Abstract
This paper explains the development in the human computer interaction by using the analytics technologies. The analytics technologies act as a decision support system for the further development in the human computer interaction. These analytical systems help us to identify the potential uses and help us to correct if any flaws are present in the existing ones. In this paper, we use dashboards for the analytical tools where these can be used in various domains like hospital, schools, industry and many places in the industry by the management and helps to drive towards decisions which can be used to improve their methods of interaction with the computing system. Based on these observations we identify the issues related to these two fields of the interesting research area.
Introduction
The HCI and Analytics is a vast scope subject with a lot of research going on as it is a new field of interest. This field involves a lot of data analytic technologies applied on top of the human computer interaction technologies. For the analytics to be performed efficiently we use concepts like data warehousing, mining and build our decision support systems and do analysis on the
In decentralized analytics approach, it deploys analytics experts into different business functions. Each unit creates and manages its own data which is interpreted by the analysts within the team. Each unit can localize, analyze and process the data in agile manner. It is
Health informatics is the bridging of computer science, information and the health care field. This interdisciplinary field can be applied to a range of medical fields such as nursing, biomedicine, medicine and subspecialties such as immunology (immunoinformatics). Informatics not only has roles to play in day-to-day areas of immunology such as data storage/retrieval, decision support, standards and electronic health care records but also in research and education such as data mining and simulation systems (Coiera, 2002). Informatics and more specifically, health informatics first started being used in in the late 1950s with the rise of computers (Ho, 2010). Technologies such as computers allowed practitioners and researches
Dashboard is a data visualization tool that displays the current status of metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for an enterprise. Also, dashboard consolidates and arranges numbers, metrics and sometimes performance scorecards on a single screen. They may be tailored for a specific role and display metrics targeted for a single point of view or department. The essential features of a dashboard product include a customizable interface and the ability to pull real-time data from multiple sources. An Executive Dashboard gives a clear picture of the data and the insights visually to the corporate executives.
Where possible the change will be performed on a test system. This may be a single production system that has been determined to be the least critical in the WRCU network. Where applicable, testing should be done in partnership with the users of the changed system. If a 3rd party vendor has extensively tested software changes, this will be considered testing for the purpose of this
The data analytic process is one in which a large amount of information is collected using software specifically geared towards collecting, identifying and storing information for use by the company. The information is gleaned from different forums, with social media being the most rich and useful. The information is then quickly sorted and organized for use by the collecting agency (Turban, Volonino, Wood, & Sipior, 2002, p. 6). The use of data analytics really took flight in 2010 when different companies offered software that enabled a company to implement their own data analytics. This led to better marketing campaigns, improved customer relations and it gave companies using the software a bigger advantage over their competitors (Savitz, 2012).
An informatics needs assessment is a critical step in the selection and implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The purpose of a needs assessment is to understand the organization and the needs of the organization well enough to boost the positive impact of an EHR while minimizing the negative effects (American Medical Association, n.d.).
This is one of the greatest challenge that is acting as a key barrier in widespread adoption and pervasive use of the tools fostering for development and progress in this field of study. The real time of the big data analytics would require some of the unique features and special computing powers and potentials (Gantz, 2012). Tools have to made specially advanced so as to incorporate process terms in real time (Chen, 2012). Every business oriented organization should be transformed into information centric (Kaisler, 2013) to focus upon the real time data analysis in terms of both input and output.
In today’s companies, the analytics software plays the important role and guides the future activities to a great extent.
This study also made a comparative analysis of the use of different functionalities offered by a dashboard in three functional areas of the organization. Different departments in an organization use dashboards differently to serve their unique
The uses of executive dashboards have become widespread in most organization [9]. Not because of its visual representation but they assist the organization communicate, strategize, monitor and correct the execution of the strategy to deliver actionable insights to all [1]. A dashboard is an essential tool for monitoring or summarizing the high level information about the daily health status of an organization [1][4]. From a single interface, the top executives can retrieve key performance indicators (KPIs), actionable insight that can be used to actively guide business performance [4].
When a person gets behind the wheel of a car, they are presented with a dashboard. The dashboard provides the driver with important information, such as the level of gas in the tank, the current speed, engine temperature and more. The information presented provides the driver with actionable insights. For example, if the gas gauge indicates the car is running low on fuel, the actionable response would be to find the nearest gas station and refill the tank. Similarly, web applications use dashboards to depict high level views of data metrics, which provide useful information and leads to actionable business intelligence.
The impact of computer technology in the workplace has been enormous within the past decade, both positive and negative. Distant communication through the use of computers and mobile devices have overhauled the office setting completely. Email, social networking sites and the world of the Internet have opened a whole new avenue of communication. Technology has changed the entire workplace environment, the relationships, and how things get done.
An Enterprise-Level Approach to and Management of Analytics is an area that Nexteer needs to
Management information systems is an integrated computer based application used to access useful, timely and accurate information to allow the user to make appropriate decisions, and to manage information effectively and efficiently. The amount of data collected is increasingly larger every day when it comes to management information systems. For employees the information includes such things as name, address, gender, social security number, work habits, likes and dislikes. For the customer, data collected include name, address, gender, credit card number, likes and dislikes. The question is how do we handle
Computer technology has flooded our lives and households daily. From cell phones, instant/text messages, emails, to hybrid cars, and security systems that provide alerts and live video feed of our residences, which can be sent directly to our mobile devices or computer. Our society has become more and more dependent with the amenities of the every changing and improving world of computer technology. While there certainly many conveniences of technology, including saving time, making tasks easier, and potentially saving money. It is also concerning that we may be over-reliant and put an excessive amount of trust in computer technology, therefore allowing it to take command over our decisions and our lives, essentially becoming our god if we are not careful. Like with most things that can have the potential to take control over our thoughts and actions in an obsessive manner, we must learn to limit and set healthy boundaries with computer technology and the myriad of different distracting devices.
