Life in Germany was worse after Hitler had joined the Nazi Party between the years of 1933 and 1939 because he had his own ideas on how he wanted Germany to be that went against the democracy. Before the Nazis came about, Germany was controlled by the Weimar Republic, the newly formed Government system that had taken over from the monarchy. Adolf Hitler helped improve Germany by giving full employment and economic growth, regaining territory that they had previously lost, increasing their pride, and successfully hosting and performing in the 1936 Olympics. Though there were many positives, there were also many negatives with the loss of freedom, individuals being arrested for simply saying something against the Nazis, and the economic growth being solely focused on military needs. As a whole, the decisions Adolf Hitler made had more of a negative impact on Germany than a positive impact as the affects of the Totalitarian rule cannot compare to the positives that he did bring to Germany.
The Weimar Republic was weak and all of Germany were going through hardships because of the Treaty of Versailles where they had to pay back repatriations. The Great Depression also put Germany further under leaving people with no jobs therefore no money coming in. Hitler promised the people of Germany work to those unemployed, the expansion of the army, a feeling of unity, that he would tear up the Treaty of Versailles, and restore Germany’s glory and strength (Sheridan, 2015, Slides 38 and
Adolf Hitler was one of the most influential people in the interwar era. His actions during the interwar era caused World War II, which had enormous impacts on almost every country in the world. There are three reasons why he gained so much influence in Germany. First of all people were disappointed in the current German government and wanted a change. Secondly, Hitler and his Nazi party were similar in ideology to the majority of people and finally he was a great orator who used his similarity to the rest of the German people to help his party grow and to help himself become dictator.
Hitler took control of Germany in 1933. While Hitler is commonly known for negative reasons, I feel there is much that can be appreciated about his time in leadership. Hitler was not always such a harsh man. During his time Hitler declared that testing on animals was not to be done and that it was inhuman. Hitler felt that nature was something to be respected, and by treating animals with no disrespect he felt that he was respecting nature. Hitler also created the first anti-smoking (tobacco) campaign. During his time as a leader of Germany, German doctors discovered the negative effects of tobacco.
World War II officially began in Poland, 1939, after a Nazi invasion. It is known to be the most destructive war in history, with an overall amount of about 60 million deaths. Adolf Hitler, German dictator, played an extremely big role in this war, causing battlegrounds world-wide and opening the nuclear age. He changed the way most people think about the countries that were involved in this war, and made a huge impact on our lives today. Adolf Hitler was significant to WWII because he officially started the war and the Holocaust (A and networks Digital ).
The weaknesses of the Weimar Republic helped Hitler’s leadership become significant. It first started when Germany lost World War One. The government had to take the blame and lost followers. It also weakened when the terms of the Treaty of Versailles were announced. The German army was reduced to almost nothing. There were no tanks or aircrafts allowed for their military. The Rhineland was taken away from Germany and was demilitarized to nothing. And Germany had to take the blame for World War One and pay reparations for it. Since Germany had to pay reparations, their economy crashed and money was worth very little then to nothing. Then in 1929, America’s stock market crashed and countries around the world felt the impact, especially Germany. The Great Depression was a worldwide problem. Then the Nazis created
In his first six years in power Germany had a rapid economic recovery from the Great Depression. The restrictions that were forced on Germany after World War I, the annexation of territories that were home to millions of ethnic Germans, and their actions gave Hitler the much needed popular support.
Some of the greatest totalitarian leaders before Hitler’s time looted art such as Napoleon the past emperor over the french. One of the most grueling actions Hitler took during World War II was the looting of art. Hitler stole art for his own selfish reasons and, it was the brave Monuments Men who helped restore and recover the missing artwork before the invasion of the axis powers although a lot of the work was lost during the war. It is estimated that over 650,000 pieces, one fifth of Europe’s artwork was stolen by the Nazi’s during World War II .
