I am equipped with professional qualities, and can work collaboratively with other professionals, I have astute attention to details and I possess great communication qualities in my current workplace and as a student. I have passionate curiosity and ambition towards the ever-changing Surgical Technologies, with a passion to improve the quality of the human life. These are what I feel are the personal qualities I have that makes me a successful student the Surgical Technology program. I am currently in my second to last semester in the surgical technology program and have had a great experience learning in the operating rooms during my clinical times. I deserve this scholarship because through my education I have discovered who I am. Years pushing myself to achieve perfection on assessments have proven my ambition. I’m driven to succeed in every aspect of my life. For example, I’ve maintained a weighted average above 100 for all of middle school and high school as of now. Additionally, I scored 100% on the NYS Living Environment Regents Exam. Although I’m a girl with drive and determination, I’m also compassionate. I adore animals, and cannot stand by as humans decimate their natural habitats and animal population numbers plummet. I learned much about the worsening conditions of our natural environments in my Earth Science class this year and I’ve become an avid proponent of animal population

I strive to make a difference and I am always trying to learn new things. I knew Aimee personally and I know that she was a woman that did everything in her power to promote equine education. I have learned an immense amount of information about horses since joining WIHA, and I want to make sure that I pass that information on. If I were to get the scholarship, I would use it to learn even more and pass my learning on to others. I am very involved as a student and as a member in the equine industry. I am applying for the HNC animal care course at SRUC Oatridge Campus. I have always been interested in animals, they have always been my passion and that's why this course is right for me.

I am applying for this scholarship to help pursue my goal of earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences so that I may further my education with a Master’s of Physician’s Assistant Program. Ever since I was a small child, animals have always sparked a special light within me. It my dream to become a veterinarian so I can be the light for animals. I know the road to becoming a veterinarian is a very long one, but I would love to start with pre-veterinary studies at UVA Wise. I believe I am a great candidate for this scholarship because of my qualifications. I am a people person who puts others first. My passion is helping people, especially those who are vulnerable and in need. Therefore, I chose nursing as a career because it coincides with my passion. In the past few years I have gained strong communication skills that have helped me become a better person. I am always advocating for my patients and making sure that their needs and wants are priority over all things. As a young child I always had a love for animals. My family has always had pets and I’m sure that is where my love started. I had wanted to work at our local veterinary clinic when I was twelve or thirteen. Unfortunately, I could not work there until I was fifteen years old. As soon as I had turned fifteen, I was interviewing for and starting the job. I have worked there since, and it has been almost three years of working there. It is rare to find a teenager who sticks with one job during their high school career. I have enjoyed the job and the things I have learned at the clinic, which is why I have stuck with the job. Although my favorite class in high school is English, I have tried my best to maintain equal focus on all five of my academic subjects, for the sake of keeping my options open and my interests varied. When contemplating what to study in college, I take a similar approach. I wish to follow my passion and pursue a major in English; however, I also have interests in business and government.
