Snap! The branch broke under my foot as my Dad and I were walking on the bank of the stream. It was a early summer morning and me and my Dad were checking out a stream to see if any fish lie in its depths. We did not bring our fishing poles because we did not know the stream existed. Luckily we had some kite string and some sharp size 4 silver hooks. So I decided to grab a long sturdy stick and tie the kite string to it to create a makeshift fishing pole. I tied the hook to the kite string and put a weight on it. But then we realized we had no bait! So my Dad ventured off into the dense forest in search of some bait that the fish might find tasty. He flipped over rocks, rolled over rocks and peeled back moss. He found five slimey worms, three squirmy salamanders, four sticky snails and two yellow grubs. Well now all that was left was to find out if my invention of a fishing pole worked and if there were any fish in the stream. I casted my line out into the middle of the stream while my Dad was checking out another area of the winding stream. Bam! All of a sudden a huge fish took my line and started furiously swimming down stream. I was so caught off guard when the fish jerked me forward I almost fell in the water. But I gained my balance …show more content…
While we were sitting we started noticing all the fascinating creatures and wildlife around us in the woods. We saw multiple white tailed deer, a raccoon, three red bellied woodpeckers and even a brown skinny otter. Everything around me was mesmerizing. To just stand still and look around you and see the deer eating, the fish jumping in the stream or the sound of the woodpeckers ferociously pecking away at the pine trees. The noises, smells, the sight that fill your eyes with color and life just lift your spirit when you stop to look what's around you. Nature can be so inspiring and beautiful if you take the time to just look
After having to purchase bait fish for many years, I decided to get a cast net and try to catch my own shad for bait fish. It was an interesting, awkward and frustrating challenge for a while. I got wet, slipped and nearly fell a good many times. Thinking this through thoroughly, and understood that through perseverance and labor I could catch my own shad with a cast net. However, I was unacquainted with what to have for proper equipment or how to throw the net or where to catch the shad.

Paddle fishing is a popular thing to do. Many people love to go paddlefish. Paddle seasons opens on early March and ends in the late Aprils. A Paddlefish is a type of sea creature that has a long pointy snout that looks like a paddle and a long body. The process of a paddlefish growing takes a very long time, it doesn't take 1 year, it takes about 7-8 years to be a full grown paddlefish to be legal to start snagging . The paddlefish is a lot different from any other fish. You can catch a regular fish like a bass with baits, but a paddlefish takes snagging which means using a large hook to snag them. Catching paddlefishes is not easy to do. Snagging a paddlefish requires quick reflexes because you have to know how to hook the hook on the
Beep, Beep, I reached over and hit my alarm clock until it shut off. It was only 6 o’clock in the morning and I was already getting up. I was going fishing with my Dad, Pepe and one of his friends, Harold. We were going to Milford lake which is about 45 minutes away. My dad told me that they never have any luck at all when they go fishing, and something bad always happens, and we were wishing that nothing would happen this time either.
Board fishing is a sport with a long and varied history. It is likely to have originated on the beaches of Southern California in the 60's, during the rise of surfing as a water sport. The surfers who were waiting for the next set of waves started taking notice of numerous fish swimming just under their boards; soon enough, a rod and a couple of lures were standard pieces of equipment for every surfer with a penchant for fishing. The main problem was that the surfing boards, while adequately long, weren't exactly designed for standing while not on a wave.
When the line hit the water, almost instantly my bobber had disappeared under the water. This was it, I lowered my pole as I reeled up the slack in my line. I kept thinking "Just catch this one and you'll feel better about all this." With a sudden jerk and some quick reels on the old rod the line went slack. I had missed the fish. What could of been the only bite of the day, I had messed up. Feeling quite ill after the miss, I reeled up my line and baited my hook and casted it back into the water.
There once was a young boy named Jayden and his father who lived in a small shed. They were very poor and had barely anything to eat, especially on cold frigid winter days. They owned a farm where they could supply their own food in the summer, however, in the winter all their crops died and they had to find another way to get food.
My sister and I have always been very adventurous and outdoors oriented. Surrounded by a large quantity of land, we had limitless opportunities to play games and have escapades. One of my favorite memories however, was making a secret clubhouse by a stream running along our yard. Although we did have a swingset and tons of toys, that was our prefered place to spend time.
We have done many things to try to insure that everything goes properly and that you can relax in the resort spot or you can commercial fish without really knowing that you’re not very far away from each other. Since we have tourism on the far left of the land, we put commercial fishing on the far right to insure that you don’t smell fish while you’re trying to relax. Since the shipping boats have to be at a certain depth, then when near the shore or in what would be a common swimming depth in the ocean you shouldn’t be able to see any passing cargo ships.
Destructive fishing is a very hostile fishing practice that destroys marine habitats and environments. These practices such as: bottom trawling, poisoning the waters, overfishing, dynamite fishing, and even ghost fishing, are killing off many populations of fish around the world and destroying vital breeding grounds for not only fish, but for other marine wildlife, disrupting the natural order. Fish are no longer able to survive in their natural habitats, therefore, not allowed to reproduce – driving many species into extinction. Corals are also affected in such a way that their growth is repressed. Because they cannot thrive, they die out, leaving sediment behind, so new corals are not able to settle. Due to a dramatic decline in the sustainability
There are many kinds of fishing: ice fishing, boat fishing, shore fishing, river fishing, deep sea fishing, etc. In Minnesota, known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes”, there are 11,842 lakes. I have always enjoyed being outdoors. When I met my husband, he took me fishing and I loved it. Fishing is very relaxing because being out on the calm water just casting the line out without any stress. Also, being around all the loons on the lake makes everything peaceful. Boat fishing is my favorite outdoor activity because of the great weather, accesses to all parts of lakes, and different kind of fish to catch.
These are the fundamental techniques and steps that impact the odds of having a successful fishing experience. There are many essential items one must have in order to go fishing. Using the right setting up techniques and learning how to cast your line out, is just as important as knowing what equipment to have. However, by far the most important key to having a successful fishing trip, is proper casting of the rod.
So the next day I went out to the woods again and started looking for arrows. I found a few good sticks and took them back to camp and started sharpening them. I put a little crease in the end of the arrow and then put in the quiver then I shot it and surprisingly it went pretty far probably a good 20 feet. So I took it out and started looking for food then I saw it a rabbit sitting right in front of me I put the arrow in the quiver and I shot it. I took it back to camp and I realized I had to skin it so I used my rock knife to skin it and I found another straight stick to stab the rabbit and then I cooked it over the fire. I was
