Abstract
In today’s diversified classroom situation communication and technology both are playing a vital role in every sphere of human functioning, development and effective functioning of human organizations. In education, communication technology and skills are correlated with the activities involving around teaching and learning. It is not one way interaction but two ways interaction between the teacher and pupil. Nowadays the teacher has to manage the vast explosion of knowledge. In modern era we find diversify classroom where teacher has to manage different students who may belongs to different social background, culture and ethnic groups. In short, an effective communication provides us good teacher-student relationship. In modern day classroom, it is expected that teacher will not impose his/her ideas on young minds through dictating manner but involve them actively in the process of communication. Students can actively involve in sharing their ideas, thought, imagination and problems also through communication process. Lack of good communication skills means there is less learning, experience
Effective communication is key to developing and then maintaining relationships at all levels of teaching because the pupils have to be able to understand the messages that are being conveyed.
Teaching is highly dependent on communication. This is made clear by Simonds and Cooper (2014) suggesting that teaching and learning is impossible without communicating, communication is inevitable in an educational environment. Outstanding teachers display effective communication, it is the basis of their teaching reputation as well as the basis of their rapport with students, parents, colleagues and others (Simonds and Cooper, 2014). “3.5 Use effective classroom communication” and “7.3 Engage with the parents/carers” (Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL), 2014) the two standards listed require the effective implementation of communication, highlighting that it is impossible to be a successful teacher in and out
Situation: Effective communication is a key component to a successful establishment, communication between parents, families, students, community, faculty and district personnel. The use of technologies; such as, multi-media is a great way to get information out. I believe that building a relationship upon face to face or phone conversations it beneficial to the partnership of the students’ best interests.
Good communication is a criterion that sets many students apart in terms of traits. This is useful when building any form of rapport between them and the lecture or tutor. A student that respectfully communicates has also come out as self-motivated and is more likely to get more help from the teacher since their problems are aired out effectively. Students that do not communicate can be misjudged and mistaken for lack of motivation and self-confidence. In addition, students who are good communicators are made, not born (Floyd, 2013).
Since the beginning of American history, there have been massive influxes of immigrants entering the country with similar desires and motivations. America is known for its vast amount of opportunities, privileges, and most importantly, freedom that it is able to grant to its people. This, along with many other reasons, is why immigrants choose to come to the United States. When these groups of immigrants arrive, they bring their own unique traditions, customs, and of course languages to this country. America is one of the few countries that has such a culturally diverse population and the U.S is heavily impacted by it. It is this diversity that makes America what it has become and, nevertheless, produces the problems that it faces, as well. English is a global language and is commonly used in America. This is why many would like America to adopt English as the official language. This issue has come up most recently in the House of Representatives. The English Language Unity Act of 2017 (also known as H.R 997) was introduced and was made with the intent of making English the official language of the U.S. As previously mentioned, we are a country filled with various languages and so we cannot build a barricade and require people to comply. Martha Jimenez, an attorney for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, says, it is a “tool of oppression”. An assertion that I stand by, because this bill endorses cultural assimilation, foreign speakers to lose touch with
Effective communication is the cornerstone of any relationship and is essential in resolving conflicts, giving and receiving information and ensuring safety. Effective communication must be practical, professional informative and emotional. Any form of communication should treat people as individuals, have a purpose and ensure clarity whilst instilling trust and within schools it helps create
Communication plays a major part in our everyday life, if we did not communicate with each other we could not learn, develop relationships or even progress and it is very important to make sure that the best provision is created for all. Different methods can be used as a way of communicating but the way we express it can have
In recent times, the measure of success for students is gauged on various aspects of their education; how they fair on quizzes and tests, their ability to complete various assignments, and how they are able to convey their thoughts, ideas, and beliefs through multiple forms of expression. The latter is a lot more significant than most people realize. Communication is the one broad form of expression that is always wanted and needed and is the key to measuring success. Without it, students are unable to adequately participate and contribute to class instruction and activities and determining where a student stands
Communication is addressed on many occasions during the lessons. Information is communicated to the students through the
Many individuals come to the United States not knowing much of the country or the language. These individuals come believing, it will be an easy start once they get settled in. How can that be possible to start quickly? The main language in the United States is English, many come not knowing one word in English some are fortunate to know enough to get around. Imagine a person coming into the United States at the age of 14 and have to write a paper in English.
The classroom lecture is a special form of communication in which voice, gesture, movement, facial expression, and eye contact can either complement or detract from the content. (Davis, 1993). In this teaching method, a large amount of topics can be taught in a single class period without using any extra equipment or lab. Besides, students’ listening skills can be developed and help in learning languages. In article “Common Teaching Methods”, it is stated that strengths of lecture method that it presents factual material in direct, logical manner, contains experience which inspires, stimulates thinking to open discussion, and useful for a large group. (McCarthy, 1992). To make lecture method to be more effective and interesting for students, lecturer should deliver information dramatically by using example to make it more memorable by students. Then, the teachers need to ask questions throughout the lecture so students can involve in the learning process and to check whether they really understand about that specific topic and teacher also should get the feedback of students to improve their lecture
There are many issues within the United States education system currently, and one of them is the lack of proficiency in reading among students. It is far too common for children to simply be passed up, and through the system despite lacking skills for their grade level. In low performing school districts children are often neglected in the classroom. As a result these children academically test one to two grade levels below their age. This paper will address the issues that surround low literacy rates in America, as well as the numerous ways in which English education in this country has the ability to improve.
Interestingly, the researcher thoroughly consulted the existing knowledge in the field of communicative competence so that he could get a clear and precise design to investigate the present research problem. Particularly to what extent secondary school teachers of English language focus on elements of communicative competence while they teach English as a school subjects to their students at Yaff 'ea districts, South Yemen. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the government?s policy of using English as the medium of instruction in our schools. According to those who filed the petition, the push for the use of English in our classrooms will only lead to further deterioration of what?s already been described as a rather inferior quality of education.
Our aim not only for us as future teachers, but also for current ones, is to give our students the tools for them to learn to communicate effectively in most contexts (formal, informal, writing and oral) in English (or in any other case in another language). Also we must guide them to be critical thinkers and to have curious minds
