I agree with his opinion, and that calling all military veterans heroes is a misuse of the word. I believe the military in general does deserve respect, they perform a very dangerous job on behalf of the country. It is however, just that; a job. Military veterans, joined willingly, and make a living for themselves. Do not mistake me, I think we should be doing so much more for veterans, providing health care, specifically within mental health, providing jobs and more. However, calling all veterans heroes is a mistake, and it does devalue the word. Hero, is a term, that once might have been exclusively for the people we see in the medal of honor recipients below, those that faced great trials, and disregarding their own safety, acted solely
Veterans sacrificed their lives for us. A lot of those soldiers never thought they would have to actually go out and hurt someone. Throughout the battle a lot of people were really bad hurt and a lot did not make it. A lot gave there arms, and legs for us. They didn’t run away they stood their ground and gave their lives for us. The ones that got hurt or had scars will be the ones you can tell that never ran. Those are the ones that mabey saw others run, but stayed with tears but keep going. For these reasons, we should always be respectful and be glad they did it for us.
Veterans are heroes in the eyes of many citizens of the United States. There are over 20 million veterans that have risked their lives at young ages to help give the nation a fear free life. They serve and protect the land for their children, spouses, parents, family, and neighbors. Yet they are not treated with the love and respect they truly deserve. The veterans took a devastating loss when the “House Appropriations Subcommittee marked up the 2016 Veterans Affairs funding bill, and slashed more than $1.4 billion from the presidents requested budget for America’s Veterans” ( ask mrs. Pyle 8). Today, the veterans are treated worse than prisoners who have committed murder or rape. While these criminals have a safe and warm place to stay,
“A Veteran is someone, who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their life. Regardless of personal political views, that is an honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.”
Veterans are people that have battled in a war for their nation. Some tragically, aren't even alive any longer. In the the wars, veterans have stuck together as a group against the people who battled our nation. We are a united countery, and veterans have made it conceivable by securing us. Veterans Day is a day to respect every one of those people who have died for our nation. Veterans have given their time, mettle, boldness, lives, and quality for us and this nation. If not for the veterans, we likely wouldn't be here todayt. That is the way huge of an effect veterans have on this awesome nation. Therefore,The day is insufficient to demonstrate the gratefulness which is because of the incalculable number of brave men and ladies. As a human
Veterans Day was started on November 11, 1918. Before it was called veterans day it was called Armistice Day to represent the men who fought in WWI. After the United States went through WWII and the Korean War. The 83rd U.S. Congress amended the Act of 1938 by taking the word Armistice out and put the new word Veterans in place of it to represent every American that served in any war the U.S. has been in. Veterans Day was then moved to be celebrated on the fourth Monday of October, but most States didn’t agree with that decision made, so they tried it and it brought so much confusion when in 1971 it was celebrated on Oct. 25, until President Gerald R. Ford signed a law that states Veterans day will be moved onto the original
Despite the fact that only one day of the year is dedicated solely to honoring our veterans, our heroes,. I just want to say thank you for the sacrifices you and your families are making. For putting your lives on the line to protect the freedoms that we enjoy and for dedicating your lives to our country. Every veteran deserves to be recognized for their
Every year on November 11 we honor and remember all U.S. veterans who fought for our country and freedom. We express our gratitude, and reflect on the sacrifices that were made from all the men and women throughout history. Veterans Day has been an annual holiday since 1938, and originated on November 11, 1919 after WWI (U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, 2015). Veterans Day is not just like any other American holiday. It expresses our thanks, as American citizens, to all of those that came and fought before us to keep the United States a free country. Veterans Day has evolved over the years from being a day to honor the veterans of World War I, to becoming a staple in the American calendar so that citizens
As you can see why veterans are american heroes is because they protect our rights, also
Any man or woman who goes to war to serve for our country should always remain recognized for their sacrificial decisions to protect all the people of the United States. That is why Veteran’s Day is so important to the not only the troops’ family, but to everyone. Individually we recognize the hard work that they do, the daily sacrifices they make, and putting their life on the line for our freedom and justice. Veteran’s day is for current troops who are serving and for former troops as a consequence to renounce their great doings. All veterans should always continue to obtain recognition for when they served no matter when or where it was. If it weren’t for our
Why are veterans considered heroes? I believe that veterans are heroes because they willingly put there life on the line for other people in our country. They left their families to help the rest of the country. Just thinking about leaving my family is heartbreaking. I look at the veterans i know and wonder how they did it, how hard it was for them to leave there all the time ,to miss holidays and birthday. It had to be even harder to only get to see your kids and wife every couple months or even two or three times a year.this is why i think veterans are heroes.
The American hero Vet award goes to Joy because she have given back to the community and has risk her life to save animals. She is one of the best veterans in Tennessee. She is a trained rescue worker always rushing to provide life-saving services to animals after a disaster or animal fighting raid; she is always ready to help. She goes above and beyond to save the lives of animals; she is very passionate about her job. What makes her unique is that she is the youngest person to ever receive this award. To qualify for this award you must have been in college for four years, be a certified vet, and live in Tennessee. She has her own animal clinic and it’s very successful.
Veterans are heros because they risk their lives everyday. They leave their families for everyone in the U.S.A because they love us so much. Everyday people die in the army and other branches to save lives., because if they did’ not protect us then no one would. I wish everyone serving our country a big thank you
A benefit of being a veteran and the veteran families is health care benefits programs that provides coverage to the spouse or widow and to the dependent children of a qualifying sponsor. The veteran can have life insurance and have many special things. The most important thing is is that they should know that they are heros.Whether if they are disabled or not they put their lives on the line to protect our country. We should always be kind to the heros. You should always be kind to anyone no matter what. Thanks to the veterans we are safe and our country stands free.Any day especially Veterans Day,the best way we can honor veterans is to keep our nation’s promise to them like Abraham Lincoln said- “to care for him who shall have borne the battle
The last update closed with MoDo getting being invited to be a part of the Colorado Eagles Military Appreciation Night. She was on the concourse and posed for pictures with many fans. She also ate nearly most of the cookies the Eagles fans fed her. The night out was good for her spirit; she seemed to enjoy being the center of attention.
Why are veterans considered heroes? In my perspection any person who would be willing to stand and fight for our counrty is a heroe. They take chances we woulnt with their lives on the line.Veterans take risks and face danger and assigned dangerous diffrent tasks and operations. They go through training and horrible conditions while we relax at home.In the country their protecting for us so we may say what we want, believe in what we want live our own way of life .Yes we might have taxes or overly dramatic canadates or political respresentitives but what do they stand for? They all stand for us “We the people”. They protect the very foundation we sit upon, Our democratic stool of freedom. The horrid things that thrive in other countries are starved
