p. 41). There is a direct correlation between the performance evaluation and compensation. Employees are compensated based on their level of performance.
The final function of HRM is the maintenance function. This function involves retaining productive employees. The retention of quality employees is essential for an organization’s success. According to DeCenzo and Robbins (2007, p. 41). “HRM must ensure a safe and healthy working environment; caring for employees’ well being has a major effect on their commitment”. Providing employees with work/life programs such employee assistance programs helps the employee deal with stressful situations in their personal lives which will in turn benefit the organization as well. Communication is a key element in developing employee job loyalty and commitment. Communication programs keep employees informed and also provide an avenue for employees to voice opinions and concerns. HRM’s efforts in this function will help the company reach its goal of retaining the best qualified productive employees with the most up-to-date knowledge, skills, abilities, and commitment to the organization.

As we all know when it comes to every business and organization that is out there, they all need help from Human Resources to continue to help the company grow. What is human resource management? Well Human Resource Management is the overall process that deals with how Human Resources manages their employees as well as different issues that can come across within the organization. Human Resource Management are in charge of different tasks including recruiting as well as interviewing and letting people go as well. Other tasks that are done on a daily basis would also be focusing on maintaining records of each employee that’s working for the organization as well as dealing with different regulations that deals with employment laws that are needed to be followed. One thing that I came to an understanding is that when it comes to Human Resource Management, this position isn’t only being performed by the employees that work for the Human Resources department but they are also being managed by their managers as well as their supervisors that work for the Human Resources department. Just like any other job out there that requires team leads, HRM managers as well as their supervisors have a task which are responsible for providing the daily support that may be needed with their employees. Human Resources also provides different guidelines that are put into the workplace that each manager as well as the employees need to follow while being at work.
As a renowned human resource specialist, I offer subject matter expertise on specific tactics that will restore confidence within the public in its entirety the prevention of another mishap, such as the Veterans Affairs scandal. To recap the issue at hand, it has been discovered that some VA hospitals and clinics across the United States “that a culture of retaliation exists within the Department of Veteran Affairs, which discourages employees from airing concerns about patient care (i.e. poor care, long wait time which possibly led to some deaths of these patients), and discredit them when they came forward-falsified records became public” . It is palpable that the Department of Veteran Affairs or any government agency that is experiencing similar irrationalities is in need of revamping the essentiality of human resource management. Before I reveal my suggestions in promising the public restoration of human resource management, I will like to reiterate the significance of the subject matter.

As a child, I have always had this wild imagination of being able to become anything I set my mind too. A Film Director, Surgeon, Professional Soccer Player, and even a Chef. In the process of deciding what I wanted to come to school for I contemplated on what type of career I wanted to focus on. The constant question of what area to go into was always coming up. After many talks and research with my family, I decided to go into human resource management, specifically in a hospital. Many people questioned and often said “Why human resource management?” My answer, I chose human resource managers because I believe they are a vital part of a hospitals success. They make the plans, they direct the staff and they coordinate how people work
If you were to ask any human resources professional what their responsible functions were you would receive many different responses based on their department. “No two human resources departments have precisely the same roles because of differences in organization sizes and characteristics of the workforce, the industry, and management values.” (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhard, Wright, 2016). Even though the roles in the departments are different, the functions that human resources are supportive of remain the same. Those functions are: human resources planning, employee relations, training and development, recruitment and selection, performance management and employment compensation. (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhard, Wright, 2016). Each of these functions plays an important part of employee satisfaction, which is an issue many human resource executives work on throughout their day.