This period of time produced political and economic issues for several nations, including the United States and Europe. This put countries in weak positions and this led to governments power thinning. This new loss of power prompted groups to rise to their own power such as Nazi’s in Germany. After Hitler was suppressed for a long period of time and was residing in jail previous to his dominance over political parties, the Great Depression provided the perfect opportunity to seize the power he so desperately wanted and helped the Nazi party suppress the government. Political parties at this point of the Great Depression were doing the opposite of what they should have been doing which is working together in an effort to repair these immense economic problems many people were suffering from. The chancellor at the time, Hindenburg, eventually gave the position to Hitler and his rising Nazi party. Without the devastating economic problems that were associated with the Great Depression it would have been even more difficult for Hitler to become such a strong figure at this point in time. If Hitler would have never come to power a second world war may have never
Adolf Hitler was an intelligent man who greatly understood the minds of the German people. The constant exploration of the German people assisted him in controlling and influencing their cultural, social and everyday lives to conform to the Nazi state. The power and intelligence of the Nazi Party from 1933 to 1939 would forever change Germany and its way of life.
In 1933, German economy was in turmoil. Due to the previous economic structure of the Weimar republic, German economy had never been worse. Having a democracy that the society couldn’t pay for and didn’t want in the first place, caused many issues. As Hitler rose to power, he gave Germans a sense of hope and national pride. Hitler’s aim to controlling Germany however was not economic growth. He was more intrigued with improving the living standards and ending unemployment, in the end there was not a single consistent Nazi economic program.
Hugh Trevor Roper’s argument is agreeable for many reasons which will be included and explained in this essay. Hitler acted aggressively more than once and pushed limits but it is untruth to say he was solely to blame for World War Two. There are many factors which caused Hitler to act in such an aggressive manner, such as the extremely unfair Treaty of Versailles, the selfishness of Great Britain and France and the weak League of Nations. Hitler began to behave aggressively, when he began rearming, because the Treaty was an outrage and German people were furious at the unfairness of it. The League was a sham, Hitler got away with things he shouldn’t have
¬¬¬¬¬The Weimar Republic was the political system in power between 1918 and 1933. This political system lasted about 15 years, before giving Hitler the opportunity to rise to power. On October 29th, 1929, the stock market on Wall Street had collapsed, affecting nations worldwide. American investors hurried to sell their shares, withdrawing money from abroad. From this, unemployment rates rose and inflation occurred. Hitler had promised the country government stability and to unite the country as one, receiving support from the Germans. In addition to this, he also promised workers jobs and security, employers profit and farmers higher prices for their food. Aside of this however, there were many impacts under the rule of Adolf Hitler,
In 1933 January 30th, Adolf Hitler had commenced into being the chancellor of Germany. There had been several of reasons why Hitler became chancellor during that period of time. In 1929, depression was the most important factor, which was good for Hitler and the Nazis as they blamed the Weimar Republic, the Treaty of Versailles, the Communists, and Jews along with the promise to get rid of the 'enemy within' who were obliterating Germany. The German people had somewhat followed the outcome and followed Germany. Hitler along with the Nazis had used the time well whilst good organisation, teamwork and the skills of the propaganda to gain votes.
The most devastated facet of the German economy was its infrastructure. With Hitler’s previously mentioned scorched earth policy destroying a large percentage of it. Likewise, the war itself had a major impact “Much of [Germany’s] infrastructure, including major ports and railroad hubs, had been heavily bombed… Dresden had been [completely] destroyed [and seven million Germans lost their lives]” (Rienzi). Even if Germany had a sizeable workforce, they would have been unable to develop due to the utter destruction that morphed the region into a wasteland. In addition, factories were destroyed in order to dismantle the war making ability of the German state (Taylor). The removal of factories and other industries obviously hampered the economy,
Although Nazi economic politics appeared to have held together, ultimately the failed due to Hitler’s obsession with war preparation. While Hitler managed to hold his nation’s economy together ultimately his preparations ended up doing more damage to Germany’s economy. Hitler had specific goals in mind when he handle the German economy but most of the time Hitler could not achieve some of them without consequence due to his obsession. Hitler thought he could build jobs by facilitating the growth of his military. Hitler’s policies had a significant impact on all classes in Germany. Hitler also poorly handled economic crises through use of radical economic policies which did not work out.
The collapse of the economy of Germany in 1929 had effects that were very direct to the nation and many of the people in the nation had no jobs and therefore there was a very serious problem of unemployment and also there was then the rise of certain groups which were radical in nature and it gave room for people like Adolf Hitler to take part in the politics of Weimar and according to history he is one of the people who led to the decline of the republic of Weimar brought about by the politics which he
