1 Elective for Texas House of Representative
I live in 3113 W. Walnut Hill Ln, Irving 75038. Irving lies in district no. 115 in the house of representative. Irving is a city within the Dallas County. After looking at the map of district number 115, we can say that it is gerrymandered. 2 The present representative from this district is Matt Rinaldi for Texas State house (Who represents me?). Matt Rinaldi is a legislature and attorney from Irving representing the republican party. The total population of people living in this district is 180798, among which 66.4 % of people are within the age group of 18-64, 25% of people are below the age of 18 and only 8% of people

Based on my responses, this quiz placed me into the next generation left which includes people with liberal values. As a person has different political views towards different things, my views are also scattered between democrats and republicans in different prospects. I stand as a democrat while taking the views related to criminal justice and immigration where they are more liberal. In some cases, like the issue of gun control, I am in support of republicans as they strongly oppose the use of guns and hand arms to control the crime.
The state house of Texas requires a person to be a U.S. citizen, 21 old or over, 2 years resident of Texas and 1year resident prior to the elections. Watching over the past, the current representative for state house Matt Rinaldi is a republican. In 2012, the district was represented by Bennett Ratliff who was also a republican. Matt Rinaldi is proving his strong presence by winning the seat for two times in the election of 2014 and 2016. This shows that the republicans have very strong voter population in this district. Running for the House, I believe that my ideologies regarding the political values are more democrats which would make it harder to win in this district. However, looking to the general election of 2012, President Obama who was a democrat received more votes from this district. This shows that the voters of this district have a mixed kind of political
1 They have different platform of political parties as Democratic party and Republic party. 2 Texas Senate is the upper house of Texas state legislature whereas Texas house is the lower house of Texas state legislature. Texas State consists of 31 members and 150 members in Texas house of representatives. I am currently living in Irving, in which the district is 16 as senate districts where Don Huffines is the current senator of the district which is a part of Dallas county. 3 He is from Republican party. 1 So, I would prefer to run as Texas state senate. 4 In
Evidently, The Texas House of Representatives is located in the lower house of the bicameral Texas Legislature. The Texas House of representatives contains a total of 150 members who are categorically elected from a single-member district in order to serve
Looking at the election results derived from Texas in the past, it can be said that the Republicans have had the upper hand over the Democratic Party in this state for quite some time, but the cities tend to be very liberal. There are currently only 12 Democratic representatives and 24 Republican representatives to U.S. House of Representatives. (Govtrack.us). Since 1846, in the state of Texas, there have been 39 Democratic
Texas remains a large state with masses of diversity in addition. Despite all the Texas greatness and large land there remains one issue that stays still not immense in, which is voting. Surprisingly, only twenty-two percent of Texans vote. Furthermore, Texas is positioned second to last with the lowest voting rate. There exist plenty of reasons Texas has such a minimal voter turnout rate. One reason mentioned in the Texas Civil Health Index “transpires Texas demographic” (Texas 20). In addition, another reason befalls that people actually believe that their vote doesn’t matter. Finally, a third reason stands that people ensue uneducated. Voting will transform our lives, if citizens just speak up everything will be just the way Texans want it. Texans need to benefit of their freedom and not let only segment of the state control our appeals and needs. It is essential to vote; that will be the only way our voice could be heard; it
For Texas, the representative is Jimmie Don Aycock. Representative Aycock if from Killen, Texas, which happens to be the neighboring city to Harker Heights. Aycock, a former veterinarian and rancher who also served as a captain in the army, has been the representative for Texas’ House District 54 since his election in 2007. He has won every election since then and continues to serve as representative. In his time as a representative, Aycock has been very active in the communities of Killen and Harker Heights as a “director of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the Killen Quality of Life Committee,” and even a deacon at his local church (TexasTribune). Currently, Aycock is a member of the Defense & Veterans’ Affairs Committee and is serving as the chair for the Public Education Committee. Some of the other committees he has been involved with include Agriculture and Livestock and Higher Education Committees (TexasTribune). One of the notable things about Representative Aycock is his dedication to improving education in the state of Texas. He and other legislative members have collaborated in order to prevent a school voucher program from being passed. Also, in 2015, Aycock designed and wrote his own education bill. However, he did not attempt to pass it due to the heavy opposition in the Senate. Overall, when asked about his political goals, education reform was his first and foremost priority.
