Goals, for some people it can be being under the Friday Night lights, or being on the court, shooting the winning basket for your team. Regardless of what your goal is, it usually takes a lot of time, hard-work and effort to get there. It requires a lot of falling down in order to get better and come back up that much stronger. For some, it comes easy, their talent or skill is inept or they are a natural at whatever it is that they are doing. For others, their skill is challenging for them, or they have to work at is constantly to maintain or better themselves in the skill. Each fall kids from the nine different districts audition for a spot in the district band, choir, orchestra, or jazz band. Then, the best kids from those auditions move on to advance to the district festivals. At these festivals kids have the opportunity to play with some of the best musicians from their area. From there, the best kids in the state get to advance to the state level, where they combine all of the districts to create the ILMEA All-State divisions of the district groups. This year was the first year that All-State, which has always been open to just Juniors and Seniors, opened the application process to Sophomores. They made this announcement at the district festivals last year. And it is there, at the 2015 District Five band festival where my story
I would define success as achieving a goal that you set out for. The three most important things on John Wooden's Pyramid of Success are Confidence, Condition and Fight. These create success in many ways. If you have confidence to win you will always win or come very close. If your team is in condition you will be able to outwork the other team and be success. And if you willing to fight to win then you will be successful in every accept of life. I thought these were important because of how the sports I play I use all of these to be successful in these and in life in general.
Some people believe that dedication, persistence, and time people can accomplish any goal. Everyone should have goals when striving to achieve a specific task. Goal setting is used by top level athletes, successful business man, and achievers in all fields. A wise athlete once said, “Without time and effort put towards ones goal for the sport, you are nearly wasting your time and your teams time and you will never achieve ones goal for that
If you do not set goals or achievements for yourself then, you will not be successful in life. One major goal that I set for myself is to be elected at the ROTC program at Colts Neck High School. Unfortunately, it will not be an easy goals to achieve. It is going to a long bumpy ride until I reach my destination. However, if I study hard, complete all of my school assignments, and get antoshining grades then, I can find a shortcut to make this ride shorter and maybe even smoother after all. Also, participation is one of the main keys to achieving this goal. I make sure that I participate in class and in after school activities such as track and field and basketball because then my teachers and my coach could recommend me. This single goal persily will overall make me smarter and a hardworking student by the end of the year.
Everyone has aspirations, some tend to be more steadfast, others last only a short amount of time. A goal is something we aim for, something that we try our best to keep a firm grip on.
Goals are achieved in different ways by different people. Goals can be joining a sport, making new friends, or even as simple as becoming organized. However in order to achieve your goals, you must have an ability. My abilities of being respectful and calm, will help me to have more honor classes, graduate with a 4.0 or higher, go to college and become a pediatrician. Before I become a pediatrician I will need to use my abilities to do so.
I remember the first time I set a goal, I was watching a college football game. Texas A&M’s quarterback Johnny Manziel was running down the sideline and the crowd was going crazy. In an upset fashion Texas A&M beat Alabama 29-24. That’s when I realized I wanted to play college football. I think with time, dedication, and persistence achieving any goal is possible.
As one well knows, it is easy to make goals, but it takes a greater determination and effort to reach them.
When I set goals, I am determined to accomplish them to their best potential. I have been a part of the Varsity soccer team all four years. Making the team as a freshman had been a goal of mine since middle school. However, goals like this are not accomplished without hard work. I practiced a lot the summer leading up to freshmen tryouts, and I earned a spot on the team. I had reached my goal; however, I was not going to stop there. Throughout the next years my goal has been to become a better player. The work I put in sophomore and junior year is how I deserved the title of captain my senior year.
Do you have goals? A goal is something that you aim to accomplish within a period of time. Setting goals for yourself keeps you focused on the things most important to you. My two goals include having a successful career in softball and staying on top of my school work so that I can continue playing the sport I love. Having these two goals will help me stay on track in life focusing on working hard to get good grades, and putting in extra practice so I can excel in softball.
It was a goal of mine to make my parents proud by excelling in school because neither of them attended high school. It was a goal of mine to be the first person in my family to graduate high school and attend college. It was a goal of mine to show my classmates the power of perseverance and how a person can overcome challenges.
One example of achieving something is in sports. Sports are meant to be pleasurable but they can also be very competitive. In some sports, you can win games, tournaments, and even championships. You can win all the trophies in the world but the best part of it all is doing it together.
Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.
Diana S. Hunt said, “Goals are dreams with deadlines”. Dreaming about your future and then you try to make it happen within limited time, we call this goal. When I was
To attain what I want in life I have to stay focused, be consistent, and nevertheless to never give up. Having goals and wanting to better myself they all tie into this as well. It was not until I starting playing football that I realized to make it all the way to the NFL that I could not give up at all.
Every competitive athlete wants to win first place and in order for that goal to be met, he or she has to set that goal and make guidelines in order to obtain the prize. This may require hours and even years of practice to become the best athlete possible. Bonnie Blair, 1988 Olympic speed skater says, “Having that ultimate goal and knowing those steps are what you’ve got to take in order to get to that ultimate goal makes it easier to comprehend” (Mertzman, 300). It’s like child in school. If you wind up doing your homework, you are hopefully going to be able to get those good grades. For Blair, if she did those workouts and spent the countless hours on the ice, she would hopefully get the results that she wanted. Goal setting pertains to any athlete and any person in life who wants to achieve an ultimate goal.
