Dog parks should be built in cities! Lets take a second to think about this... If there are no dog parks in cities they are either trapped in the house and/or connected to a leash. In the city it is all streets and cars and there is nowhere to play with your dog legally. I look at my dog as part of the family and hate putting her on a leash because it can choke them if they try runnning and like "A Dog Park Benefits All" states, "Exercise is important to dogs' mental and physical health.". Dogs love to get exercise and run around, mine does laps around my house. There are so many dogs out there that are either abused, stray, or locked up all day long. If dog parks were built they would be able to run around and play, yeah …show more content…
If that were to happen a couple times the state can take your dog or put them down. If you take your dog to the dog park they can bark and run all they want and hey, dogs do get along too. By the time you leave the dog park, your dog will be tired and won't even want to bark unless they have a reason to, and the more you bring your dog around others the more friendly it will be with other dogs. Wouldn't you want your dog to be able to run around legally without having a chance of it getting hit by a car like the post says..? "It would also prevent pet owners from illegally letting their dogs loose to exercise in empty lots and city parks. In a city, dogs running free can injure people or get hit by cars." Sometimes I take my dog to the dog park and I dont even live in the city I have a big backyard but I just like seeing my dog happy and every other dog owner should too... Every dog can be trained no matter what anyone says. All it takes is a good owner and for the dog to be trained properly. Every dog I ever had listened to me right away and does what I want them to do cause I treat my dog like part of the family. Locking them in a cage or putting them on a leash and not letting them run around and play is not treating them like the family it's treating them like a slave... Dogs have hearts and feelings
Families that use off-leash dog parks are able to thoroughly help and develop their dogs for a better life. Off-leash dog parks allow both pets and owners to learn and grow through exercising and socializing without constant worry of infringing someone else rights. It benefits dogs as they are given adequate space to run and use as an outlet meanwhile, recognizing certain behaviors of more respectable and mature pets through socializing. Properly exercising dogs allow them to relieve tension and unbend; this potentially changes them from being noisy and irritable into more quite and friendlier animals. There have been numerous accounts within my neighborhood where the local residents have filed noise complaints on local dog owners. In the recent study, “On the Fence: Dog Parks in the (Un)Leashing of Community and Social Capital,” authors Taryn Graham and Troy Glover of the
I think dog parks are a good idea. Dogs need alot of exercise and play time. Many cites and urban areas just dont have the room for that to happen. But there are optoins there many open unused lots, and empty building that could be torn down to create these places. I am a dog owner myself i live in the country were open space is abundant. My dog Neno can run a play all he wants it's good for his health and mental state. When he doesn't get out he gets cranky and chews thing around the house. I grew up in a city of five millon, so i know how hepful a dog park can be to dog owners. You should always have your dog around other people, and animals,
According to one article '' That 37% of americans who own dogs often look for a dog park when choosing for a place to live''. With dog parks everyone would benefit. Without a place to take dogs they may never socialize much and can become aggresive.Though a good point can be made that dog parks can be loud at times. I still believe that dog parks are needed.
Before you jump to the hasty conclusion that I’m opposed to a dog park because I do not have a dog, let me assure you I do have a dog and am aware of my responsibilities as an owner. The principal argument for a dog park is “exercise is important to dogs’ mental and physical health.” I would take this argument a step further and state exercise is also
To many complications will come from a dog park. Such as situations like a dog attacking another dog or even attacking someone else. This can cause a lot of upset owners. Also many painful court cases. Dog parks will bring up a lot of legal issues that we don't need.
Dogs should have their own parks, because when dogs aren't getting the physical and mental excercise that they need, their behavior tend to get worse. ASPCA has a study that shows the rate of dogs biting humans went down drastically in places where they're dog parks. ASPCA also believes that if dogs had a park then their would be less incidents of dogs attacking humans, barking, and destroying things. Many dog owners have given their dogs up , because they started to act like''bad dogs'', this is because they don't have a dog park to excercise all their energy everyday. Dogs need a park just like humans.
