History of IKEA: IKEA (Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd) is a privately held, international home products company that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, appliances and home accessories. Familiarity: IKEA is a company which has origin from Sweden. Sweden is a Scandivian country, we don’t have so much (may be none) common things as two countries, but they know that if they want to sell their products and being well-known they should not think localy. So they do the same and they think globally. Because today’s world we live in our homes and almost everybody needs same things for their homes. Some of them are our basic needs and some of them are according to our tastes and preferences, but stil everbody buys something because we live in world that based on consumption. Image and Personality: IKEA has a strong brand image on people’s mind. Also it is too important that a brand has a personality, because the personality of a brand describes it in every sense. A brand has an image that reliable so people never doubt about it when they are buying something. Associations: Here is the association network of IKEA: [pic] POP and POD: As a Point of Parity, they produce furniture and sell them like other brands. However as a Point of Difference, IKEA makes this difference with their self assembly products. They have self-assembly products and it is different than other companies.