There are numerous varieties of election races in Texas. The state Constitution and the political society in Texas together have made a framework of our legal system that welcomes Texans to pick applicants for a great numerous public offices in all levels of the government inside the state. The Constitution needs direct election for different state offices inside the executive branch and inside the legal system of the judicial branch, likewise with respect to various county level offices. A few legislative activities oblige changing the Constitution, that also needs special established constitutional amendment elections. Numerous metropolitan and other local offices are filled
Texas Senate District 25 is currently occupied by incumbent Donna Campbell. This district is considered one of most heavily gerrymandered districts in Texas, stretching from north San Antonio to South Austin. Campbell has held office since 2012 after defeating the incumbent in a runoff primary race. Though Campbell won the general election in 2012 by 31.2% points and 2014 by 33.4%, there is an expected GOP backlash that could bring her large wins to something reachable by Edward Kling. Since this is a nonpresidential election Steven Kling would need around 120,000 votes, depending on turnout, to reach 51% and take the district.
Amit Sharma Paudyal Prof. Sharifian GOVT 2306 17 Nov. 2017 Committees of Texas House of Representatives After winning the election, there are many committees which we can serve. As a Texas House of Representative, I would like to serve on committees related to Higher Education, Transportation, and Public Health.
Presiding Officers are the highest officers and leaders of an organized group such as a board committee, or deliberative assembly. For the Texas Senate, the presiding officer is Lieutenant Governor. As Lieutenant Governor, they are a Hybrid Official with a 4 year term. They are elected in a partisan statewide election and they get paid $7,200 annually. The current Lieutenant Governor of Texas, is Dan Patrick (42nd). Dan Patrick is a Republican and a Baptist. He is also a radio talk show host. For the Texas House of Representatives, the presiding officer is the Speaker of the House. The Speaker of the House serves a 2 year term, is an elected member of the TX House and is selected by members of the House. The current Speaker of the House is Joe Straus.
All members of the Texas state legislature should have one common motive. That is, to represent the citizens of their state. Champagne et. al. states that “…members…are responsible for bringing the interests and concerns of their constituencies directly into the democratic political processes” (2017, p.211). In order to effectively do so, a member of the Texas House will represent roughly 168,000 citizens while a senator may represent more than 811,000 constituents (Champagne et al., 2017,
Texas is a state that has always been recognized for its size and politics. Elections are a huge part of democratic societies that are intended for citizens to choose their public leaders and approve the policies set by candidates. Political parties and interest groups also play a key role in shaping opportunities for public participation. Most Texans and historians know that the Democratic Party’s historical dominance is important to state politics. It is less likely that people are not aware of the consequences of the one-party system for public participation and democracy in Texas. Like many of the rim South states, the white elitist belonged to the Democratic Party which stemmed from the end of Reconstruction until the late 20th
I would say that this is quite an accurate representation of my political ideology. Despite not having all the same views as the majority of this group holds, I deeply align with many of them. For example, this group is slightly more conservative and leans toward the Republican party, but holds the opinions of both parties, which is an accurate assessment. I believe that I am mostly conservative, but I also hold a lot of mixed views espoused by both political parties. The Young outsiders are largely skeptical of activist government, which I believe to be true, which proves the quiz results accurate. Environmental and liberal social policies are also supported by this group, many of which I also support, once again, consistent with my results. This evidence proves that I am consistently aligned as a Young Outsider based upon my own personal views which agrees with the results of the typology
Upon taking the political party quiz, my results showed that I am a moderate democrat. Moderate democrats tend to be African Americans between the ages of 18 to 29 (Rubenstein 2016). These results are in fact, reflective of who I am; however, some results from
Deciding to run for the Texas State Senate, means effort towards the campaign and dedication towards the community. This position that I am currently aiming for in District nine, not only will take up most of my time, but it will all be for the community and its people. The current officer who represents my district, which contains the following areas Fort Worth, Dallas, Grand Prairie, etc. is Senator Kelly Hancock. Senator Hancock has done tremendous things for this community and the people living in it. He has put it a hundred and ten percent of his efforts into making our beloved community a place for all races. Being a State Senator in my eyes isn’t all fun and games, the people of the District chose, you have a say in the States

Choosing people who represent us in governmental level plays vital role in our life because our future lies in their hands. They are the one who will be responsible of our benefits and sometimes detriment. I have been living here in Texas for past 4 years. 1 Currently, Senator Don Huffines represents me in the Texas senate district 16 and Representative Rodney Anderson represent me in the Texas State House District 105.
