Through the many trips that my family has taken to the hospital due to various reasons, I have become fond of the hospital and its many wonders. After all the things that the medical field has done for me and my family, I decided to contribute to my local hospital to volunteer and help out those who pay visits to the hospital. Through my exposure to various clinical populations, I want to improve my ability to serve others in this capacity that can guide me towards the medical profession in the future.
In order to qualify for the program, the youth had to be between the ages of seventeen and twenty-three and a half years old, unemployed, and citizens of the U. S. They had to be over sixty inches and under seventy inches, and not less than one hundred and seven pounds. They also had to be single, pass a physical exam to ensure good health, and be able to produce a birth certificate or baptismal record revealing the occupant’s age, and sign up for a six month minimum service. They were at this time willing to donate $25 of their $30 per month towards their family. Applications in Houghton County could be picked up at the Laurium
Volunteering at Texas Health Presbyterian Plano is my way of giving back to the community while developing critical social skills, and gaining important medical field exposure along the way. It’s an opportunity to change a person’s life, including my own. I volunteered at two hospitals last summer and I’m well acquainted with what volunteering entails and would more than love to do it again. Through this hospital volunteer program, I hope to discover my own passions and talents, while also developing skills that I will utilize throughout my entire high school and college experience.
To volunteer at special events such as Health and Wellness fairs, festivals, parades and fundraisers:
National Bayside Hospital (NBH), a Level I Trauma Center and top-rated surgical hospital in Texas, established the need for an ethics committee early in our quest to become a designated trauma facility. Our ethics committee has been very instrumental in the decision making process as our reputation has grown as a receiving health care system, caring for complex and challenging cases from a five-county area.
Better patient outcomes, a decrease in employee turnover, increased scores from JACHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital Organizations) and improved financial stability. One can also reap the benefit of working in an environment filled with a compassionate staff (Chapman, 2010).
I was conversing with a few students of mine that I mentor during the summer months and I realized that I really need to be in the academic world. Several students retorted to me that “I need to be a School Counselor or a prominent figure in the school districts. That is when I had that epiphany and I’ve realized that I want to work with students of all ages. When I am interacting with students I am at my happiest. Therefore, I would like to pursue my Master Degree in Higher Education Administration.

June 5th 1990, I was given life in Torrance hospital to two great parents, Robert and Cindi Squillace. I have spent most of my life that I am able to remember in the high desert. Since an early age I spent a lot of time in the garage making random contraptions. To this day that is still the case. I like to see myself as a Jack of all trades, since I’m really not the best in a lot of areas. Never the less I enjoy many hobbies and I enjoy learning the ins and outs of them. I pride myself as a handyman, while I may not always have the answer I will always try to find it.
Throughout my short time working at Crouse Hospital on the Antepartum/Postpartum unit, I have witnessed pregnant and postpartum mothers struggling with substance abuse on a recurring basis. While working on this unit, I have had the opportunity to experience some of the best moments in the newborn 's life, such as parents holding their baby for the first time. On the other hand, I have witnessed the heart breaking reality of what the newborn experiences as a result of maternal substance abuse during pregnancy. Sine I started working at Crouse Hospital, there has been a significant increase of infants being born addicted to opioids and therefore having to endure opioid withdrawal. Sadly, many of these infants are born to mothers who have previously delivered an opioid addicted baby; making this a recurring issue. In Onondaga Country, of every 1,000 babies born, 26 babies have drug-related problems and there is an infant born every hour in the U.S. with a drug related issue (NAS, 2016). This being said, the goal of this research project is to provide education to all mothers on the negative consequences of heroin and other opioid use during pregnancy and how this negatively affects the neonate. The purpose of this research project is to present the realities and the struggles that these helpless infants go through as a result of opioid addiction, hoping to decrease the incidence of this highly prevalent issue. Therefore, an increased education needs to be given to
In a hospital setting, medical billers perform different functions than medical billers that work in a physician's office. Some of the medical coding is different, also different procedure coding. I want to work in the hospital setting because I believe I can be more help and it can be more challenging for

Each year between 210,000 and 440,000 patients go to the hospital for care suffers some type of preventable harm that contributes to their death (Allen). Knowing that so many patients go into a hospital and never leave due to mistakes made by a physician or nurse is extremely sickening. Physician and nurses have to sometimes slow down and double or even triple check information that have entered into patients chart or doses they are about to administer to an patient. I know it is hard sometimes to slow down because there are so many patients that needed to be attended to at any given moment. Hospitals now are becoming very crowded and sometimes the patients are in pain as well as inpatient. Nurses and physician are trying to do their best to ensure that they touch bases with

When I went to see S.E. he was laying down, after he got up to speak with me he did appear tired. Whenever we meet he quiet, says very few words at the beginning. As our session goes on he starts the open up more. As I begin to ask him questions it triggers his memory, he then tells me what going on in terms of his medical appointments, his meeting with his social worker Suki. Any other concerns he is having.
