Eh, there ain’t much to say when it comes to the likes of me. Name’s Todd Rexroth II, 19, and I’m the eldest of 9. I graduated from SciTech High and soon after came to HACC. I’m here at HACC to find out what I want to do with my life. So with that out of the way, let’s begin.
To begin, I’ll talk about a bit of my experience at HACC. The only writing class I’ve had prior to this is English 051, in which I earned a C. Not necessarily for my skill of writing, but for not following all the steps of the writing process. Fortunately, this is only my second semester so I can mask that grade by getting better ones. Along the way I hope to finally find a major I want to pursue and stop doing general studies. Which is part of the reason I decided to take Humanities 101 to see

I don’t really have a specific genre of music I listen to and instead just listen to whatever sounds good hittin’ my ears. My music recommendation gotta be an artist that went by Nujabes. He specializes in making beats, but sometimes teams up with other artists making some absolutely mint tunes. I, of course, do have pictures of myself at home. Though, they’re not the most recent. As for hobbies I’m into gaming, PC building, and, when I have the time, reading. When I can afford the money and time I plan on expanding this list.
Finally, I want to end with what my ultimate goal is when I find a career. Well, first I want to find a career I’m content with doing. I don’t need to love it, but something I won’t blow my brains out for down the line. After I choose the career and find a job, I’ll make sure I budget my money wisely as to better my chances of living relatively comfortable. Then, finally, do what I love as a hobby. At least, that’s the initial plan so far.
In the end, I’m a simple guy just trying to find a career I can stomach for 40+ years. I do hope this introduction was as riveting to read as it was to write. Thanks for
At first I was not sure what I should put, but then when I starting thinking about it, it came pretty easily. However I did have a difficult time thinking about what I can’t change because I try not to focus on that.

English class has never been my strong suite. I always had to work twice as hard in English then I did in any other class. Writing paper always had me stressed and overwhelmed, I felt discouraged in my work. l never seemed to be able to get to the level I wanted to. I would try my hardest and paid attention in class, but when it came to writing the paper none of that seemed to help. I think that my experience in English Composition 1 has helped gain and grow in some areas, but I don’t think that it highlights a well-written college essay. Some elements that I worked to improving was introduction paragraphs, tone, style, and thesis statements.
As a new immigrant, I took the accuplacer test and went straight to 111 English level. So, English 111 course became my first college English class. It seems like a great achievement for a French speaker. Nonetheless, this performance linked to significant challenges. Even though I am a fighter and an optimist, I was frightened about my academic achievement for this semester. The problems became bigger when I took my first practice test on sentence structure (fragments and run-ons) and got a D. I was frightened and felt that I will have to drop the class. However, I decided not to give up. I started working hard and had a V+ on the next test. This positive grade energized me until now. During this semester, I have much homework and practices which allow me to identify some strengths, weaknesses, and gave me lots of skills for my English 112 class and the future.
This unit does not introduce much new material. Instead, we expect you to integrate technical and theoretical knowledge acquired from study across your degree. We refer to two frameworks that may support you in carrying out this integration:
Reflecting on this course over this semester, there have been many lessons learned that will be valuable, as we enter the business world. Our first lesson was to learn to work together, as a team, to prepare a short memo, long memo, letter, and email for use in the business world. This is a lesson that will experience many times as we do our daily work. Punctuation and grammar are so important to present to the client and other organizations that we are professionals. It could mean the loss of a sale or acquiring new business. It’s like dressing for work; looking professional or unprofessional.
Throughout English 1010 thus far, I can certainly say that my writing skills have been tested and tried. Writing for fun and composing rhetorical essays for a college-level English class are vastly different styles and require contrasting attitudes, voices, and points of view for each. Before writing essays of the former diction, I must admit that I did not understand the rhetorical strategies and had no idea there even was a rhetorical triangle. The assignments included in this portfolio show the advancements I have made in my writing with an academic tone.

The dreaded English 102. Could this be my final English course in my career as a student? I don’t know for sure. I still need to decide what my major will be in. There is something that I know for sure, that is, needing to take this class to move on. I am not certain how my time in this class will go, but I plan to work hard to get the best grade that I can. Hence, I have decided to get this out of the way now, I look to fine-tune my writing skills, and I expect this course to help me understand my writing style.

Since beginning to write papers in English class, I have had countless successes and failures. While many of my English classes have taught me how to improve my writing, I have not learned very much in others. My most recent English class was last year, my sophomore year. My class was particularly undersized; therefore, it gave each student the opportunity to have additional individual attention. Throughout the class I experienced high points, weaknesses, and even difficulties that I never overcame. Overall, my writing skills improved, but only marginally.
My Career Plan The future is uncertain for me, but it is important to develop a career plan that will provide financial support and personal fulfillment over the course of my professional life. In the next paragraphs, I will explain my ten-year plan for my
