Soccer, the greatest game in the world with 3.5 billion fans (8), is very pleasurable to play and watch. However, there is more to the game than kicking a ball into a goal. Known as football to many around the world, soccer is an inexpensive and enjoyable sport that most third-world countries, as well as millions of Americans play. Soccer which was not always called soccer in an entertaining sport. “It evolved in a jail cell from a Chinese sport and now is called soccer” (2). There are many similar sports, including snookball. Out of the eleven players on the field, only the goalie can use his arms. A midfielder runs up to eight miles a game. The goalie run about one to two miles per game. During international games, a team only gets three subs, mainly for injuries, which means a player does not get many breaks.

The fans loved there team so much that they will kill other because of a silly call. “In 1989, 96 fans died during the semifinal FA (Football Association) Cup, because one team thought there should have been a foul, but there was no foul (3).”
What are cleats? Cleats are shoes with pegs on the bottom, so it is easy to change direction. The first cleats were work shoes that had studs hammered into the bottom of them. They broke very easily and needed to be fixed often. They were very cheaply made. Cleats today are very easy to put on and comfortable. In 1920 cleats were weak shoes that did not help too much and was still easy to slip. Cleats were very heavy when wet. They are a lot lighter than the first cleats. Cleats have come a long way over the years. Today they are not as heavy when wet, but they still do get heavy.
Shin guards, which protect your shins evolved a ton over the years. Leather buckles were how they stayed on. That pinched and hurt when kicked. Another type of shin guards were tied on by rope. A third type of shin guards stayed on by Velcro. That worked till the Velcro wore down. Now shin guards stay on with elastic sleeves that go around the
