won the Republican primary. Since the day he announced his candidacy by riding down an escalator in Trump Tower, pundits and politicians didn’t seriously believe he had a chance. As the debates were held and the primaries went on, it became apparent that he had an actual chance of winning the nomination. The Republican primary showed that there was an anger toward traditional politicians, an anger which Donald Trump tapped into. The rise of Trump also showed that the old rules of what was acceptable to say do not apply any more. These and other factors lead me to the conclusion that the Republican party lost control of the 2016 primary election and failed to choose its eventual nominee.

Hillary Clinton has served as Secretary of State, Senator from New York, First Lady of the United States, First Lady of Arkansas, a practicing lawyer and law professor, activist, and as a volunteer. After almost two years on the campaign trail, the United States of America has finally elected its new president, Donald Trump. No that is not a typo, this is real life. It was a hard fought battle between Hillary Clinton and the Donald which ultimately lead to one of the most shocking upsets in recent American politics. During Bill’s presidency Hillary Clinton had accomplished some great accomplishments as First Lady. Before being known as the first lady Mrs. Clinton was Arkansas’s first lady for twelve years. As Arkansas’s first lady she was on the chair for the Arkansas Education Standards committee to improve their education system. She also worked as a director of Walmart where she was pushing for more women in management and to have a comprehensive environmental program.

When you hear the name Hillary Clinton the first thing that pops into your head, that she is a woman who is running for presidency and might even win this year in 2016.Which will make her the first woman president of the United States of America. Hillary is not only facing some obstacles with the Republican Party, but as well with the US government who are seeking an indictment to put Hillary behind bars. The US government says that Hillary broken some regulations, and by breaking those regulations she broke the law. This regulation’s where broken while she was serving her term as Secretary of State for the United States. Many people believe that Hillary Clinton should not be indicted by the government for mishandling confidential information by using a personal account; I believe Hillary Clinton broke protocol and breached safety measures by using a non-secure email server.

On June 16th, 2015 Donald Trump declared he was running for office. From that day, the mainstream media has never given the President a fair opportunity. Liberals and the left-leaning media groups find ways to bash and belittle his every action. Being mistreated, Trump’s many significant accomplishments, like the rise of the stock market, are picked apart to be diminished or not reported. Saying what is on his mind, Trump has gotten the support of many Republicans, who are also exhausted by the media and the corruption of their stories along with the corruption in the government.

Donald Trump was elected president of the United States of America on November 8th, 2016, and now has been running our country for over a year. As Trump’s first year in office slowly began, his reputation seems to be creating different outside views of our nation and arguments started producing everywhere. After competing with Hillary Clinton for the presidential term in office, Trump defeated her along with her democratic supporters causing one of the most shocking elections in U.S. history.
