No matter how much you enjoy or do not enjoy reading and writing we all have a story how it has impacted out life. Literacy has a big impact on us all, if we didn’t have it we would be lost. We wouldn’t be able to text our friends and family to stay in touch. We wouldn’t have anything to do with social media. We would lose entertainment. Those are just the basics of why reading and writing has a big impact on our lives. Majority people have a deeper more meaningful experience with reading and/or writing. I personally have never been the best at writing because I have issues with grammar. I have never enjoyed reading because I am a very slow reader and have a hard time getting into books. But I too have a reason to love reading and writing. One reason I began to enjoy …show more content…
I am a very slow reader and always have been. In grade school, I would try and hide when doing the “popcorn” game for reading something out loud. Reading out loud was one of my biggest fears because at recess all the girls would bad talk the kids that took forever to read, and I did not want to be one they talked about. The only reason I have a hard time with writing is because I lack knowledge in proper grammar and spelling. I have always been known for the worst speller. Classmates of mine from grade school had jokes about how my texts were always a brain challenge trying to figure out what I was spelling! Talk about embarrassing. I don’t just struggle with grammar when writing, I get caught having bad grammar while talking as well. While I was on the dance team, the head coach was always correcting me. The big one I messed up the most was the use of “them” and “those” and so now I try to use them properly around everyone. I realize how uneducated I sound when I talk sometimes and that is why I am wanting to learn, that is why I want to be a teach, I want to help every student be successful no matter how good/bad their grades are in grade
Writing is taken for granted nowadays. Thus, people don't take in consideration how lucky they are to be able to read and write. I can still vividly remember how when I was very young I used to get extremely angry for not being able to read the newspaper that my grandfather used to carry around. For that reason, there is a lot of importance to reading and writing, and I'm glad that throughout this year I was able to grow as a writer.
When I start to write a draft, I usually freewrite. I use that technique, because it was easier to me than brainstorming or following an outline. In order for me to write, I generate ideas on a scrap paper. And draw ideas from that list, the more sub ideas that come from one idea, it’s most likely that I will write about that idea. When I try to write with an outline, I tend to get lower grades, because I do exactly as my teacher tells us to write the paper, but I don’t add any tricks to make my writing style better.
Throughout my high school career, I have had to write countless essays. My writing style has improved remarkably each year, as I am very skilled at conveying my ideas on paper using details and emotion, and I have a system of how I construct my writing. However, careless grammatical errors the extensive amount of time I spend writing hinder my improvement with my writing style. Writing in general comes easily to me, but only after I have actually figured out what I am going to write about; which is the tricky part.
For many people reading and writing are the most fundamental skills a person can learn, it can also greatly influence a persons cognitive thinking capacity and the sharing of information with others. However, in some parts of the world, people still do not have access to education or the ability to learn to read and write. Lacking the skill to read and write can make things tough for some one in todays society, however with the right resources and mentors to support, one can find a hidden passion for reading and writing. For me, reading and writing has never been one of my greatest skills, I had always struggled throughout my younger years of schooling to keep an interest. As of today, reading and writing has made a great impact on my life, especially in the last few years since I began college.
I am currently a sophomore at the University of Central Florida studying Communication Science and Disorders. I have taken many English courses where I have had to do many different types of writing as well as editing and proofreading.
Writing is the fundamental building block for all advances in any field. Cooking, math, technology and everyday life depend on writing. Without writing one would have to rely 100% on memory. Often times people take writing for granted. Any of life's luxuries wouldn’t exist because one person wouldn’t be able to communicate to the net and keep evolving ideas. Writing has affected the work in various ways, everyday life, entertainment and learning wouldn’t be the same without writing.
Writing and reading for me started really young with me. I was learning to read and write before I was 2. My mom was teaching me and I had a Phonex person come to my house and would help. I was a year younger than almost everybody else in my kindergarten class. I was able to go into school younger because I scored high enough on a test I had to take. I was always reading books when I could when I was young which is why I was able to read bigger words than most kids my age could. I was able to read at a 4th grade level when I was in 1st grade. This all fell in place because my dad was always telling me to read and write when I had free time if I wanted to be better than everybody. When I was younger I always trying to be better
I was born Sarah Jessica Taylor Caudill on a cold night in January, 15 years ago, at Baptist East. A bit funny, because I only go by Sarah when teachers force me to and I loathe Baptist East. I was named after an actress but I'm terrible at acting; I write. If writing didn't exist, I wouldn't either. If I couldn't make people feel things with words on a piece of paper, I wouldn't do anything at all. A world without words wouldn't be a world worth living in.
Reading and writing are subjects that when you look back on, you look back to when you were first taught. Whether it was in Kindergarten gathered around the teacher on the story time rug or in first grade when you were taught to write on that special lined paper. We have all mastered reading and writing in one way or another. You even learn to love one or the other, maybe both. For me, I absolutely love to read but I have a hatred for writing! Especially, when I must write stories, poems, school papers or anything of the kind, which is kind of ironic.
Writing to me has alwyas been that subject that i want to just get up and run away from. To me numbers have always and will always make more sense to me then the teqniuqe of writing a paper. My entire highschool career I despised writing as i said but reading this was very interesting to me. I never had someone show me the correct way to write especiialy in a satirical tone. That is what made this article fun and enjoyable to read. When he said not to ramble on he simply stated "i won't ramble on about that". He makes it very clear what the writer and reader is to expect when riding. One thing i learned about writing is that ever person on this planet has a way he or she writes. It may be similar but there is always something about you that
Reading and Writing Throughout my life reading and writing have impacted my life in many different ways. It has helped me express myself. Reading and writing have never been my strongest subjects; however, if I find a book that spikes my interest, I would never put it down. Those books are the ones that have impacted my life so much and how I think about life.
For me, this is the hard part. Starting out an essay that focuses on one topic, or something that I’m not particularly fond of. That’s one thing I really dislike about English, being limited on the topic, or being assigned a topic that you have to write specifically about. Writing is somewhat boring to me, and I don’t exactly know why, but starting it out feels almost impossible to me a lot of the time. Sometimes, writing is fun for me though. Once in a while when I write, I feel like I’m alone, everything drowns out, like smells and sounds. But when writing things, I prefer to try to challenge myself and continuously try to improve myself, the same with reading.
I ‘ve never really given it much though, but reading and writing have a huge impact on the world. During my childhood years, my mother read the same book to me every night. In fact, she has started to read the book once again. Writing, as well, has also influenced my life too. For example, when I was little, I kept a journal of everything that happened to me at school and at home. Furthermore, my reading and writing skills started to develop more, and I was able to find myself because of journal writing. Reading and writing have played critical roles in my success in school.
Many people read for fun but they are also learning while doing it. They are learning new words and expanding their vocabulary. Learning is a necessity in life and people learn the most by reading. Reading is an everyday activity and if an author writes something people expect to learn from it. It also makes the author learn. While writing the author is putting his skills to use. By doing that they are keeping their brain function high and they are getting relieving themselves from any medical issues that come with age and affect the brain. This being true that is an effect from writing you can learn from reading it and from writing
Reading and writing are two of the most important tools in my life, because without them I would not have an education. They form the basis of a class; for example, completing a lab in chemistry would not be possible without following a written lab procedure. These two skills are taught at such a young age, and as education advances students must continue to strive to reach a higher level. I can remember in elementary school, we were always pushed to reach the next reading level once we had successfully mastered the one we were on. It was always a competition for my sister and I to be at a higher level, I usually won. Even though I was excelling in reading it was the complete opposite for writing. It is something that has never come easy
