My hometown is Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province, and it is a city which placed an important role in Chinese history and culture. It's located in the southeast of China and near by the center of low reaches of the Yangtze River. There are about eight million resident populations in Nanjing. And it's a great place to visit with four distinctive seasons. Welcome to Nanjing. Nanjing has served as the capital of China during several historical periods, and is listed as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. Nanjing is also one of the fifteen sub-provincial cities in the administrative structure of China, enjoying jurisdictional and economic autonomy only slightly less than that of a province. Nanjing located in the downstream Yangtze River drainage basin and Yangtze River Delta economic zone, Nanjing has always been one of China's most important cities. Apart from having been the capital of China for six dynasties and the Republic of China, Nanjing has also served as a national hub of education, research, transportation and tourism throughout history. It is also the second largest commercial center in the East China region, behind only Shanghai.
I think we should visit the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, where Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum was the site of the revolutionary forerunner, Mr. Sun Zhongshan. Modern day Chinatown is a vibrant and bustling community full of bright colors and Chinese characters adorning buildings as far as the eye can see. Chinese elders roam around the narrow and unkempt streets while children frolic around from store to store with wide smiles, riffling through toy stores as store owners look on. Mothers scurry from store to store searching for the most tender meats to buy for the night's dinner or for the next day's lunch. Tourists from nearby downtown drift into the heart of Chinatown with large and expensive cameras, posing for pictures with Lion head statues and continue on, buying cheap Chinatown goods along the way. Everywhere there are signs of the Chinese immigrant's sweat, labor, and collective efforts

1. China is divided into two major geographical regions: the steppe, desert, and high plateau west and northwest; and the eastern zone, more suitable for settled agriculture.
Geography plays a big role in ancient China. To start off, China is a very isolated country. The location of ancient China is the eastern part of Asia. To be more specific, Bejing China is located 40 degrees north and 116 degrees east. Shanghai is located 31 degrees north and 122 degrees east. Ancient China has many features that define it. For an example, it is built along two main rivers. They are the Yellow River and the Yangtze river. But it also has mountain ranges, deserts, and plains. The Grand Canal had a big role in ancient China. It was China's core economic and agricultural region away from the Yellow River, valley in the north and toward the southern provinces. The Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City is China’s most well know famous architecture. They had to change the land to build these two famous structures. Citizens of ancient China traded and got around to other countries by the Silk Road. Geography played a huge role in ancient China.

which was a phenomenal experience. First we went to Arlington Cemetery where a lot of war vets from older wars were buried there, and even if you died in the military today your family could choose to bury you there. And we walked to the top of the hill where the outstanding memorial of the “Unknown Soldier” which I think was my most cherished thing of the 2 days we were there. We also went to The Lincoln Memorial, The Holocaust Museum, The Washington Monument, The Vietnam, and 9/11 Memorial, and much more. While we were at the outdoor lobby at Arlington all the doors opened and a bunch of military, with guns, and K9’s rushed into the building because someone said that there was a bomb in the restroom. Everyone was running out of the building and just hoping there wasn’t a bomb in the Lobby or hope that it wouldn’t explode. We traveled a ways away and went to the Lincoln Memorial and never heard about it

Ports attract industry and thus development. Larger settlements develop to accommodate the shipping trade like warehousing, processing and commerce. Shanghai is the busiest port in the world and has developed because of this. Due to its excellent port, Shanghai has been a leading power of China's economic and trade development since ancient times. Its economy has increased by over 10% for 15 consecutive years and it accounts for 25% of the total value of China's imports and exports and 12.5% of the total revenue. By being in the coastal zone it has been a beacon for development and it is that has allowed it to gain the position of the third highest GDP in China. Shanghai has and will continue to develop because of its location near the
Now I’ll tell you about the geography of China. On the east of China there are two bodies of water, the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea. Then in the Southeast corner of China there is the South China Sea. In the Southwest corner is India. Sharing with India on its borders there is the Himalaya Mt. and within them is Mt. Everest which is one of the biggest mountains in the world. Coming from the east, the Yangzi River flows in and stops right around the center of China. Above it is the Huang He River that flows on the same direction the Yangzi River does. The top center of China is the Gobi Desert. There are many more geography than this but here are just some that I chose to talk about.

In 1937 Japan committed one of the bloodiest battles in history. A three month process had overtaken both Shanghai and Nanking. Months prior to the actual massacre, Japan sent over 100 air raids into both Nanking and Shanghai to kill endless civilians before they had even arrived. This helped sweep out the land to create less survivors. Japan rounded up thousands of Chinese men, women, and children only to slaughter them mercilessly. Women in China would shave their heads to look like the men and the Chinese soldiers were forced into hiding. Everyone was a target in order for Japan to overthrow the Chinese government. Over the course of three months, 300,000 Chinese civilians were murdered in cold blood. The Japanese would disguise themselves
