Picture this, there has been a school lockdown, the suspect cut the landlines so no one could call the police for a rescue. However, the suspect was captured by the police much faster than he imagined. The last scene wouldn’t have happened if it was one decade ago, because cell phones were not popular in schools then. When it comes to cell phones, some people think they should not be permitted in schools, and other people think they should be permitted in schools. I agree with the latter opinion for the following reasons: Cell phones are an efficient way to communicate when emergencies occur in school; cell phones can be a great tool for learning during school hours; and the current prohibitive rules on cell phones are merely fruitless

Ever seen a seven-year-old with a phone in a store and had a distinct feeling of wrong? That’s the exact feeling a lot of adults feel when they see younger children staring blankly at screens instead of outside playing the sun. Younger children are spending more time in front of a screen then reading a book or playing with other children. This occurrence is not healthy for anyone especially children under the age of 12 whose brain is nowhere near developed. By allowing younger generations to own cell phone so early we are allowing them to personal and emotional connections to a device, be open to offenders that will hurt or give children bad impressions, and creating a huge impact on their life later on both educationally and socially.

When cellphones first started, they were mostly used to communicate with one another easily, but as they’ve come along we’ve built a sort of dependence on them, ignoring their risks and using them whenever convenient. I believe that, while cellphones have their uses, their dangers to our health should be noticed and our dependence with cellphones should be limited.
