The books she wrote came as a threat to corporate companies that had profited out of using chemicals, such as DDT, but once given to the attention of the President came the changes she had longed for. Were it not for her, the policies set upon by the Government to protect our health and the environment would not be in place. We owe our gratitude to her determination and perseverance to her, for Rachel Carson did not have it easy.
