John F. Kennedy was the 35th president. He was president during a rough time in America's history. He had fought for civil rights, he had to deal with the Cuban missile crisis, and had to go through some of the cold war before he was assassinated. John F. Kennedy made a positive impact on society by helping the civil rights movement, keeping the country at peace with Cuba, and if he hadn’t been assassinated our society would be better than it is now.
John F. Kennedy's biggest impact on society was with the civil rights movement. John F. Kennedy had to postpone the civil rights legislation. He had to postpone the civil rights movement because of how many southern conservative democrats were in the congressional legislation. Kennedy was shot while in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. He was on his way to a meeting with civics and other business leaders. John F. Kennedy was shot because of what he was doing for the civil rights movement.
The shooter Lee Harvey Oswald had shot the president because of his progress in the civil rights movement which was slowly defeating segregation. Lee harvey Oswald later assassinated by Jack Ruby while he was being transported from the Dallas county police station to the Dallas county prison.
