Some health care professional who are not committed to the care value base may treat service users unfairly. For example, a care worker that is not demonstrating the role of empathy may not want to listen or respect the ideals of the service users because the care worker is not in their position and do not see things from service users point of view. It is important for health care professionals to be committed and being honest with themselves in order to make sure that they are providing equal care to their service users. In this report I will be investigating how care services meet the needs of individuals by firstly analysing the needs of an individual using care services. Then I will go on to explain the roles of the care planning process in identifying needs, and explain the features of a positive care practise. After explaining that, I will analysis positive care environments and evaluate how they meet needs before finally explaining the role of legislation in promoting a positive care environment.

As a Health care worker I work in accordance with the Care Standard Act 2000, Codes of Practice and conduct, with the Legal and Organisational requirements, and procedures.

My responsibility as a care worker is to be aware of the various policies and legislations that will facilitate good practice when supporting my clients to access services and facilities. I am also expected to monitor and evaluate the service provided to ensure it is meeting the needs of the client.

There are also important responsibilities of workers in the health and social care sectors which underpin the support of individual service users to make sure that the individual rights are maintained.

It is very important to understand and acknowledge all policies and rules so that you can do your job correctly and professionally. If we didn’t following these codes of practice then the level of care would be poor and people wouldn’t understand or know what good quality of care is.

The Care Quality Commission makes sure that hospitals, care homes, dental and GP surgeries, and all other care services in England provide people with safe, effective, compassionate and high quality care, and they encourage these services to make improvements.

Also, the ways of working are set out in legislation and government papers. Every nursing home will have there own policy and procedures which you are able to read for guidance. Also caring and providing for people it is important we behave in a professional manner.

Legislation, policies and codes of practice provide clear guidelines as to the as to the rights and responsibilities of care workers and these should be adhered to at all times. Care workers duties are clearly laid out in documents al well as their contract

Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings

It involves in monitoring care and reviews from the service user in confidence to reduce the potential of harm. To enable that the care given to the individual in the right way the care worker should monitor the care given and keep other members of staff informed about any changes which will help minimise abuse in the care setting.