Proper exercise would help maintain a dog's emotional stability - an emotionally stable dog is one that doesn't destroy property or harm innocent passer-by. This is supported when the author states, "According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), dogs that don't get exercise can act out by barking and destroying things at home. Socializing is important to. If a dog doesn't learn to get along with other dogs, it may attack a strange dog or a person." However, an important point is mentioned in, "No Dog Park for Muscatine" - dogs will still be capable of biting another dog or person, and this added risk could mean that an attack would lead to a lawsuit, both involving the owner of the dog, and the city, as it would be on public ground. This risk, however, is and will always be prevelant when a dog is able to interact with another person or animal - and, as stated within "A Dog Park Benefits All", "When New York City started allowing dogs off-leash in dog parks, dog-bite reports went from 40,000 to fewer than 4,000 per year". This evidence shows that a dog park will decrease the risk of a dog-related attack, not increase it. For this reason, concerns relating to the health of the dog can be answered with building a public dog
I believe that we as a state should we deside if that's a good idea or not. I think this way becuase there are many perspectives that you have to take in. You have to know how many people are in you town. You also have to know if you have enough space for a dog park.
I believe most if not all cities should have a public dog park. Since I was nine years old I have always owned a dog. I have lived the city all of my life as well. Living in the city there is many apartment buildings with little to no yard space. To keep a healthy and friendly dog the dog needs exercise and play dates. Because most pet owners in the city have no yard space for these activities. a public dog park is the perfect solution.
Safer conditions for everyone. It is important we keep pets healthy both physically and mentally, a dog park can do both. Dogs need exercise to stay healthy, in the area 68% of residents live in rental units an a quarter of those are apartments, can you imagine living your whole life in a small apartment only going out once or twice a day? Yet we expect our dogs to live like that. When animals do not get the proper exercise it can cause a starin on them mentaly resuluting in behavioral issues including barking and bitting acordigng to the ASPCA, this can put people at risk even young children. A reports states that dog-bites went down 36,000 per year in new york after allowing off-leash parks, That was potintaily 36,000 law suits right there that are elimantaed just by alowing dogs to get proper exercise. Exercise also reduces barking making it a more peasent
I fully support the idea of building a dog park. As many cities have leash laws which keep the dogs from getting the excersize and socialization they need. When a dog does not get the space and socialization it needs, its behavior can waver. Dogs can become agressive as stated in the passage, "A Dog Park Benefits All". Therefore getting a dog park would keep dog related injuries on the lower end of the spectrum.
The report against the dog park being built seems to neglect the thought that a person can still sue someone if their animal attacks someone. He states, "Mostly, cities rely on people respecting the parks' rules, even though the rules are often not heeded. This means that if a dog attacks another dog or person in a dog park, the
The need Muscatine, Iowa has for a dog park is a difficult topic. Dog owners have lamented over the fact that there is no safe and legal area for them to allow their dogs to exercise in. In oppistion non-dog owners feel that the construction of a dog park would hamper their ability to peacefully live their life. Whilst there are difficulties to building a dog park for the community, I believe the pros out weigh the cons.
Dog parks in the city would help dogs get daily excercise and it would help them get in shape and it would also help to calm them down beacuse it is proven that dogs that get daiy ecercise tends to be more playful, less noisy, and isin't mean. but the cost of building a dog park would cost up to 70,000$ just for the fence thats not including a building permit and all the work. Most dogs would benifit from having a local dog park but the federal cost of funding a dog park would be outrageous even though it was proven dogs that get daily excercise tends to be more happy and less viceous. There was approximitly 40,000 dog bites a year from New York after they received a dog park the number dirasticly dropped to 4,000 a year. Accordin to the ASPCA
Would you rather have a dog park, or be the victim of a dog-bite? I would perfer to have a dog park for safety. Some dogs have a temper like us adults and can act up at times. Because it's our city ordinance for dogs to be off-leash in public areas, a park is needed. Personally I believe that, exercise is important to dogs because of it's mental and physical health, socializing, and bad behavior caused by dogs.To begin with, exercise is important to dogs because dogs can act out by barking and destroying things at home. If a dog isn't getting enough exercise it can become very cruel. A dog can obtain mental and physical health problems. With that being said our neighborhood need a dog park.
