You learn to understand what people are trying to express to you, whether that's verbal, physically, or mentally. Nursing is a career that is ever-changing and enlarging it is the field of knowledge.

My personal mission statement as a medical student at CMSRU is to be committed to demonstrate personal and academic integrity, be persistent, work collaboratively with other medical students, recognize diverse perspectives and to recognize my awareness to others’ needs and my desire and commitment to service the community.

Having to deal with difficult situations and people is a daily task in the nursing profession. As Crystal said, never let them know that you are affected (Noah). Hospitalization is not normally a shining moment in someone’s life, it is normally a low point. Because of this, having compassion for the people that you are serving on a daily basis is a key factor in being successful as a nurse, as well as being rewarded from the people that you are treating.
